Mumbai Indians defeat Chennai Super Kings by one run to win IPL title

Accept it viru bhai ,you visit ipl threads secretly.:babar

Not even die hard IPL fans visit IPL threads and you are expecting me to visit these match threads lol? Look at the number of replies in this thread and compare it to any match of fun and laughter bilateral series which India played against Australia recently. It shows the priority of so called IPL fans who make fun of international cricket clearly. :inti

identify the real hack.
but but pandya and pant are hack DK is best.

DK is currently better than Rishabh Pant both as a LOI batsman and wicketkeeper. You can cry all you want but indian selectors have already selected DK for the world cup. Pant will be selected only if one of these two real wicketkeeper batsman gets injured. So please pray for their injury so that your new hero Pant can play in the world cup. :inti

The way you are criticizing and mocking a budding player and an important player (considering his role!) isn't sensible either! Even Lance Klusener took 3 years to create the magic he did and didn't last longer after that - has just 2 centuries & 19 fifties in ODIs (saying this because you expect pure batsman and pure bowler like performances from alrounders! The definition of alrounder, I guess is different for you! Its better ODI is played for just 40 overs and only 4 bowlers bowl 10 overs so that 5th bowler don't come to equation at all! There is a reason why they have 7th batsman/5th bowler quotient in cricket to spice up things and its difficult to fit a player in that role!) A seasoned alrounder like Jacques Kallis couldn't contribute like Lance Klusener in world cups! Even Neil Johnson of Zimbabwe did mini miracle compared to that. Its a rare breed (even for Non-SC teams to produce these type of players and draw effective contributions from them! For e.g., Marcos Stoinis didn't perform even 50% of Pandya in IPL, I know you won't consider/rate performances of players in this league! That's why I asked you why Dhoni is giving so much importance to this league and using it as a tool to keep himself alive?)

But these younger players should not be given any opportunity to showcase their talent, because IPL has to be banned and then Dhoni & co will continue to block the way and don't give them opportunity to even knock the doors (because nobody cares for any other domestic leagues in the country, and usually they will be mocked as flat track bullies or useless cricketers - For e.g., Jadeja who got like thousand triple centuries in Ranji! Anyhow he at least learnt how to bowl & field after being frustrated about his batting!) and suddenly one day they joyfully retire and someone else is thrown into the position who behave like frog thrown into the ocean!

You certainly have not observed the faster growth of players like Bumrah, Kuldeep, Pandya, Pant, Kohli (RCB as player in the earlier editions), etc and what IPL did to them and what other domestic cricket couldn't do to them (with all due respect to Domestic Cricket which made them proper players first up, but it's about the next level - the intermediate level) And its sad to see the negative part of IPL where players like Dhoni have used to extend their career by relishing on weaker teams (weaker players/oppositions). But you are not commenting on that...

First learn about what mocking a player means then come back to me.

though I agree DK was wrong pick but the way you compare them was wrong.. DK after his comeback would be Apt.. (his stat may poor even then, I don't know)

DK has played few good knocks after his comeback. Expect DK to take India to home during a chase where a guy like Pant will throw his wicket going for a glory shot. India vs West Indies ODI series recently is a perfect example. That's the reason selectors have shown faith in DK. As I said, Pant's time will come but for the World Cup Dhoni and DK are better.

Contrary to what some fans believe he also can't be selected in the playing XI as a specialist batsman alone. May be in T20's he can be but not in ODI's. :inti

Another brilliant performance by Rishabh Pant.Anyone who does'nt recognise his talent should stick to gilli danda.

Chahal seems to be in better rhythm before WC compared to Kuldeep! (Unfortunately we don't have any other yardstick to measure Indian player's current form as of now)

I am happy for you today. Make sure you watch the big boys Dhoni and Karthik play in the World Cup. Till then enjoy your choti choti khushiyaan in a Pyjama League lol. :inti

Umesh got Kane confused - not sure if he should hit a four or six!!!!

Thanks to Kohli and yadav we got a fighting total.. This is the story of SRH this whole season, got flying starts in power play but struggles to finish it off always.. I think SRH scored most in power play overs but least in last 4 overs l..

also it tells how unlucky Kohli in this season..only won 4 tosses out of 14 (SRH also) and robbed a win against MI by not calling a no ball, and today umpires gifts a no ball to SRH...

SRH will win the game from here. Didn't expect anything else from RCB. They need a clear out next year. This AB/Kohli combination isn't working. Time to go down a different route. 1 should stay , 1 should be allowed to leave.

I say fire the Kaptaan from captaincy. All else will fall in place. New captain if chosen wisely will stop indulging AB.

80 from 50 balls , its very much possible , but they need to get in couple of really big overs here

that's heartbroken loss.. we lost too many game that should've won.. And that's a weird field placement against a spinner by KW.. So rooting for MI tomorrow..

Still KKR has their fortune in their own hand. This year, Rashid has been a failure from his high standard, still economical, but teams have found a way not to give him wickets.

We have big hearts like Lala. Will win one for your team. :)

Rashid was collared couple of times last year too. By KL and Gayle. But he recovered mid tournament. Teams clearly unleashed the their data guys on those footages.

This is the most satisfactory win for RCB in this season. Hopefully they will understand how to build a team instead of relying on superstars! IPL is all about giving confidence and showing faith in youngsters...

I think it's wrong to blame everything on Kohli. RCB were failing before Kohli. They need to change the way they recruit players and how they use them.

Also this AB and Kohli partnership isn't working. AB cannot be relied on in pressure situations and I think he will lose motivation in these T20 leagues soon. I think it's time for a change.

Ab and Kohli have no chemistry

CSK always has unknown players. Mohit sharma, Gony, Jakati, Ashwin, Tygai. Even now Chahar, Thakur, DHoni somehow puts together a match winning combination. Same watson after a couple of failures was dropped by RCB. Dhoni is all about consistent selection and back them. Kohli backs only fast bowlers. not batsmen. Also he doesn't handle spinners as well as Dhoni does. Regarless of conditions he will always use only seamers. He doesn't read the conditions. situation make decisiosn. Most of his decisions don't have any logic behind it.

That's why I think RCB need a change in terms of coaching as well.

Whilst Dhoni does back players. At times he becomes stubborn with his selections and won't change an out of form player. As a CSK fan I fear that this team will be kept around for too long and won't be reinvented. Cricket is a young man's game. Age will catch up with you eventually.

Once Dhoni is gone, CSK is gone as well. Dhoni/Fleming/Raina combo cannot do wonders forever.

If KKR wins today means bot KKR & MI will play again on Wednesday at Vizag, otherwise MI will face SH at their home.....

now we're in playoffs I'd like to see Stanlake in action.. Given we've weak batting line up we need both Williamson and Guptil, so it means Nabi sacrifice his spot for Stanlake and Abhishek Sharma comes in for Thambi.. 5th bowlers quote will be completed with Shankar, Sharma and Pathan (Williamson also)..
so my team for next match

1. Saha
2. Guptil
3. Williamson
4. Pandey
5. Pathan
6. Shankar
7. Abhishek Sharma
8. Rashid Khan
9. Bhuvi
10. khaleel
11. Stanlake

And Pathan due to his customary special innings in a season... Though he has really really bad game in last match hope they won't drop him next match..

Who told you that we hate or make fun of international cricket? It is International Matches + IPL for us! Not International vs. IPL as you think. If there was no IPL, we would have had some dummy routine series with Srilanka, WI, Bangladesh & Zimbabwe in the window period where only 10 to 15 players from a B/C team will be playing insignificant cricket and rest of the guys have some holiday! (and an odd guy like Binny would make merry giving us fake confidence!) You prefer this over 50+ guys getting equal chances in a fierce competition to improve the match fitness, form & bench-strength!

Calm down there. There were so many of these IPL fans here who claimed things like IPL can survive without international cricket, india can field 3 teams and play against each other, IPL can create superstars like English Premier League. These are some of the samples which I have heard from fans like you. May be you were too busy watching the cheerleaders when these fans were typing these replies here. :inti

As is frequently the case…change is good, and none of the major sports would be where they are today.
Once upon a time during Kerry Packer days many like you were opinion ODI format is crap. But today ODI is loved all over

I think this season could be end of CSK magic! With this kind of pitch and their aging players (including Dhoni) they will need altogether different structure and approach from next time! MI look favorites to win this season! They are miles ahead of rest of the teams as SRH is minus their key players & bowlers lost their color, only SRH could have stopped MI!

Yep CSK have a very old team. Their XI today:

Faf - 34;
Watson - 37;
Raina - 32;
Vijay 35;
Rayudu 33;
Dhoni 37;
Jadeja 30;
Bravo 35;
Chahal 26;
Harbhajan 38;
Tahir 40.

And RCB gave them the much needed booster in the first match! It was a masterstroke to have 1st match against RCB, that too at home with that pitch! They carried on the momentum! I think it should be Chahar in your post! He is the only eligible & performing guy in 20s... :)

CHENNAI 131/4 (20.0)
MUMBAI 69/2 (10.0) CRR: 6.9 REQ: 6.3
Mumbai need 63 runs in 60 balls

South Africa's World Cup plans have been dealt a blow after fast bowler Anrich Nortje was ruled out of the tournament because of a fractured thumb. Chris Morris has been called up as his replacement.Having overcome ankle and shoulder injuries over the course of the summer, Nortje made his international debut in March this year and subsequently won selection in South Africa's World Cup squad. Nortje, however, fractured his right thumb during a recent South Africa nets session, and it has now been confirmed that he would need six to eight weeks to make a full recovery

What black magic is this. He was not even in IPL and he got injured :))

He was dreaming of an IPL contract while he was practicing, that's the curse and hence the reason. If he had kept proper focus & patriotism towards International Cricket & WC, he would have been fine :))

Vijay Mallaya has no shame left. We live in such a hypocrite society where fans are ready to boycott matches where players from a certain country play but will support a team owned by a traitor like Mallya. How many more corrupt people are behind IPL?

Tax evaders and money launderers? Probably every single owner at least to a certain extent has indulged in such things.
