No one here to celebrate the wicket on the first ball of the day?! Come on, peeps!

amazing finish last night and even better start today, hopefully we can wrap it up asap

Mickey experiencing a similar feeling as when he was with Pakistan...

lol well that was quick. Well done Naseem, well done Pakistan. First win in WTC.

Not a big fan of misbah but this is proper humiliation for mickey arthur .Msbah had a last laugh

Why was vishwa guy even trying to defend ***** hack it into orbit that’s a disgrace to tail Enders

Wth did Waqar mean when he said ‘coming back here in Karachi where it all went wrong’?

Congrats PAK - game ended even before I could start watching :(

This has to be one of the most clinical performance by PAK team in many years - without that 10 overs loss in Day 1, this game was over inside 4 days. Statistically, has to be one of the most rewarding Test as well for PAK players - 4 hundreds (1 not out), 2 5fors (& 1 4for). And, Rizwan's keeping was fantastic display to bust the myth that Sarfraz was carried for two years because of lack of options.

Kudos to Misbah as well - he figured out the key for winning in Asia better than Athur/Ul Haq for sure. And, finally - my MoM is the NSK groundsman; full marks to him for preparing such a wonderful track that produced 2 5fors & 2 4fors for pacers, along with 4 hundreds.

Wasim Khan indeed earning his salary .......

For all the talk of Sri Lanka being favourites, we have mercilessly beat the living daylights out of them here. I said before the series started that while Sri Lanka do start as marginal favourites, the teams are similar in terms of strength.

Very good win, even though apparently we are scratching the bottom of the barrel according to some posters here.

Sri Lanka were never favourites.

There are too many pessimistic people on this forum who try to bring down the team. I'm sure if we lose against England, they're gonna start wrist slitting again.

Three overs on the final day was all it took for Pakistan to seal a 263-run victory in the second Test against Sri Lanka in Karachi on Monday, 23 December.

It was Pakistan’s first Test victory on home soil in over 13 years; their last victory in Pakistan also came in Karachi, against West Indies in November 2006.

Naseem Shah, the 16-year-old, resumed the day on 3/31, and went on to dismiss Lasith Embuldeniya and Vishwa Fernando in his consecutive overs to seal the victory, with Yasir Shah claiming the big wicket of Oshada Fernando, the opener, who finished on 102.

The two wickets meant Shah ended with 5/31 – his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket – and with Shaheen Shah Afridi, the 19-year-old, claiming a five-for in the first-innings, the Test has been a good one for the young Pakistani pacemen.

Sri Lanka were in the Test for the first two days. They bundled out Pakistan for 191 in the first innings, and then posted a lead of 80. However, thereafter, it was all Pakistan.

Centuries from Shan Masood, Abid Ali, Azhar Ali and Babar Azam helped the home side post 555/3 declared in the second innings, and bogged down by the weight of runs, the Sri Lankan batsmen crumbled.

They were reduced to 212/7 by stumps on the fourth day, with Oshada’s century and Niroshan Dickwella’s half-century their only displays of resistance, and on resumption on the fifth morning, they just weren’t allowed to muster a fightback.

The series victory means Pakistan move up to No.3 on the ICC World Test Championship table, with 80 points from their four matches. Sri Lanka are level on points after four matches as well, but are fourth on the table due to their inferior runs-per-wicket ratio.

This is the same Sri Lankan team which beat SA in SA. This victory should not be underestimated especially given that we had an inexperienced bowling attack

So true my husband calls the forum wrist splitters.......

Naseem and Shaheen.

It is safe to say the era of Shahs has arrived.

although we won handsomely, lack of a wicket taking spinner is worrying ... Yasir Shah was flat as a pancake... so useless .... we need to bring in a cracker of a spinner

problem is we dont see any in pipeline ....

I had a feeling yesterday that Naseem will get a fifer as wrote in the match thread too when he had two wickets and came onto ball.

Glad shaheen (1st inns) and Naseem in 2nd inns took 5 fors. Hopefully they can get some more wickets against bangladesh so we can have some confidence with out bowlers for the england series in the summer.

As they have won the test match riding on the impetus delivered by a debutant Abid Ali rather than some of our experienced players who have been riders on others' shoulders all their careers, hoping for the best and expecting the worst.

As like other wins, they will hide poor strategies of Misbah and Waqar and their huge bhunds[mishaps] batting first on a moist wicket, fear of batting at the last, shielding Harris Sohail by sending in Rizwan in the second innings, degradation in Yasir Shah's bowling, still not giving chance to Fawad Alam, Azhar Ali's joke captainccy and spread out field against a timid batting that was needed to be wrapped up in the fourth day, sh*tty performance in the last overseas tour etc... . Next tour happens to be overseas and again we are slated to lose badly with Azhar Ali as captain.

Who would you confidently replace Azar Ali with as captain ?

Certain man ITT maybe wont like this but perhaps he should - there is a lot to be positive about concerning Pakistani cricket right now
Naseem shah is bona fide elite and this pathetic meme that Pakistani cricket is going to ever go the same way as Pakistani hockey is frankly ridiculous. Hockey is a dumb non -sport and is not comparable in any way with cricket. Just be thankful you guys have unearthed another treasure in naseem shah. Most countries would kill for your fast bowling stocks

Man, I was on my way to the stadium when the match ended. On my way to watch my first ever cricket match, and I was literally a few hundred feets away.
