With two matches confirmed he can surely score another 150 runs.

And with the semis he can add more runs to his tally.

that is a massssive list just to be a part of .. abs legands in there .. Lara, Ponting, ABD, SRT, amazing... i seriously hope Babar can turn the tables and take his game to a level above ... break the big4 and claim himself a spot in the 4... ..... long way to go in tests ... but in LOI he is above Root, par with smith , behind kholi n willaimson

Babar Azam plays at such a Poor Strike Rate. Tendulkar had a Strike state of 20+ over him during a tournament played 23 years ago during the era of No T20s or other slam bang Cricket.

88 S/R is not bad for a no. 3 who averages 53+

You are looking at average

Look at the right column.

99 WC had bowler friendly pitches. Can’t compare

LOL, speaking of the 1999 WC, Sachin played at an SR of 91 odd compared to Ponting’s SR of 66.54

This was after his father passed away after India’s first match, and he had to come back to India immediately after that. And he still maintained an average of 42 odd which was higher than Ponting’s average of 39 odd in the tournament.

Babar is in great company.

Shame he didn’t have more matches otherwise I believe he would’ve matches Tendulkar’s record.

He played 8 innings, compared to Sachin’s 7 innings.

What’s the strike rate if you exclude 140 odd against kenya at 138 s/r?

Sachin was poor throughout 1999 WC barring the match against Kenya.

Babar's ODI credentials is never a doubt ....an ATG in the making in this format. It is in tests that the 'Sachin of Pakistan' has to improve dramatically.By the time Sachin turned 25 , he had 16 100s at
55 avg: . Babar with only 1 100 as of now with 35 avg: would have to turn it around in massive proportions to over come Sachin.

Nobody is calling him sachin of Pakistan and neither can he become. He might not even become younus or Miandad in tests

I would be happy if he can end up with 20-25 test hundreds at around 50 average and he can do that he is already improving in tests

have come across a few Pakistanis online who claims so . Nevertheless he is a special talent .... mighty impressed with this guy. A few of my friends too expressed the same opinion ...

No one does that. I haven’t seen anyone doing that for tests

By the time Sachin turned 25, he had played cricket for 9 years already. He was a veteran whereas Babar is just starting his test career.

Babar averags 50+ in tests since last 18 months so he is getting there slowly.

I have never seen a better batsman than Babar since days of Mohammed Yousuf, Saeed Anwar, and Inzamam. A few more players like Babar and Pakistan can have a heavyweight batting side.
