Hi Frndz,

Today i recd my SIDS Custom Monster bat. Delighted to see this bat, a real monster made exactly to my specs and my name on the back.

Willow: Looks good with 8 reasonable straight grains
Edges: Huge 45mm
Pickup: Light ( Really amazing considering huge size of bat)
Ping: Very good
Weight: Not sure, may be 2.11 or 2.12 but feels 2..10 in my hand

I was looking for a huge bat and got the same. Little delay from SIDS but overall i am very happy and satisfied with SIDS and would highly recommend them. Going to order another one from SIDS with Dhoni specs and edges 48mm.

All queries and criticism welcome.

I skyped Ali Bhai yesterday on he chose a real beast for me, I'm getting the whole mamba kit including bag , I'm probs going to pay by Wednesday so not sure when I'm going to receive it

Where is the spine? Why can't you weigh the bat? My guess its around the 2lb 14 mark.

What is the handle like? any shots?

It's certainly looks a big bat because of the massive edges but there also seems to be quite a lot of concaving which can reduce the size of the middle, in theory anyway.

Let us know how it Peforms after a few months.

I weighed it now, you are spot on, it is around 2.13 or 2.14 but pick up is really light and balance also good that's why i was guessing it around 2.11. Handle is average quality, not played any shots, knocking it now but the ping is amazing on this one.

You are right bro !!! Concaving is there which can reduce middle but this bat has still got a big middle and ping is amazing. I will let you know how it performs once i play few matches with this bat.

I am not sure what is that, i know only toe guards, this one is not a toe guard for sure. I don't have any experience of shoe goo, may be this is a shoe goo, not sure.

this isn't shoe goo, but its something like that, and i believe there's some sort of piece of carpet under that chemical ..... it looks sound.....

May be you are right Sarmad Bhai, the question is how long it would last, if it has a long life then this is better than toe-guard because toe-guard increases the weight and this one is very light not affecting the weight.

If it comes off get some sort heavy duty bond and cover the toe lol it actually makes it a lot more durable

Have dealt with Sids before with mixed reviews. Initially, their bat edges got smashed in easy similar to MB bat ranges below Bubber Sher (Sids bats were made at MB Malik factory, not sure if they still have them made their). Last I saw of their bats, they did improve the pressing which I must commend them on but bats are still over dried. The center on them is good but with overdried bats, you know the rest. Their soft goods stitching quality is good but still a far way off from competing with the likes of SS, SG, SF etc in terms of comfort.

And my advice, don't rely on Sids for custom made stuff. Its a big luck and chance that you will be happy/disappointed to get what you want. I never got my correct requirements.

And those 50MM bats are too heavily concaved, which means less meat is on the bat and reduced performance. I had one of their big edge top range bats, concaved to max the edges and reduced the sweet spot sizing and performance. For a top range bat, I was very disappointed that the middle size was like a grade 2 bat (the ping off the center was good though, gotta admit but sweet spot too small for top range bat)

Very well said Sir, the profile of my bat is exactly same as one of my Mlaik bat. One of my friend who knows all the pakistani bat manufacturers told me that SIDS bat are made by Malik.

May be i am lucky that i got my SIDS custom right and it is a decent one and at the moment ping on this one is amazing. You are right concaving is heavy which can result in small middle but for my bat middle is quite ok.

to make sure the edges don't get smashed in round them off.

Yes, their middles are good but sometimes the sizing of them is a bit small for the ranges.

What you gotta give Sids commend for, is that they know what people want, so they give them those massive looking bats. At the end of the day, they make money, so why not keep on doing it?

its not a toe guard, its some sticky substance at the bottom. I have a couple MB Malik plain bats with the same thing on it.
