I would humbly suggest that Rahat sit this one out and somehow space made for Fakhar Zaman (not sure where!)

But who would you chose?

1. Fakhar
2. Imam
3. Azhar
4. Babur
5. Saad
6. Sarfraz
7. Shadab
8. Faheem
9. Hasan
10. Mohammed
11. Mohammed
12. Usman

Rest players who are gonna play against England for definite who are in form. Play players who are out of form/players who may make the 11 if they do well.

So give chances to Zaman, Aslam, Usman Salahuddin, Saad Ali etc if possible!

Amir should be rested. So rahat can play this one too I guess

If shadabs fingers are still sore he should do little bowling

Amir should rest and Hasan should be given a chance.

Am sure he will be which may allow Fakhar to come in with the rest of the squad same except for Rahat replacement by Hasan

1. Azhar
2. Imam
3. Asad
4. Haris
5. Usman
6. Babar
7. Sarfraz
8. Shadab
9. Amir
10. Hasan
11. Abbas

Asad out Saad in
Shadab out Fakhar in
Rahat out Hasan in

Need to try Saad and Fakhar. Whoever performs better plays England series instead of Asad. Shadab comes back. I think he has already justified his selection so he can sit out for side matches.

Isn't this a warm up game rather a FC game? Meaning all squad players can participate.

If not, I would rest Amir and bring in Hassan. Give Rahat 1 final chance to impress.

Azhar Ali
Sami Aslam
Saad Ali
Usman Saluhidin
Fakhar Zaman
Sarfraz Ahmed
Faheem Ashraf
Shadab Khan
Hassan Ali
Rahat Ali
Mohammad Abbas

I would prefer a rest to Abbas and Shadab as well, but we don't have other options. Imam, Haris, Shafiq and Babar have all had at least one 50+ score on the tour so far. Azhar and Sarfraz need more game time to get back into form. And give the rest of the bench batsmen some game time so they're in case needed.

I think the same XI that played against Ireland will play in Lords, with the only exception being Hassan for Rahat. I don't think this game against Leicester will have any bearing on the selection for the the XI in Lords. Depending on how the 1st Test goes, we might see changes in Leeds (but again, I highly doubt it).

Why do we have 3 reserve batsmen but only one reserve bowler? Ridiculous planning.

I wish the below team plays as the worse can happen is? we lose, so what we rather test the new guys.

1-Imam -----He ll most likely play the first test against Eng
2-Saad -----Need to test the young guy if fails Azhar ll play anyways
3-Usman -----Need to try...
4-Harris -----he ll play anyways
5-Fakhar -----Most likely that ll be his position for first test if he fails Asad is there anyways with match practice
6-Sarfaraz ----Capt/Keeper
7-Shadab --- He 'll play first test
8-Faheem ----Play because Amir needs to rest
9-Hasan ----He needs to play first test so Imp. to get match practice
10-Abbas ----He ll play the test againsta Eng
11-Rahat ----Here because no other choice and Amir needs to rest

Rest Amir, Abbas (both got plenty of overs) and imam (certainty for first test anyway).

Open with Fakhar, play either Saad or Usman in middle order and bring in Hasan.

Then pick one of Fakhar/saad/Usman for first test.

Got to rest Amir and Shadab. Asad's place is booked so he doesn't need to participate.

The rest does not bother as long as Fakhar, Saad/Usman get a chance.

No need to rest the batsmen, the more practice they get the better. Same with Shadab, a spinner is not likely to get injured, InshAllah.

1) Imam
2) Sami
3) Azhar
4) Shafiq
5) Haris
6) Babar
7) Sarfaraz
8) Shadab
9) Faheem
10) Hasan
11) Abbas

If everyone does well in the FC game then my team for the first test would be:

1) Imam ul Haq
2) Sami Aslam
3) Azhar Ali
4) Asad Shafiq
5) Haris Sohail
6) Babar Azam
7) Sarfaraz Ahmed (c) (wk)
8) Fahim Ashraf/Shadab Khan
9) Mohammad Amir
10) Hasan Ali
11) Mohammad Abbas

Ideally, we would have five frontline bowling options but I don't want to drop either of Azhar, Haris or Babar and Sami deserves to get another go.

1. Azhar
2. Fahkar
3. Haris
4. Babar
5. Usman
6. Saad
7. Sarfraz
8. Shadab - shouldn’t bowl much though
9. Faheem
10 Hasan
11. Rahat

The Test players - apart from Amir, who has lots of experience in England and needs to rest - should all get another outing.

I’d just swap in Hasan Ali for Mohammad Amir.

Then I’d go into the Test with Rahat out and Amir back in.

Fakhar has to open in this game.

He's a game changer and the only one we would have in the top order.
Azhar is a walking wicket at the top so must drop down to his usual place of 4.

The main aims for this Leicestershire match:

1) Azhar Ali and Sarfraz Ahmed finding form with the bat.
2) Hasan Ali getting overs under his belt.

it will be ridiculous if Usman S goes a second series without a game.

I am telling you he is better than Asad S, so they need to give him a chance.

If Saad Ali doesn’t get a chance to play.

The XI picker needs to be slapped in the face.

I’m not joking, with the numbers Saad is putting up, how can you justify him not playing?

Guys, I agree with you but this is a warm-up game... We can retire batsmen, there is no playing XI...its a squad game

But why give game time to people you will not play at Lord's?

This weekend represents a fantastic opportunity for some of the younger members of the Leicestershire CCC squad to pit their wits against some stars of the international game.

Pakistan visit the Fischer County Ground for the two-day tourist match sponsored by Regal Bakery fresh from a five-wicket test match victory over Ireland.

The game could see six graduates of Leicestershire CCC's flourishing Academy on show, including Lewis Hill, who will captain the side for the first time.

Young batsman Sam Evans is included in the squad as the weekend fixture does not clash with his studies at Loughborough University.

Tom Wells and Harry Swindells come into the game on the back of posting terrific hundreds for the Second XI in the Trophy match against MCC Young Cricketers at Lutterworth CC yesterday.

All-rounder Zak Chappell is in line for his first red ball appearance of the season after making a comeback from injury against Northants Steelbacks, while Aadil Ali and current Academy all-rounder Ben Mike are also in the 12.

Richard Jones is back having completed a successful comeback from injury for the Second XI yesterday, taking three of the four wickets to fall.

Leicestershire CCC Second XI Coach Tom Smith is taking the side and is looking forward to a good test of skills against an international team.

He said: “This represents a really exciting fixture for the group. As a bowler you will immediately put yourself in the mix if you take wickets against test match batsmen and, as a batsman, runs against international bowlers is only going to benefit your confidence.”

The fixture is final preparation for the Pakistan squad before their test series against England. The Ireland game saw Leicestershire CCC overseas bowler Muhammad Abbas pick up nine wickets in the match: four in the first innings and five in the second.

Abbas’ success came as no surprise to Head Coach Paul Nixon. “We know how much quality Mo [Muhammad Abbas] possesses and the skill he can bowl with,” said Nixon.

“It’ll be great to see Mo back at the Fischer County Ground and to catch up with him before he returns in the middle of June after the test series.”

The format of the fixture is two innings per side with the side batting first in the first innings allowed to face a maximum of 100 overs of bowling. The hours of play are 11:00 until 18:00 with lunch taken at 13:00 and tea at 15:40.

Leicestershire CCC (from 12): Hill (capt), Aadil, Chappell, Dearden, Evans, Javid, Jones, Klein, Mike, Swindells (wk), Taylor, Wells.

Im not sure if I misinterpreted your first post but how likely is is that Fakhar will play at lords. and BTW is this game being streamed anywhere?

And is this a 11 a side game or is it 15 a side... the Leicester team has only 12?
