What's new

Mohammad Rizwan signs for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and set to feature in CPL for the first time

I’ve watched a few CPL games here and there, and batting in the Caribbean isn’t that easy. Most matches are moderate scoring usually around 170. I can’t fully comment on the overall quality of bowling, but the game where Rizwan scored 85 off 62 was definitely played on a tough pitch. There’s a reason why, after Rizwan, the next highest scorer from both teams was Shai Hope with just 31 off 27. I watched that match, some balls were keeping low, and Imran Tahir along with Hassan Khan bowled really well.

Rizwan, despite his limitations, has one special quality that many players don’t, he reads pitch conditions very well and adjusts his game accordingly. That’s exactly what he did, and it turned into a fantastic innings.

**he reads pitch conditions very well and adjusts his game accordingly.**
Just stop right there, he is not capable of doing that.

So, I watched his last innings

It’s not the worst given the situation his team found themselves in losing wickets regularly at the other end.

Ian Bishop did point out repeatedly it was poor bowling to Rizwan because it’s blatantly obvious that he scores 75% of his runs at midwicket and fine leg. He has a very poor rate on the off side. Guyana bowled too straight at him

Then again, Rizwan was dragging a lot of balls to the leg as usual.

I’ve seen no improvements. He’s the same guy who was rightfully dropped even though he always ends up with an average of above 40 in a 10 match season.

It’s funny how whoever he plays for as an opener, the other batsman has to be the designated risk taker whilst he just goes along his merry way at a run a ball and capitalising on the odd bad ball with a boundary to up his sr from 100 to 120/130.

Put him in the current Pakistan team, it will be the same result where the ceiling score might me 150-170 where all the other players may add hit and miss cameos

He doesn’t upgrade the side.

You’ve got it completely wrong. This is the problem with so many posters here, they don’t really understand cricket but talk like they know everything. Everyone accepts Rizwan’s off side game isn’t great, but despite that he still averages 47 at a strike rate of 125 in T20Is, with 30 fifties and a century. You don’t get those numbers by luck. He’s achieved it by reading conditions better than most and adjusting his game. If you can’t see that, maybe think twice before posting.

60+ balls to finish on 85

That’s crap if you ask me. And this is his best form.

What suits Pakistan or any team more is an opener smashing 20 off 10 in a pursuit of a 25 ball 50 in the powerplay and then then middle order taking control,

Not an opener who intentionally looks for 20 off 17 in the powerplay.

No. You get those numbers by being selfish. Who cares about those numbers if the team is crap?

What’s ‘understanding cricket’? Are you Don Bradman?

I watched a few games and noticed that Ian Bishop was quite critical of the Pakistani players in this league. He kept pointing out their mistakes, while praising West Indian players even when they were making the same errors. It felt a bit strange listening to his commentary during those matches.

Bringing Rizwan back into the team or not is a separate debate, but if we’re simply commenting on cricket based on the day it was played, then here are my observations. Many people didn’t watch Rizwan’s innings in full or pay close attention to it. He actually played some beautiful shots, including a couple of classy boundaries over the cover and extra cover region. He has also been experimenting with the reverse sweep and scoop shots, and overall he seems to be playing more aggressively, adapting his game to the situation and conditions. At the same time, other commentators rightly praised his game awareness and the quality of his innings.

Stage 2, and yet another useless comment that has nothing to do with cricket or what’s being discussed here. This is exactly why I avoid engaging with you. Your understanding of the game is very weak, and all you do is take cheap shots at others while derailing every thread on this forum. Try discussing cricket

Don’t make up stuff

Give proof. Give examples! You are accusing Bishop of being a hypocrite

@Caved12 please provide examples of how Bishop has been showing double standards in commentary towards West Indian players.

THREAD IS ABOUT RIZWAN IN CPL....

TAKE YOUR USELSS STUFF SOMEWHERE ELSE PLEASE

@Caved12 please provide examples of how Bishop has been showing double standards in commentary towards West Indian players.
This post has nothing to do with the main topic being discussed. And asking for this kind of proof is nonsense, I obviously can’t post a full game recording in this thread.

Do it in the other thread. Don’t run away.

@topspin

His indirect response came from what I wrote earlier. This isn’t a false claim unlike his. You can re-watch the entire innings and listen to Bishop’s commentary. He was miffed at Guyana bowling to Rizwan’s only go to region.

"Ian Bishop doesn't rate my bestie so I'm going to slander him to help me promote Rizwan on this forum". You guys did the same thing to Simon Doull. No one is falling for it.

That’s another false claim. You seem to specialize in inventing lies and making baseless remarks about other posters. Can you provide proof that I ever said this?

You don’t play the reverse game here.

It’s you who slipped up and need to prove where and when did Bishop say things about particular Pakistan players, and turned a blind eye when Particular West Indian players did the same.

You’ve given us some very interesting material to diseconomies here. I did tell you to post responsibly.

Your in for a very frustrating time going forward.

This claim above will also be challenged, dismantled and thrown into the bin. That’s once we have gotten to the bottom of your Ian Bishop claim.

The onus is on you to prove Bishop’s bias against Pakistani players participating in the CPL. This is literally unheard of until you brought up.

If you can’t prove otherwise, you’re displaying your motive.

Since you’re as slow as Misbah’s batting, the words I put in speech marks merely highlight your thoughts rather than the words used in your posts.

Read my earlier reply to your post, and also provide proof that I said Imam should replace Saim in all white ball cricket.

Right, lets try getting to the bottom of this. You said you will find it hard to provide the entire game clip/clips. That's fine, ill help you.

1. "I watched a few games".

Which games did you watch? You should be able to specify.

2. "was quite critical of Pakistani players in this league"

Which Pakistani players to be specific?

Lets start with this.

Rizwan played a good innings. He is a player for Pakistan and the current captain of the ODI team. The comment was about the actual cricket played on that day. Yet, people started making all sorts of nonsense, trying to argue that it wasn’t a good innings. It’s unbelievable. There’s a lot of twisting and turning to discredit him, just like what happened for years when he earned the T20 Cricketer of the Year award. Silly comments and diversion tactics keep coming up to downplay his achievements.

Read my earlier reply to your post, and also provide proof that I said Imam should replace Saim in all white ball cricket.
@topspin he's ignoring me cause of the ss claim so let me clarify once again.

First of topspin did not claim replace in all formats, he claimed that you said replace saim for imam amd have imam bat at no 4 in t20.

Yes you did not specify t20 or odi but you put babar and rizwan at opening and imam at no 4

Babar and rizwan only open in t20, any logical person after seeing that playing 11 would assume you are referring to t20 cricket.

Unless you seriously forward the idea of rizwan and Babar as odi openers 🤣🤣.

But ofcourse convo was deleted and @topspin cant prove it so you can keep lying to yourself and deny all witness accounts. BTW here was your playing 11

1) Babar
2) Rizwan
3) Fakhar
4) Imam
5) Agha
6) Hasan Nawaz
7) Muhammad Nawaz
8) Shaheen
9) Naseem
10) Rauf
11) Abrar

^^ You mean to tell me this is an Odi list? Get outta here lol 🤣🤣

Even if this was an odi 11, it's one of the worst odi 11 ive ever seen in my life.

Disliking someone is one thing, but in the same breath, some claim to support Pakistan cricket while criticizing others for having favourites or wishing their team loses so their preferred player can return. Yet, they do the exact same thing with Rizwan, our ODI captain. And let’s be clear, he wasn’t handed the captaincy on a silver platter. He earned it through consistent performances, not just as a keeper but also as a batsman across all formats, both internationally and domestically. The double standards people show are astounding, and then they have the audacity to call others hypocrites, taking every opportunity to get personal.

Stop running away from the Bishop claim.

should we start revisiting your posts about Salman Agha when he was appointed captain of the Pakistan T20 team? We may find plenty of gems in those threads.

Rizwan wasn't handed the captaincy in a silver platter.

Meanwhile " Mein no 5 sei khush mahi hoon Mujhe no 4 chahai"

" Saim ko no 4 pei khelo, Mujhe t20 opener banao"

" I refuse to be a dummy captain, I will make my own decisions and select my own squad"

"Misbah, Sarfi kicked me out, As chief selector help me please 🫠"

YOU GUYS ARE NOT LISTENING...

NO MORE PERSONAL REMAKRS

STAY ON RIZWAN CPL TALK OR LEAVE THE THREAD.... ENOUGH

I just want to add one more point. I know exactly what was going on with Rizwan in his last innings for the Patriots, and that’s the kind of character you look for when picking a final squad. In the previous game of that league, despite scoring a solid 60 when most of the team failed, Rizwan was pushed down the batting order. That showed the management had little faith in him, and it must have upset him. In the next game, his body language and expressions made it clear that he had had enough and wanted to prove a point. That determination is what helped him play such a strong innings, and it rightly earned him the motm award.

Your earlier comment got deleted, but I’ll still be nice enough to reply, otherwise you’ll just keep spamming every thread with the same demand.
That’s simply a silly ask and only proves how low your IQ is to ask for proof like that. The trouble is that you tried to belittle his innings by talking crap and dragging in Ian Bishop’s comments about poor bowling. More than half the time, runs and boundaries are scored against poor bowling, that’s just how cricket works and it’s the job of commentators to point that out. But I rightly pointed out that Ian Bishop was mostly targeting Rizwan, and he wasn’t balanced in his views for other batters or applying the same standards on them. You then took that and went even further, using it to target Rizwan and exaggerate the nonsense. I simply pointed out what I observed, and now you can’t digest that fact, so you’re jumping up and down and bringing in the same nonsense as always.

Right, these are two very different statements. So which one is correct and which one is made up?

Read my earlier reply to your post, and also provide proof that I said Imam should replace Saim in all white ball cricket.

What you’re saying about Ian Bishop is a lie. This guy has always been a genuine well wisher of Pakistan cricket. He’s a real one.

It’s quite obvious that you’re a bigger fan of Babar and Rizwan than Pakistan cricket. Have some chest and be man enough to admit.

Right, these are two very different statements. So which one is correct and which one is made up?
Both statements are correct and I stand by them. You’re just twisting my words now because I’ve already exposed you and dismantled all your weak arguments.

How am I twisting your words?

I have directly quoted two separate posts from you.

So, you didn’t see a recurring theme in Bishop’s commentary when it came to multiple Pakistan players, you only saw it once in the case of Rizwan?

Clarify this.

Lying seems to be your favorite hobby, you’ve even managed a Phd in it. Go ahead, show proof that I ever said Imam should replace Saim in all white ball cricket. But I guess proof isn’t your strong point, cheap shots are. Unlike you and your endless IDs, I’ve stuck to discussing cricket here. Maybe take notes and try it sometime.

Watched highlights and I don't think Hesson will be impressed with such innings.

I don't think Rizwan has the ability to transform his offside batting. We should give chances to Haseebullah in next ODI series.

The mental gymnastics on display are unbelievable. If you go back and read all my posts in this thread, you will find the answers to your questions. I have already addressed them repeatedly and exposed the flaws in your arguments. Learn to accept defeat, move on, and try to be a better poster by discussing the actual topic instead of constantly derailing the thread with silly questions. Seriously, grow up, enough is enough.

Yes, when we read your posts, we see all your mental gymnastics on display. Well done for admitting it.

Back to the point….

So we can establish that you were making it up when describing Ian Bishop’s commentary in this thread?

Changing the subject because we all know your claims about Ian Bishop hold no water. Your cult did the same thing to Simon Doull when he exposed Babar's credentials as a batsman. A leopard never changes its spots.

Asking for proof when you know it's been deleted :ROFLMAO:. You do realise I'm not the only one who's seen it? 🤡

You want to talk about cricket? Let's talk about cricket.

But here’s the real issue: did the management ever even try giving Babar and Rizwan a chance in this so-called new template?

The timing of this post is what amazed me about this post. You wrote this after Pakistan beat UAE. During the contest, they scored 207 which is a decent score, albeit against UAE, but you somehow tried to divert the focus on Pakistan's win to something irrelevant at the time - all because of this heartburn you have over Babar and Rizwan being dropped from the side :ROFLMAO:. This is why you have zero credibility because you're more concerned about your favourites than Pakistan winning.

I didn't want to expose you like this but you forced my hand after repeatedly lying about who's being dishonest during our exchanges.

Like seriously where you born yesterday? Babar and Rizwan have been given all the chances in the world to adopt the brand of T20 cricket.

@topspin

No, the mental gymnastics are just a pathetic attempt to dodge the actual topic and shift the conversation to irrelevant nonsense. Anyone can listen to the commentary and decide for themselves if there was bias, it’s not rocket science. Even someone who’s openly supported Pakistan can go off on certain players while conveniently ignoring others who did the same or worse in the same game.

People watching the match aren’t stupid, they can hear what’s being said and form their own views. If someone disagrees, they can just say so or share their own take. Simple. But dragging it into “proof this, proof that” is just nonsense and all it does is expose your real motive: to pick fights and stir up pointless arguments. You’re not here to talk, you’re here to provoke.

I’ve actually been decent enough to reply properly. I could’ve just thrown it back and said you prove me wrong, the burden’s not on me. But obviously that would be pointless too, because commentary bias is subjective. Everyone hears it differently and makes their own call. Your habit of never accepting defeat in any argument here is easy to see, and it’s clear you just want to have the last word. This is my last reply on this.

Honestly, asking for "proof" of commentary bias is one of the dumbest things you can say on any cricket forum. This is exactly why I don’t waste time engaging with people who clearly aren’t sharp enough for a meaningful discussion. Picking one random line from my earlier post, twisting it, and trying to bait me into some silly back and forth, plus making up lies about what I said, is not how you’ll get my take on anything.

I’ll keep posting my thoughts like I always do. If you want to learn or improve, read them. If you don’t agree, that’s your loss, not mine. I’m not here for your off topic nonsense that you bring into every thread on this forum.

That’s pure rubbish

A lot of us here hold Ian Bishop in very high regard. He has given us some of the most iconic cricket moments as a commentator.

Besides his excellence on the mic, the man actually takes a very keen interest on even the most underrated of cricketers he comes across in his line of work. He gave an inside story on a guy like Hussain Talat to tell his story to the world. That’s how much this man loves cricket and wants to see teams like Pakistan grow and return to their former glory.

But you couldn’t care, you had to describe him as supposedly a hypocrite because all he said was Rizwan is a predominantly legside player and the Guyana Warriors had their plans wrong against him!

People like you who are watching it are probably stupid. That’s why you heard and imagined things that didn’t happen.

You amplified the misconception by saying ‘you watched a few games and he says things about PakistN players’. Maybe you feel Rizwan is many Pakistan players??

The post clearly shows you were far more concerned about the absence of Rizbar than Pakistan winning.

You continue to lie about who's being dishonest here. Just answer one question. Did you make that post about Babar + Rizwan and how they should have been given "a chance in this so-called new template" right after Pakistan beat UAE? (following a successful display in the batting department).

I don’t really care how highly you rate Ian Bishop, that’s your business. I’ve enjoyed his commentary plenty of times myself, but I also have every right to call him out whenever I feel his analysis is off. My opinion is based on what I hear game to game, and I’ll stick to that regardless of how much you want to defend him.

Rizwan and Babar had their chance again with the West Indies ODI tour. Rizwan was still captain.

Nothing was stopping these two to show they are different players even in ODI. They only came across as even worse than before.

Why should they be given a chance in the T20 side now that they have completely fallen off? @Caved12

You have every right but then you should be able to provide proof if you are making an accusation!

I can claim Ramiz Raja and Aamir Sohail are biased and have double standards.

I am ready to provide proof for it. Why don’t you have the courtesy to do the same? If you can provide it, we will contextualise it!

What did you think of Simon Doull when he called out Babar?
This thread has nothing to do with Simon Doull or Babar, and I’ve already addressed that in the past. I have no interest in discussing it further with someone behaving like you. First, provide proof of how you constantly misrepresent my posts here. Then, maybe we can have a proper discussion on any cricket topic. I’ve already entertained your nonsense enough and have consistently exposed the flaws in all your arguments. Try to learn and improve instead of repeating the same tired lines over and over.

But I rightly pointed out that Ian Bishop was mostly targeting Rizwan, and he wasn’t balanced in his views for other batters or applying the same standards on them
Again,

This is either a false accusation or is a complete misconception.

Ian Bishop did not target Rizwan. He didn’t even say a bad word about him. He was more annoyed with the Guyana bowlers for not realising the batter is a leg-side heavy player. There was no ‘targeting’ or bias. If anything, the hostility was towards the Guyana bowlers and not the Pakistan player.

Yet you read this as double standards/biased?

I watched a few games and noticed that Ian Bishop was quite critical of the Pakistani players in this league. He kept pointing out their mistakes, while praising West Indian players even when they were making the same errors. It felt a bit strange listening to his commentary during those matches.

Both statements are correct and I stand by them. You’re just twisting my words now because I’ve already exposed you and dismantled all your weak arguments.

Imagine twisting your own words as proven from the two separate posts above, and then accusing others of ‘twisting my words’?!

Dude, it’s you who’s twisting your own words! Do you have Annatar syndrome? Do you torture Calabrimbor and then tell him that it’s Calabrimbor who is torturing himself??

Was that under Caved12 or under a different alias?

Sure @mominsaigol will verify this for us.
Guys @Rana And @topspin i found it. I knew i always take ss. I was wondering how I slipped up. Anyway.

Now to back topspin this is what caved said.

1000031561.jpg

^^ This is the playing 11 you @Caved12 mentioned. Like I told rana and topspin earlier, nowhere does it mention that this is an odi or t20 11.

Now assuming this is an odi 11 considering rizzu is batting at 5, you outright dropped saim for Imam in a previous comment tied to a t20 thread.

Here you later claimed that you aren't dropping saim after a poster outright exposed why dropping saim for Imam is a horrible idea.

Hence you changed and accustomed Imam at no 4.

Hence topspin did not lie.

Hence topspin did not lie.
@Caved12 your original lineup

^^ @Rana And @topspin

So idk why you are acting as if You never claimed saim should be dropped for Imam, you only changed your mind after another poster pointed it out.

And finally this is what @topspin said.

^^ Zero misrepresentation.

The only quote that is missing is the rizwan is the Bradman of t20 which wasnt stated here, it was stated in the rizwan is the Bradman of t20 thread. But caved said that as well.

I can fetch that ss too.

Idk why you are denying 3,4,5 lol. You put imam at 4 bro, accept it. And you kicked saim out for imam, and you admitted to it lol.

@mominsaigol, you’ve been jumping into conversations for the past few days while I’ve been responding to @Rana and @topspin in other threads. You keep involving yourself unnecessarily and repeating the same false claims they make.

Your posts aren’t worth my time and are just wasting everyone’s time with pointless discussions. I honestly can’t tell if you’re really confused or just pretending to be, just to drag the conversation on and on, even though the matter has already been discussed and settled by me.

We already wasted a whole day on this, and now it’s the same nonsense again. But I promise you, I’ll respond to your points in the next few posts and end this for good. Still, I’m sure you’ll keep replying with more baseless arguments and try to take the discussion in another useless direction.

First, share the link and full posts you’re referring to, and explain the context in which they were discussed. I will wait

So now you're pulling an @Ab Fan asking for the link? When the conversation clearly lists your playing 11? Followed by another ss that claims that you change your mind about saim not being in the playing 11 and will want Imam at no 4 instead?

Why do you need the full link when 2 ss are enough considering both ss verbatim state that you forgot about saim and originally excluded him from your 11? Then changed your mind to accommodate saim at opening and imam at no 4?

@mominsaigol I honestly don’t have time to waste on this. Since you found that thread, please just share the link. It should be very easy for you. The moment you share the link to those posts, everything will become clear and it will further expose your lies

GUYS, ARE YOU DONE DERAILING THE THREAD?

NOBODY CARES ABOUT SAIM AND IMAM IN THIS THREAD...

LEAVE THIS THREAD CLEAN FOR OTHERS, OR WE MIGHT HAVE TO CLOSE THIS THREAD AS WELL.

So sorry, @BouncerGuy — please allow me this one post in this thread to close this chapter since they started this here

It’s very simple, because I have a good memory and remember exactly what I posted. I tried to find that post but couldn’t, and @mominsaigol is taking too long. I don’t have that much time right now, my little one just woke up and needs my attention.

The first post was a discussion about the ODI team. I clearly mentioned in that thread that the discussion was about the next World Cup and the ODI lineup. In the first list, I forgot to include Saim, since he had just come back from injury and was struggling a bit. It completely slipped my mind. But it’s unbelievable that someone would think or assume that I completely dropped him from the squad and wanted Imam to replace Saim in all white ball cricket. That’s just nonsense.

The other post here clearly shows that I included Saim in my ODI lineup. That post was simply a reply to my own earlier post where I had shared the ODI line up. In that thread, I wasn’t debating with anyone, I was just sharing my thoughts and discussing a few things. @Rana, @topspin, and @mominsaigol know this, but they’re twisting my words and trying to drag this into a pointless debate.

The lie about me wanting Imam in all white ball formats wasn’t just mentioned in Saim’s thread, they kept repeating it in different threads for weeks. I chose not to reply because I knew they would twist everything and turn it into an endless argument. No one even discusses Imam for the T20 lineup and they know that. And absolutely no one would permanently drop Saim from the white ball squad. Just one piece of nonsense after another.

Here’s the link where @topspin made that false claim — post number 1466. also read @mominsaigol’s reply, post number 1482 where he told another lie, saying that I had Rizwan opening and Agha batting at 3. But the screenshots above clearly show that I didn’t do that at all. In fact, the screenshots clearly show that I had Saim in the lineup, which should have ended the discussion right there. But they’re just trying to act smart and keep it going.

@Rana @topspin

I hold Ian Bishop in high regard. And I will hold both of you responsible if he gets insulted on this forum. The way you are praising him will make Dr. Contrarion envious and he would start making derogatory posts about him as a result.

Let me guess, somewhere along the line Ian Bishop made comments about Babar, Rizwan or Misbah? Hence the drama about him recently?
