Khaleel Ahmed vs Shaheen Shah Afridi

This is turning in to KL Rahul vs Babar Azam. Toyota Yaris vs a Rolls Royce. Well bowled Shaheen, I don’t think Khaleel will ever bowl this well on a SA tour in both Tests and ODIs.

Shaheen Shah Afridi has in a short span of time established himself as the best bowler in the team and one of the best in the world. Second most important player in the pakistani team at the tender age of 19.

Truly a blessing of Almighty, wish him more success.

The problem with Pakistani bowlers is that they deteriorate with age. I hope that’s not the case with Afridi

Not really, other than Amir i havent seen this trend. This has been the case with India though, so many examples.
 
Nowadays pakistan is winning these one on one competitions. I have some hopes from hardik vs faheem though.

Hardik vs Faheem is as one sided as Shaheen vs Khaleel. Shaheen's maturity in just a few games is incredible to watch.

The duck master is not even in the team. Pakistan team that needs batting depth did not think he's good enough to bat. He averages 55+ with his bowling against non minnows and isnt an effective bowler too. Faheem is not even an all rounder and shouldnt be compared to Pandya. Thats why I said one sided.

Khaleel was hyped as a 145kph bowler. Bakwaas bowler. He is from the 90’s..when Ind was full of trundlers.
 
Khaleel is extremely mediocre if he has potential he should go play couple of seasons of county that helped ZAK and will surely help him develop as a bowler..

Afridi is ahead of Khaleel by a considerable distance so far.
 
Khaleel is not even fit to tie the laces of SSA. That wide is the difference between them in terms of talent.
 
No one can and i dont think anyone is disputing the fact that Afridi is on a different level, Khaleel on the other hand will be out of the team soon.
 
Shaheen atm but let's hope he doesn't fade away like many of our pacers
 
Let's put it this way

Pak fans are happy Shaheen will be part of WC.
Indian fans are happy Khaleel won't be because of Shami's resurgence.

Shaheen is the best of the barrage of leftie bowlers in Pak setup. Khaleel is getting games just because he's a lefty. He's really poor, bowling 130 without line and length. Needs to pick up his pace and control through a few years in FC.
 
I only saw him bowl a few balls in the first T20 against NZ. He looks promising to me. Not sure why he is getting so much hatred by our PP experts.

Anybody that bowls 130 with not much swing is not worth a spot. Also, he doesn't seem to be learning much from previous bashing. It's the same lines and lengths. Poor fielder and an absolute mug with the bat .

Yeah, not sure why he's getting hate by Indian fans, he seems like a fantastic new addition and it's quite embarrassing now, how ahead of Pakistan, India are in all departments, including fast bowling in effectively all formats.
 
Same as Babar Azam vs Kohli. No matter how much we hype Khallel is class below Afridi. Similarly Babar is class below Kohli

Babar is like several grades below VK.
At least in the case of these two young pacers , they have started their career about at the same time thus a sensible comparison even though yes I agree that Shaheen is comfortably the better bowler atm.

He is so weak that if he tries to bowl these 140k balls for 2 more overs he will end up in emregency room. Very very long way to go.
 
Khaleel Ahmad should not be allowed to come anywhere near Indian international teams. He is a hit me bowler and a disgrace for any self respecting bowlers.

When I first saw Khaleel against Hong Kong, he looked very promising, he hasn't kicked on though. Actually he's gotten smashed in pretty much every game he's played after that match.

On the other hand, Shaheen has howled incredibly well.

He's got that "smashability" aura. You just know he's gonna be smashed to all corners of the ground. Ajit Agarkar had it. Wahab too.
 
Khaleel is so mediocre he reminds me of early 2010s Indian pacers. He should never wear national team jersey again.

Agarkar used to swing the ball and could bowl yorkers sometimes.

Wahab had some glorious days too even though he used to get smashed.

Khaleel is a line and length trundler. I had so much hope from him. His physique is very slender and bowls gun barrel straight.

I have said it before. Shaheen is a million times better than Khaleel.

Shaheen will become a premiere bowler while Khaleel will be back in domestics pretty soon. He will not make it to the WC Squad.

Yes Agarkar had swing and Wahab has pace and they both got smashed neverthless. Khaleel has none. Shaheen is currently Pakistan's No.1 bowler. Lucky for India, Shami was superb in NZ series closing the curtains on Khaleel's WC prospects

He will be in the reckoning for years to come because of his age and his 'leftiness'. The other leftie alternatives are "suspicious Million dollar cutter" Unadkat and Punjabi Sher wannabe Sran.

Khaleel really isn't that good, though India's overall bowling attack is well ahead of Pakistan.
 
Khaleel trundler was only chosen because of variety,but his lack of pace and ability is apparent.Needs to be sent back to domestics asap,asked to eat more.We risk return to trundler era with thakur,kaul,khaleel and chahar.

Siraj has potential but is not a limited overs bowler.Th real prospects are navdeep saini (who just took a fifer against england lions).Avesh khan,ankit rajpoot,shivam mavi.

Aniket chaudhury took half a dozen 5fers this ranji trophy,he is better.But he is 28,so..meh.

Thakur, Kaul, Khaleel and Chahar are all CSK material and their pace gives goosebumps to Dhoni. But Dhoni won't be in the Indian team after WC so these 4 trundlers will just be part of IPL.

Picked in ODIs because of Ranji? Wasn't Siraj picked based on the same criteria? His smashability index is 10/10 with an ever glowing aura. India needs to unearth another jewel like Bumrah.

For a country of a billion, it's surprising to see India just having a handful of genuine pacers and no decent middle order batsmen.
 
Khaleel has potential. Yes, his pace hadn't been consistent. But give the guy a few games before declaring him a failure/trundler. Far better than the likes of chahar and kaul and infinitely superior to IPL millionaire unadkat lol. No comparison to Shaheen though who's the hottest young pace prospect going around.

I see the Billion statement being thrown around as if people in an arguably 3rd world country are similarly situated to people of every other country.

But do people who bring this up ever consider the significance of poor diet (quality not quantity, especially animal protein) over a period of generations that has a clear influence on genetic potential at each generation?

That alone crosses of much from of the potential from the pool, so as to make the “billions to choose from” point quite moot.

Times have changed and sportsmen are well aware of nutrition and training. I keep hearing that the facilities have improved as well.

You are presuming billion people care about cricket which is not correct. There are still people who are intent on getting a job first. Yes facilities have improved for people who are into cricket as a profession and proof is before everyone. Just because there are a billion people doesn't mean there will be sportsperson in every nuke and corner. India is generally not a sport oriented nation.

In india millions play fun cricket,but a very small portion actually play or attempt professional cricket.Millions suffer from poverty and malnutrition as well.School cricket system is shambolic.Base population is not enough,its just 'one' advantage.

Being aware and having access are two different things, and I would deduce that access doesn’t become a reality for most, until the body has already grown on relatively low/bad nutrition, unless of course, a kid is from a more affluent family.

I know there’s not much red meat eating going on in India, but what about white meat? You think it’s a staple or does it get eaten at most once a week, if that, for most families?

Nonetheless, your genetic potential can only be maximized through epigenetic means, but it cannot be increased (example: height). What has transpired over generations cannot be overcome by a generational change. The change if it does come, wouldn’t come at this generation, but generations down the road.

Guess it's because my impressions of him have been from the Asia Cup where he looked like a good prospect.
 
Khaleel has been handed the India cap that the likes of Rajpoot, Warrier and Avesh deserved. Only because of this strange fetish for a left arm seamer for the sake of it. There's enough evidence that international batsmen could care less about left arm seamers if he is gun barrel straight but somehow their lure persists.

I mean I don't get one little redeeming quality in Khaleel. The run up, the load up at the crease, the wrist position, pace...everything requires major upgrade. Even he himself must wonder what he's doing there, surely?
 
Shaheen like most young Pak bowlers is a little overrated, but Khaleel bad, just useless.

Shaheen > Khaleel.

Two vicious spells by Shaheen at the biggest stage WC. Easily the two best spells of the tournament

Khallel Ahmad is one of the worst bowlers ever to have been selected to play international cricket by BCCI.
 
Shaheen has a higher ceiling and he has brain ...his fitness finesse pace all will only rise

With what is happening with Pakistani pacers off-late, I would wait for one more year on Afridi. Kid is a great prospect but hope he doesn’t end up like another Hassan Ali.

Hassan is a short guy. Short pacers generally don't do well in the long run.

I think Shaheen will be much better. He also seems to have more skills.

hasan ali is out of form he will be back .he is averaging in late 20 in test from past 2 years so i don,t think he is finished article .just look at amir how strongly he have made a comeback from completely out of sort
