Is the Australia-India rivalry the biggest thing in cricket at the moment?

Southampton vs Portsmouth is a bigger rivalry than Australia/India - for one - both sides believe they are rivals of each other.

As much as India are desperate for recognition, the England/Aussie teams do not see India as a rival - just a cash cow.

No. This is a manufacturered rivalry. When Ind lose to Australia, whole familes aren't going be depressed for weeks, when Ind lose to Australia players are not going to get death threats. The Australian fans care even less and no one would lose sleep over the loss.

Personally I think Pakistan-Bangladesh is the hottest rivalry in world cricket right now. The desi-Ashes.

It's funny to see many pakistanis make an effort to devalue india's various rivalries.

They dearly miss being hyphenated with India 🤭
Its funny to see many indians on PP, they dearly wish to be a part of a Pakistani history :vk2

You are niether an AUstralian nor an Indain to know how others feel lol Just focus on your new found rivalry with bangladesh.

I have no problem in crediting pakistani fans for creating one of the better cricket forums on the web. 🔥
You have problems betting on your own team thats for sure. Even you are obsessed with England :vk2. No wonder the 1.3M UK indian residents.

Correct.

Ashes started from 19th century. It has a far bigger legacy than BGT.
We literally have an aussie aussie on this forumn. My chess.com has the aussie flag as well. But naw, Indians, sorry I mean Americans know more :vk2

Agree lol

It makes perfect sense, doesn't it ?

Aussies are basically exiled english prisoners from a 100 years ago so it gives the Ashes rivalry a brotherly dimension.

Similiarly, Pakistan tried to genocide their fellow countrymen bangladeshis about 50 years. There's a 'Cain and Abel' situation going on here that they should exploit and make into a sporting legacy.

@Ice Man Set this man straight :vk2 .

Too bad you are an Australian and He is an American, we dont have an indian representative.

Mate, this was the bloke who thought I, as an Australian and a cricket fan, wouldn't know about cricket records in my own country and would only become aware via reading it on a Pakistani cricket forum.

^ Nice to have an actual aussie fan on here, no pesky wannabes.

Anyone can be Aussie these days hiding behind their computer screen

:rabada2

So every Aussie is also a wannabee unless their black? Aka indigenous 🤣🤣🤣.

This is why I despise Indians. They suffer from identity crises.

Funny how you immediately assumed that post was about you, when it wasn't. 🤭

I like Australia as a country. Its a great country even if they only has 4 good cities in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and the rest are regional areas.

Australia is the king. I give them my respect and I will gladly kiss my 2nd Blue and extremely expensive 10 year passport which imo should be yellow with blue kangaroos instead.

Kiss the aussie passport, hug the Pakistani passport, Stamp on the indian passport :vk2

This is a common misconception, mate. Around 20% of Australians have convict heritage, and some of those convicts weren't even criminals but rather political prisoners (Irish).
Scotts also settled in huge numbers .funny thing is every scott claims to be descendant of william wallace ( Brave Heart movie story for reference). All this leaving aside the natives/ aboriginals.

Aussies are the biggest rivals for the past decade or so. Because to be the best, you have to beat the best.

Pakistan has declined a lot in the last 15 yrs. It does not feel the same like in 90’s. However losing to Pakistan still hurts a lot more than losing to any other team. May be for the newer generation, it does not hurt them much.

spot on, even their last world cup win was just another day at the office for Australians. No champions greetings or anything, in fact no players got a hero's welcome of anything lmao

meanwhile India, Sri Lanka winning T20 and CT world cup and Asia cup was treated by their fans like they conquered the entire world lmao....just shows the level of some countries as overachievers are applauded more because they were minnow for so long
