It seems like the largest Boxing Day crowds for the last ten years are for:

1) England
2) India
3) SA
4) SL
5) Pakistan (rain affected)
6) WI

The country that does really poorly is WI, no surprise. However, SL ahead of Pakistan is a bit of a surprise. NZ hasn't played a Boxing Day game for a very long time.

An attendance of 73K+ yesterday is the highest for a non-England game in the last 15 years, and is very good considering the recent cheating bans of Aussie players.

Disappointing after day 1. Expected a slightly better number.

Total 143500 over three days. And total 336000 in the three tests so far.

Just for brother [MENTION=132916]Junaids[/MENTION] benefit, Pakistan had a total attendance of 320000 across the three tests in 2016 despite one of them being a day night test with significantly higher numbers. So sad to see a top tier team having less attendance vs a team of nobodies.

Had said early in the thread that by the end of this series, we would have seen attendance of 500000. On course to achieve around 460000-470000.

Found it pretty incredible that India's 2014-15 tour to Australia enjoyed a greater TV audience within Australia than the 2016-17 Ashes.





The TV numbers this year took a hit. Wasted days on account of rain, tests not going the full distance, the local stars Smith and Warner not being available, disillusionment of fans on account of Cape town controversy, home team losing, and cricket being on Pay TV possible reasons?
