Is Jasprit Bumrah a match-winner for team India?

One of the greatest bowlers the game has seen. He is far ahead of his contemporaries in this era. An outlier in his era.

Marshall
McGrath
Hadlee
Bumrah
Ambrose
Wasim

The top 6 overall pace bowlers.

Death overs i say Bumrah/Akram are better.

"Team India don't understand how lucky they are to have him [Bumrah] in their ranks," du Plessis said on ESPNcricinfo's TimeOut show. "It is just proven time and time and time again, regardless of the format, you just give him the ball and he wins you games. It's a superpower that any captain will dream of; it's like having a genie, you just rub the lamp and out comes Bumrah."

Faf about Bumrah....

Yep... Bumrah ususally get them out of trouble most of the time...

Even last night, that 6-run over was a game-changer.

When will Pak come out of dark ages and study nutrition science?

Which nutrition science teaches your fast bowlers to bowl at 125 kph? Your fast bowlers don’t bowl fast and your spinners dont spin the ball. You all were one hit away yesterday from getting the embarrassment of the century in cricket.

Who is bowling at 125 yesterday?

You and I have very different ideas of embarrassments...

You call it embarrassing when Ind might have lost after fighting a evenly matched competition.

I call embarrassing when teams like Pak fails to even live up to their - already super low - expectations.

To each his own.

But don't deflect - eat a balanced scientific curated diet and work out using scientific techniques.

Nothing wrong with vegetarian diet, it may even be better in some respects.

But the best diet is a balanced diet.

Again - come out of dark ages and embrace the science humans have worked so hard to achieve.

Please.
The Dinda academy bolwers have achieved nothing in life.

I worry for Indian team in white ball cricket after Bumrah.

Hopefully IPL & domestic cricket will give us more Bumrahs, Arshdeeps, Sirajs.
Bumrah is one is century talent , it may take decades to find a fast bowler of his caliber for India. India has now good system in place so India will hopefully get few more Shami caliber bowlers in future.

Game was lost at the 19th over due to trash bowling from Archer. You can't blame Archer either as he already lost confidence after that dolly drop from Brooks who was total flop in the Semi with toss decision, plus fielding, plus batting too!

Now 2 back to back yorkers in WC finals to get 2 wickets.

The best bowler in limited overs history.

Overtaken McGrath for me. Mcgrath was clutch as well. Wasim's WC record was not that great apart from 92. Did not see Garner.

Starc in WC has overtaken Wasim

Another yorker and another wicket.

4/13 in WC finals so far by genius.

Yah, forgot Starc. Wasim almost matched the skill of Bumrah except late realse of Bumrah makes him harder to face. Yet, Wasim did not do much except in 92 WC.

He would had done a lot in 1996 but got injured right before.. too me Wasim is fav but its more to do with nostalgia.

Anyone incapable of taking a 10fer in a match when he has taken over 200 wickets is no match winner.

Anyone remember Bob Willis, he was a pretty good fast bowler, but he will always be remembered more for his commentary one liners than his bowling.

History will not be kind to Bumrah, unless he becomes a witty commentator.

Irrespective of Pakistani opinion on bumrah, he will go down as one of the greatest fast bowlers ever

Man of the series in the last world cup win. Man of the match and highest wicket taker of the tournament in this world cup win.

You bet he is a match winner

MOM in world cup finals with 4/15 and highest wicket taker in tournament.

Last WC finals he defended run a ball 30 runs when SA had pretty much won the finals. Current semis against Eng, killed the game by giving 6-8 runs when Eng needed 12-13 runs.

Watching a genius. Fans better enjoy it while it lasts.

He genuinely thinks a bowler is remembered for the no of 10-fers he took and not the impact he made, lol.

Bumrah has won 2 series in australia which the likes of 10-fer taking wasim and imran couldnt even dream of

Consistently India’s most valuable player. Ice in the veins, surgical precision in the hand. Match after match, always works, almost no bad days.

Hats off, Jasprit Bumrah! A bowling superstar in a country obsessed with batting.

:kp

Jasprit Bumrah moved to the top of the wicket-takers list for India in the T20 World Cups after picking up a four-wicket haul in the final of the 2026 edition against New Zealand in Ahmedabad.

Bumrah extended his wicket tally to 40 in the competition, going clear of Arshdeep Singh, who has 36 in 22 matches.

Top 10 test bowler ever
Top 5-6 ODI bowler ever
GOAT T20I bowler

All hail Jasprit Bumrah!

MOTT last time. MOTM in final this time. What a time to take your first four-wicket haul and career-best figures.

Might end up going down as India's greatest match-winner when all's said and done

Henry, Duffy, and Ferguson conceded 14 runs in an over, while Bumrah gave 14 runs in his entire spell. .

This is GOAT BUMRAH for you.

Pakistani-born UAE cricketer Zahoor Khan, speaking during an interview on social media:

“Jasprit Bumrah used to bowl normal slower deliveries. There was a match in Abu Dhabi where he gave away a lot of runs, and also Trent Boult and Coulter Nile got hit badly because the IPL was happening in September, and in the UAE the temperature reaches 50 degrees. It’s so hot that the ball doesn’t even come properly into your hand, and by 7–8 PM there’s so much dew that the ground becomes wet.”

“I was called up, quarantined for six days, and then went to practice on the seventh day. That night, the team included Zaheer Khan and Robin Singh, who knew me because I had bowled a maiden over in the T10 League against Lendl Simmons. In that over, I bowled 1 yorker and then five consecutive slower balls. Zaheer Khan remembered and said, “Zahoor, show me that video of the six balls you bowled in that maiden over.” I found it on YouTube and showed him. Jasprit Bumrah was also sitting there at the table, watching. He said, “how are you doing that?” I explained that I bowled all six slower balls with the same action and grip.”

“Bumrah was surprised and said, “This is the same guy who smashed us in the last World Cup. How are you bowling slower balls with the same action?” I told him I’d show him in practice. He agreed and said, “Next practice, you’ll show me your grip.”

“In practice, Shane Bond was there as the bowling coach, standing behind the nets. I bowled a slower bouncer that beat the batter. Shane asked me, “What’s your grip?” I said, “It’s the same.” He insisted, “Show me.” I bowled two or three slower balls with the same grip and action. Shane Bond was impressed and said, “This is something new in cricket—look how well he bowls slower balls with the same action and speed. A couple of days later, I was bowling alongside Bumrah again. He asked me, “What’s your grip for the slower ball? Show me.” I demonstrated, showing him the same grip and action. He tried it himself and said, “This is next-level stuff.”

“For me, it was a proud moment—being a UAE player and having a world-class star like Bumrah ask me about my technique. It felt really good that such a big name in cricket was learning something from me.”

Yes, let me find all non Indian reasons so that I can find some internal peace.

Because only Allah knows what will happen to me if I admit that Indian team was actually good.

Great read. Thanks for sharing this.

Also shows a willingness from Bumrah to improve. That's just part of what makes him the cricketer he is.
