The way Mishfiqur trapped Prior was top class and very intelligent ...absolutely hilarious way for a keeper to get stumped.
 
Man, this is sad that Ireland won't go to Quarter finals probably, they deserve it lot more than Bangladesh

If Ireland wins today I don't think Icc will be able to take them out of next world cup, the decision is not final I think and some associates might be able to play, take out Zimbabwe and put in Ireland they are better
 
Why cant we do this bowling..
literally, medium pace and spin.. just in good spots

But a six week world cup is just so long. Should be 4 weeks max. Also, minnows getting hammered skews the net run rate. World cup should be for the elite teams and it should really test them.

They need to use others ways to blood the associates.

I don't think sharad pawar and haroon lorgat will be there till 2015 sure soo the decision will be changed

You should blame the icc for having one match per day most of the times. I think if they had two matches every day the duration will be dramatically reduced no doubt
Icc is run by a bunch of idiots who are more worried about revenue than the game itself

If that STUPID dufus Ashocker didnt make that decision in IRELAND's last game I could see IRELAND going possibly further than India in this WC lol...
 
Dockrell is a good talent hope England don't fetch him add him to the englad team like Morgan
 
Ashocker de silva is worst umpire in cricket icc needs to carry medical check up on him asap
 
These David-Goliath encounters are just fascinating and I believe thats what the world cup is all about. It would be nothing without the upsets. The look on Englands face when Ireland did them over more than makes up for the rest of the minnow bashing that has been occuring.

The upsets are very rare. The minnows mostly get hammered, which is not good for their confidence and is not good for the paying public or TV audiences.

The group stages are pretty meaningless as the main teams will get through to the QFs, and thats when it really starts to matter.
 
210/6 41 overs. I think this might be a bit much for Ireland already. Another 30 odd runs and SA would be safe.

I agree, the little uns do get beat up pretty badly most of the times but it's the odd wins that would motivate these teams to improve. As for it not being good for TV, well, we wouldn't be saying that if any of our batsmen cracked a blistering century or two against Kenya or Canada. To see your team skittle out the opposition for 50 odd or see a couple of your batsmen make massive hundreds might not be fair but it's bloomin' fun to watch! I'd pay to see that. Our game against Canada had some nervy moments and to watch our bowlers defend 180 odd is worth turning the telly on I feel.
 
First of all . i think now ireland have prove that they can compete in the international arena ....its high time to give them full one day status .. by giving them one day series against top nations on regular basis.... PLEASE..........and if they want to cut down the team to 10 which i think is RIGHT THINK TO DO........... IRELAND SHOULD BE THE 10th TEAM

As far as game is concern .. i think ireland is capable of chasing 275

Ireland missed the chance here ...273 is too much for them SAF bowlers are brilliant...SAF will win it with ease .
 
Would love to see Ireland chase this but I have a feeling it is a bit too much for them. SA's bowlers are class.
 
Difficult for Ireland to win from here. Their best bet would be to safely see through the Steyn-Morkel initial spells...
 
They did against England and with K'Obrian in top form .. that Duminy catch was world class.. superb catch...

hope he gets his act together during batting and chase this down..

SA on the other hand have besides a miraculous comeback from Ireland if any.. have bagged the match in their favor .. Duminy showed why he is in the team and his innings was spectacular..

England's bowlers are not quite on the same level, despite what Whippy might say.

SA lost against England in their batting, not their bowling.
 
272 against the likes of steyn and morkel is abit too much...its not impossible but it will be damn hard to chase
 
Tough task this, good luck to the Irish.

Can they do it again?
