Shreyas Iyer and Nitesh Rana should be in place of its and bits players like Shankar and maybe Pandya.
 
Rahane has played a very good innings here , This should prove to be a match winnings innings

There is so much insecurity there, as if Dhoni is going to play forever! Just to fulfill the brand/financial demands of Seniors and Broadcasters we have to see this happening in Indian Cricket! Just look at these blind fans who fall in the trap of so-called "experience"/"guidance" kind of things! Same high quality Australian players just fazed out appropriately and continuously won the world cups with different teams, and we still see this in India! Kohli will continue to look out for Dhoni's guidance until he his captain (by the time he learns to captain himself his prime might be over!) Look at the way they mock at Pant... So at last when Dhoni retires you will want to completely demoralize Pant, so that we have to start searching for some other guy! I think these people have least interest towards team doing well...

Buhahaha! So this is the first match in like 2 years since his debut he managed to finish a game successfully and the hack fans are celebrating? I wouldn't mind getting owned once in two years though! :)))

I wonder how many matches he has got to keep finishing! So brutal at a 21 year old budding talent who hardly played 30 international matches (all formats put together) and its harsh to count 50 IPL matches he has played so far! IPL is only to showcase your talent! Only players who are in convenient positions (convenient teams) can develop consistency in T20s (CSK is one such team! I am sure Pant would have excelled well if he was playing in that team but of course with Dhoni's grace which is unlikely anyways :) )

If same yardstick was applied to Dhoni at the start of his career, then Partiv Patel (who had better talent than Dinesh Kartik at least!) who made debut earlier than Dhoni should have been persisted as Dhoni was also inconsistent in his earlier days! Thankfully Ganguly saw special talent in Dhoni and he was so good at managing the resources!
 
Manish Pandey finally playing with some promise. This is what Indian middle order needed. Too bad, he sucked badly when he was given the opportunities.

Today Pandey is playing like a possessed man.
 
Match winning players are rare , they are maximum 2 - 3 or at most max 4 in a XI . They will not be consistent , but you have to persist with them. A lot depends on captains . How bold they are.

Parthiv Patel has looked a different player in recent matches - it's only taken him about a decade+ but he's finally learning how to play a T20 innings.

he actually bat well in power play overs.. it's after that he struggles.. though he played well in last game...
 
I still won't get carried about Partiv Patel... He should be picked by a team which has good bowling attack and bowler-friendly home pitch! That's when his pinch hitting can be effective and the bowling can cover the deficiencies of batting!

RCB is a team which requires 2 high quality genuine Top Openers, only then Kohli at 3 & ABD at 4 can give them that threatening (for opposition) and safety (for themselves). Bangalore Pitch just demands that much! They had Chris Gayle who was good for that job and they only required another such equally good opener (They tried guys like Dilshan, etc even in the seasons where they reached finals!) I know there are constraints in picking IPL teams and you won't get all your desired players! But RCB's preference (looking at their home pitch) should have been 2 openers compulsory (they did not utilize Watson properly, they gave him additional burden of bowling and used him in middle order most times!) Rahul would have been perfect but they messed with him also and now he is out of the team!

After that 4 batsmen, then they can have any average batsmen at best. Then even their thin bowling could have somehow managed (with just Chahal) They could have ensured wins in most of their 8 home games with this recipe... But RCB management is the most hopeless in terms of managing resources!
 
Partiv cannot bat after powerplay (or at least after scoring 50-60). But there are Butler, Warner, Bairstow, Watson, etc who remain hunger till the end of the innings! They stay focused (doesn't mean that they won't remain aggressive!) That's the difference!
 
And Kohli as opener is disaster! For this alone RCB deserves to be in the bottom of the table! This can affect Kohli in World Cup too...! And this is the reason why IPL-haters will come with guns attacking on IPL (forgetting the positives it has given to Indian Cricket- the fitness, athleticism, fielding improvement, bowling, death bowling, wrist spin, pressure handling, chasing-ability, etc)

Stupidity/Mistakes in cricket can happen in IPL also just like it can happen even in International cricket tours (e.g., Shastri/Kohli debacle in England/RSA, Kumble/Kohli misunderstandings in Champions Trophy, etc) OR even in your first coaching school...! So you can't attack the whole body for this! Criticize Kohli the Captain, RCB the management, that's fair!

Parthiv is a good choice . He does not consume one international player slot , and goes after the bowling. He is not someone who can score big , but can get quick 20 and 30 . I think KKR should go for him in the next IPL.
 
I hope so close to the WC, this IPL isn't a reflection of key Indian players - none Sharma, Kuldeep, Shami, Dhawan seems to be in top form.

Actually Dhawan and Shami are in good form. Trust me I watch a lot of this pyjama league. So can see underneath the nonsense.
 
Kohli swearing and gestturing stuff towards Rahul first and now Ashwin. I will never like this guy because of reasons like this, he’s captain of the national team.
 
I never seen Nicholas hitting well, even today when I start to watch he was on 40 odds on 20 odd balls then after he struggles to hit.. I must have some curse on him..

that's not towards Ashwin, it's more against Umesh, that was a length ball, a proper batsman should've send that to Six.. Yadav almost give Kohli to another heart attack..
