Kyle Mayers' 210* guides West Indies to a stunning 3-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the 1st Test

Bangladesh one dimensional bowling attack came back to bite them hard, you need to have variety including serious pace options, not sure why taskin did not develop into a good pace option for test matches. Just bowling the same spinners over after over four two days will eventually make a world class batsman get used to them

Well said.

They use the same formula over and over. Lack of variety is a major problem.

I feel dark days are ahead for Bangladesh. New guys are being total flops. I hope they prove me wrong but things are not looking good currently.

Pathetic excuse of a team. Tamim and other burdens should be discarded as soon as possible. Mushfiqur Rahim is another failure who dosent merit a place in the test XI. As long as the test format is not given priority over useless ODIs, I don't see BD cricket improving.

They turn into sitting ducks once they come to international cricket.

Also, latest U19 guys haven't played international cricket yet.

I know they haven't, but surely the upcoming players coming through have potential

Wow, wonderful stuff from Mayers and Windies!

It would be great to see Windies become a strong team again. Performances like this should give them a lot of confidence.

Wow....Windies - awesome. Feel sad for our Bangla bros though, as an indian fan - it must be so hard.
As an aside, the last few test matches we have seen, test cric is alive and kicking. This has to be a phase of hard fought test cricket. Good luck to Bangla - from India.

This is easily the worst performance in the 4th innings while defending in the history of test cricket ever, if you disagree, then you clearly haven't watched enough of test cricket ever.

Mustafizur has lost pace. Ban's domestic pitches are tailor made for spinners or batters. Nothing for pacers. Mominul Haque hasn't set into his role as a captain yet.

Under Hathurusingha Ban had started trying different variety of players like leggies and others. Domingo seems to have stalled the progress.

They are still a good ODI team but seems like the players and the board don't really take Tests and maybe t20s that seriously. T20is team can easily become better if Ban produces 2 or 3 power hitters, and some variety in pace bowling and maybe a chinaman or a leggie.

It has the asterisk (not the one of not out) that Shakib want not fit to bowl. Let him chase these runs when Shakib was bowling.

What does this suppose to mean? He will face many bowlers better than Shakib in his international career for now he single handedly smashed Bangladesh at home.

It means that the praise for his performance has to be tempered, as he did not face the strongest bowler in the team. This is why we record asterisks.

It was on the last day of the test were the pitch was spinning and scored 200 what a innings

Someone scoring a match winning double ton on the forth innings of a test match, on his debut away from home shouldn't have any asterisks whatsoever. This is once a lifetime performance irrespective of the quality of opposition.
