Name one young player you are eagerly waiting for to make a debut

Is he the Indian u19 keeper? Oh God his constant gibberish was so annoying, and then he would drop a catch or miss a stumping and shut up for a bit and return to his usual self after an over or two.

Yeah that's the guy, apparently Kohli was a mouthful too during his U-19 days but he evolved have no hopes from the new 1.9 crore Delhi IPL star.

Hope he proves me wrong but he really is annoying and arrogant.

Even Ian Bishop ripped into him during the WC final. This is generally what happens when folks get fame before they reach a mature age. Hope he can turn around. A wicket-keeper/opener will be of great benefit to the Indian side.

As a keeper he is absolute garbage but he has power game and just might open for India if he evolves.

Asghar seems like a good bowler...BTW where the hell is Harris Sohail ??

Sami Aslam!!!

Even though he made his debut and looked impressive, but why on earth was he dropped😤

Hope he doesn't lose any confidence, he seems like good humble lad that doesn't care about glomour and looking like a star (Umar Akmal, Ahmed Shehzad)

Mohammef asghar. Team mngt and selectors wasted a golden chance. Should have launched this guy at the world T20!

Seen Hasan, very impressed - would have had in this tournament in a heart beat.

Can you enlighten us on the others?

Ahsan Ali - technically sound strokemaker, opening batsman from Karachi. Very early into his career, if he's to debut it will be 3-4 years down the line. There's a chance he can be fast tracked into the T20 team if selected for a PSL team and performs well.

Afraz Khoso - He's a left arm Malinga-like slinger from Sindh. Fairly accurate and quite pacy. Around 140-145k, potentially 145k+ with a few mechanical adjustments and strength work. I hope he's selected for a PSL team next year, quite exciting to watch.

Majid Ali - 6'4 bowler from Multan. He's around 138k-142k, swings the ball back and gets good bounce. If he learns to complete his action consistently, he will bowl 140k-145k consistently. Fluent action at the crease, needs work on his run up and follow through.

Also very early into his career. Unlikely we see him soon. He was the standout pacer in the last domestic T20 and had a very good FC season previous to that. He's fallen off a bit this season, perhaps to injury, or just a learning curve. But look for him to bounce back next season.

Joseph and Pope for the Windies, Washington Sundar for Ind, for England Mason Crane and for PK, Shadab Khan.

probably Usama Mir...just needs some polishing but he will do really well.

Enlighten us a bit on him please.
He's an attacking opening batsmen, who wicket keeps.

He did quite well for the U19's, he often got them off to quick start (SR 100+) in conditions unfamiliar too him.

There is one Indian bowler that has got my attention. Shardul Thakur...He isnt an express bowler tbf.Bowls at 135-140 Ks consistantly and moves the ball both ways. But He has a smooth action and uses lots of shoulder strength like many of aussies. From what i have seen of him, Thakur loves to bang the bowl short.

Plays for Mumbai Ranji team. He has got decent couple of years in domestic season. Got the wickets of Amla and Du plessis in the practice match last year.

Could be a decent new ball bowler for India in Tests.

Another bowler I'm looking forward and hoping to do well is Nathu Singh from Rajasthan. He comes from a very humble background.

Bowls at 140-145ks with good line and length. So far doesnt look like the spray guns like Yadav or Aaron. Hope he does well. Only time will tell.

Well babar is already in the team.

Now its time for saud shakeel.

Sadaf Hussain to see what all the fuss is about!

Other then him, am really excited for mohammad asghar

Want to see Hassan Ali in Tests and we need to give Hammad Azam another look/long-rope

From the Indian point of view,

Rishab Pant, aggressive 19 year old keeper batsman
Kuldeep Yadav, left-arm Chinaman
Hardik Pandya in Tests

Hammad had a pretty decent FC season recently

Both should be in and around the side along with Amad Butt/ Fahim Ashraf. Modern ODIs require long batting line ups and plenty of alrounders

We should give Hammad a look in Tests, these are his stats for the recent concluded Quaid-e-Azam trophy:

Batting

530 runs @ an average of 44.2, 1 hundred and 4 fifty's from 10 matches.

Bowling

20 wickets @ an average of 28.45

These are great numbers! have you by any chance watched him play in any of the matches Syed? Would be better if we can get some context of his performances

He wasn't handled right the last time he featured for pak and deserves a longer rope plus has earned it, bit weird how he's rarely on the radar considering we desperately need to develop a test quality all rounder who can bowl pace for crucial overseas tours.

Pretty shocking Junaids hasn't mentioned him :)) he's too busy trying to get the Big Bad Butt over and Umar lol

What do you think of Hammad MMHS

Can be tried in a 5123 combination as one of 2 all-rounders.

5 batsmen & 3 bowlers on absolute merit of their core area, WK on duel merit & the 2 all-rounders depending on condition. In that context, may be, depending on condition, PAK can pick 2 of Hammad, Yamin, Fahim, Amad, Nawaz, MoHa - even Aga Salman, Shadab Khan or Imad. Don't think Hammad makes the squad as 6th batsman or 4th bowler - but he can be part of a good combination.

WHICH'll never happen as long as Misbah is there - he might play 2 spinners at SCG, because he doesn't have in it to operate with 3 pacers - playing 2 medium pacers makes his degree of difficulty twice than playing 3 pacers. He'll simply kill his 3 regular bowlers & make the all-rounder pair specialist batsman.

Hammad should have played 100+ ODI by now, but partially for the Captains/strategy PAK used for ODI & mostly for the wickets of UAE, it wasn't to be the case.

Hammad, Yamin and Fahim need special nurturing as pace all rounders are hard to come by in our domestics. Amad Butt is Anwar Ali type allrounder, a better bowler than Anwar but a poorer batsman.

You complained about Atif Jabbar's FC bowling average of 45 and what He did this season ? 2 back to back tenfers and 3rd highest wicket taker.

None of the Allrounders you mentioned are international class Test allrounders and will never be. Don't have capacity. No matter how hard you groom Coal it will never become diamond. For a diamond it needs basic consituents and structure of diamond. If it doesn't have constitutents than groom till eternity it will never become diamond.

Saud Shakeel.

Mir Hamza- Surely can't be worse then Rahat Ali.

Sadaf Hussain. Highly unlikely to get a chance yet, maybe when he's around 33 and over the hill, PCB might give him a game or two.

Usman Salahudin- although he has already played for Pakistan, he was played in the wrong format by Waqar.
Should be in the team for the next test tour as competition for Asad Shafiqs position.

I have been following Atif closely this season. He does seem to have got hold of his talent. One more season like this and he'll have my vote. Abbas seems to have performed well too, so you do have an eye for talent, that I must give you. Let's see if your forecast for Amad But comes true. Will send you mithai personally if that happens.

Watch out for Shreyas Iyer, has all the makings of the next Virender Sehwag, what a season he has had, second highest ever aggregate in Ranji Trophy behind VVS and at a time when his mates were falling over like 9 pins at the other end in most games. Good against spin and pace, slightly suspect against good short pitched stuff( who isnt) but apart from that, has all the makings of a future star Should debut for India in this calendar year. Sarfaraz Khan is still very young, I would give him 2-3 years more to hone his skills and get rid of the baby fat. Avesh Khan looks the deal too, Kuldeep Yadav bowls good chinaman and not too many can read a chinaman's google

Shreyas Iyer is nothing like Sehwag . Plays cross batted shots , his stroke making is not clean . He will be found out at international level

I started supporting Abass when he was Averaging 38 :)

My case was clear. He had a great season with PTV and injustice was done with him by his own region by not picking him. Than he wasn't getting enough games.

So I wanted him to be highlighted and given due chance. And in last two seasons when he was given consistent chances he did deliver and averages came down significantly.

Though my vote will still be with Asif & Ali Imran and after 1 or 2 years with Ghulam and currently also with Junaid and Sadaf if he regains his form.

I hope I am totally wrong but Abass hasn't impressed me as a possible future Very Good/Excellent International bowler. Don't see any such ingredient. I hope I am totally wrong. He has worked very very hard and has faced hardships to be at this position.

Last Season Amad had an excellent Season with both Bat and Ball. His Batting Ave of 23 was very good considering he batted at number 8 and number 9 mostly and his highest 83* came at number 9 when HBL were 7-90 when he came on crease and ended up making 225 and than he took 6 wickets in that match and because of him HBL drew that match.

After getting dropped from Pakistan team Amad's confidence is all time low. He is on floor. His form has dipped and he had a very poor season.

He won't be next Broad, Woakes or Morris but He is a good prospect. His physical fitness is A* which no other allrounder has and he can bowl 138kph plus which no other allrounder can. So we need Fast Medium allrounder plus he is tallest of them all so not the easiest to hit on the up.

Hope he bats at 6 and 7 and develops his batting which is very raw at the moment due to less time spent at crease. Hope he regains his confidence and form. His batting needs work (definitely).

How close do you think he is to debuting?

Sadly fell apart recently after having a bad List A series with Pakistan A and than having average Fc season with late entry and than getting benched after 2 matches.

He may be picked vs West Indies in May-June if he plays for Pakistan A before that and scores heavily otherwise it would take 12-18 months.

Definitely Surely (InshaAllah) He will play for Pakistan.

I consider him Best under 23 domestic batsman in Pakistan and amongst lefthanders he is only slightly inferior to Haris that too because Haris has experience and tons under his belt.

Saud would be imp batsman in 2019 WC.

Inzamam seems to rate him as well, so hopefully not long till he's in the side.

Lungi Ngidi

Age - 20

A seriously bright prospect. It is still early days, but the Titans fast bowler seems to have it all. Perhaps most importantly, he is quick, quicker than Rabada. A lot of cricket fans would not have seen him play before, but he is one worth watching over the next two matches.

He's not quicker than Rabada and won't ever be.

1. Shadab Khan
2. Fakhar Zaman
3. Hussian Talat

Guys if you have watched school cricket; there are two exceptional talents that can be groomed. One is Hassan Khan a batting allrounder from BH school N Nazimabad and other Ammar Iqbal wkt keeper batsman from the same school. Need to be groomed at U17 and U19 levels

Damn. Good call lol. :ik

Shadab Khan given how impressive he's been in his recent A tours and during the PSL. Saad Ali also has been tearing it up in List A cricket and encouraging that he's been called up to the WI training camp.

I am eagerly waiting for Kamran Akmal to make his redebut after his fantastic showing in the PSL recently

Fahim ashraf in ODIs just to see whether he is the power hitter we need at jumber 7.

Rishabh Pant (IND)
Aiden Markram (SOU)
Sahibzaada Farhan (PAK)
Faheem Ashraf (PAK)

India :

Rishabh Pant
Shreyas Iyer
Sanju Samson
Basil Thampy

Whatever became of him? I remember he had a pretty strenuous action but had pace and was a good slinger in terms of accuracy. Yet another potential world class player lost to the system..

Where is Saud ? I don't want him lost in oblivion that is our domestics.

Being treated like a Masoom laid back Bacha.

He is too good and InshaAllah politics won't stop him from playing for Pakistan soon.

Karachi legends do not allow him to break into final eleven in televised matches because than there careers will be at stake. So he is doing " paani pilao " job ie 12th man role.

Just hope he gets offer from any departmental team and bats at number 4 for them. That would help his List A development aswell.

Seniority Culture and preferring inferior skilled senior hampers development of Younsters in Pakistan. By this time Danish Axiz should have played 20 FC matches but He has played 1 or no Fc match yet because seniors occupy main seats.
