Manchester United 2025/2026 Season

Timeline of Amorim at Utd

-Utd were on verge of sacking ten Hag
-had almost confirmed to Amorim who had also most likely let sporting know
-out of no where Ten Hag wins FA cup
-their supporters start screaming ‘yay trophies’
-Utd owners change their plans and retain ten Hag
-tell Amorim that he’s no longer in
-Amorim now has to face the embarrassment of telling sporting he’s staying and starts new season
-Ten Hag continues to do poorly into new season in the league
-Utd sack him
-Force Amorim to quit sporting mid year by giving him an ultimatum
-Amorim leaves sporting embarrassed
-starts new job on a backfoot unprepared
-does poorly and says some unnecessary stuff

End of season 1

He's made it clear he's not doing that, he's been so stubborn about it he now has to stick with it and it could end up being the thing that costs him his job

Quite similar to Ange who played his ridiculous high line, even when his fast defenders were injured he played it, even when they went down to 9 men he played it and that poor league finish is what cost him his job

I do agree a 4-2-3-1 with the current lot could work

Lammens/Onana
Mazraoui - Yoro - De Ligt - Dorgu
Ugarte - Casemiro
Mbeumo - Bruno - Cunha
Sesko

Until he gets a dynamic CM that's the formation he should go with
I wouldn't play Ugarte I would play Mainoo however it looks like he's not in his plans.

I would play him as the 8 and not the 6.

I can see that working if you play 3 in midfield, then with the right kind of profile of the other 2 midfielders he can thrive but as we've already said Amorim isn't playing that

Obviously striker is our priority but I'd love for us to sign him, think with the likes of Tonali/Bruno providing the legs in midfield he could really thrive and we know Howe has a great record of developing players

Yes howe has good record.i think 3 more games Amorin should get if he doesn't get results should be shown the door.

Amorim is a clown of the highest order.

As a manager, you need to show some flexibility. Literally, none of the players seem comfortable playing Amorim's system. If that is the case, then your system is ****, simple as that.

Amorim has already said that he won't change his system, so INEOS need to do the right thing and sack this fraud already. Let's not waste another season by waiting too long to sack the manager.

In theory 3 at the back gives you options to attack more. He played this with Sporting but different leagues esp as there are only 3 clubs in Portugal who were any decent.

As a neutral imo your main issue is not having a world class keeper and the midfield. Last night Newcastle had Bruno,Tonali and Jolinton, these 3 were like wild animals running hard , big tackles, showing strength. Its too easy for teams to walk through Utds midfield. Buying attackers is great but these two areas as key imo.

Utd has been abused going back decades now with crazy buys, not even Pep or Klopp could change this in a couple of years.

His stubbornness is beginning to irk alot of the fan base. Any manager worth his salt has to show flexibility. At the moment, all he's showing is, he's a a one Trick Pony, which is concerning.

Definitely needs a new GK and a couple of CM's with heart and Drive. But even then we may still have issues. Amorim has to be more flexible in tactics and philosophy.

It's not just about the back 3 system. Inter Milan reached the Champions League final with that system. So the system itself isn't an issue. It is Amorim's interpretation of it that is an issue.

Man United's midfield has been getting exposed for the past 3-4 years. Even under Ten Hag, the midfield getting overrun was the biggest issue.

The biggest problem in Man United's midfield is Bruno Fernandes. That is the conversation the majority of Man United fans don't want to have, but that guy is a big problem. He is a very ill-disciplined player, not just on the ball, but also off the ball. He exposes the rest of the midfield due to his poor positional play. But people are too blinded by his goals and assists to realise that this guy is a big reason why it is so easy to bypass Man United's midfield. We really should have taken the Saudi money for him.

He maybe should but what do fans want? Hard to beat, great attacking football or any method which leads to wins? Jose was that type of manager but I recall a lot of fans wanted him out suggesting Man Utd should never play a defensive strategy against anyone.

Imo the manager whoever it is needs to start from the back. Make yourselfs a very difficult team to beat like Brighton or Bournemouth have done in recent years (relative to their size) and then kick on..

Yes, I would never want Bruno in my team ever lol. His face looks miserable, moaning and dropping his shoulders as soon as there is any tough moments. I think he was on his way out but Ruben decided to keep him as he needed a fellow Portuguese in tough times lol.

His only other tactic besides his usual tactic is to play Maguire as a striker in the final few minutes of the game.

I never want us to appoint another manager with no Premier League experience.

He was moaning about the referee bumping into him before he missed his penalty. :ROFLMAO:

Imagine going from Roy Keane to Bruno Fernandes as your captain. What a fall from grace.

Apparently he is kicking off with the dinner ladies in the Utd canteen, a fly landed in his herbal tea.
