great cameo so far from Umar akmal. Salman Butt's innings was a very pathetic one. He left Lahore Whites at all see with his 30 balls 20.

2 fours and 2 sixes from Umar so far has improve LW score.

Akmal knows tat he's in contention for LOIs.

Trying his best to convince the selectors

Salman Butt with a selfish 22 off 36. Disgusting innings.

Umar Akmal going nicely.

On a side note, Multan Stadium is one of the most well put together grounds in Pakistan.

Not a concrete jungle like other places.

You can see lack for power hitting at domestic level as well, ball hardly goes to the boundary. And like PSL, Umar is the only one who can hit sixes consistently :(

Also like in PSL, there are way too many spinners, most of them are average too. Pakistan has become India of 90s, more like BD of 200s. Very average standards of bowling, from a fast bowler dominating side to a spin oriented attack even at domestic level, this is death of Pakistan Cricket as we know it... Things are lot worse than people realize

hits Shadab for straight :six

Shadab is a very good offie make no mistake.

50 up for Umar with a delightful :four. How can this guy be left out of national team is beyond me.

Haha akmal raising his name for the ODI SQUAD...with 2 n.o's and 81...and now 50*..

Poor shezi

He is a wrist spinner not an offie, a leg spinner BTW, bowls lot more googlies

seen a lot of his deliveries come in?:P he is young isn;t? good prospect for Pakistan. he can turn the ball and is young. should be making to Pakistan team soon. If I'm not wrong he is already in the A squad to tour Zim?

This has been an incredible knock. Lahore Whites were 51 after 10 and now they stand 120+ and they have still 3 overs left. This is why you need players like him in the team.

I saw him first time today, bowled decently. He was one of the better spinner they had today. Pakistan has to bring more variety in LOI spin department. All left arm attack is too one dimensional. Considering how many spinners we have seen in these domestic, there is no reason to go with all SLA. They are some what successful in domestic, because Pakistan has very few lefties and weakness against out swing or spin away from the body. At international level you cannot have two in a match.

:hat-rick of :sixes this time out of the stadium. Yasir Arafat is getting phainty of his lifetime.

4 sixes in a row :14:

How Pakistan manage to get him out of LOI?? :13:

34 run over, and that too against a very experience T20 bowler

Agree 10000%

Lahore Whites before UA arrived 51 after 10

now 170 with few balls to go..

:afridi

Umar sent 6 messages to 6 individuals with those 6 boundaries in an over

1.Inzi bhai select me
2.Sharyar saab select me
3.Najam saab slect me
4.Mickey select me
5.Azhar bhai select me. I'll win matches for you
6.Shezi bhai I am going to play against WI...Bye bye.Catch you at national one day cup.

Haha

what an inning from umer . pakistan need this kind of dinemic player on number 3 position

Umar doing his best to distinguish himself from the likes of Shehzad. I hate it when the two get grouped together. Shehzad is a worse version of Misbah/Azhar (lower S/R, lower average than both) in ODIs.

As I said in another thread, Pakistan best batsmen are Umar and Babar. They have to play all format...

You cannot make a blockbuster movie by casting Anupam Kher or Naseer Ul Din Shah as lead role, he is a very good support actor but not a lead hero...Same goes for Azhar, Malik, Sarfraz, Hafeez these guys are support guys, they cannot be main show...Pakistan and probably Misbah/Waqar made biggest mistake by kicking Umar out of test team some 5 years ago, your best talent has to play test, that's where you learn temperament. This year they did same thing with Babar, he was not part of test team, which was a major blunder, he will not be part of NZ/AUS tour, that will set him back another two years...

Smart teams, invest in their top talent, Pakistan throw them in the Junkle(aka Domestic)... We are worst in nurturing the talent :po:

How players like Awais, Mukhter even make PAK squad is beyond surprise to me. Might have played a blinder in some domestic match, but don't the selectors have eyes?

If selectors and think tank had eyes, why they would have benched Sami and played Shaun and Hafeez ahead of him??

Why they had thrown Umar from test team so early??

I don't think Pakistanis work on any principle or process/method... Its wild wild west, lot of corruption, bit of gut and whoever end up showing success in first few attempts...

Yeah I don't get when ex players and fans put them in same bucket [emoji83][emoji83][emoji83]

Let's be clearly one is atleast talented other is not. Attitude or no attitude [emoji849][emoji849][emoji849]

By the way this Multan ground is awesome. It has spin and seam: a true sporting wicket.

Not only this stands are good too and plus the green lush field probably best ground of pakistan

But the wicket is pathetically dull. Today, Umar played an unreal innings, otherwise 3 of the best domestic players Kamran, Butt & Amin are struggling for timing here.

The delusion runs strong in umar akmal fans. Every time he scores they seem to forget he was averaging 18 on his last year and a half before being dropped. I accept that he has the capacity to improve, but looking at the comments here you would think some grave injustice is being highlighted with him being deservedly dropped.

Not fan of unar akmal but in this tournament he has looked totally different

Why they did not drop Sarfraz, Malik, Hafeez? - what exactly they have done in last 2 years?? - And how many of these useless players Pakistan can afford??

As I said Pakistan biggest mistake was kicking Umar out from test team, you invest or double down on your best talent not through him out, specially Pakistan who has such a drought and hard time finding batsmen who can play seamers.

Now Babar will go the same route. He has to play test cricket. We lost Umar and Harris, much better player of their generation because we threw them out in domestic for too long. This strategy of throwing talented youngsters to domestic and test cricket for average sensor has led us to no 9 team. We don't have modern batsmen because we never invested in them [emoji84][emoji84][emoji84]

Which genius is making Hammad bat at number 7? Our domestic system has really messed up Hammad. He needs to move away from Rawalpindi and play in a side where he bats at 6 at the lowest.

Shazaib has lost quite a lot of weight. Good to see. He is batting with a bit of maturity now rather then going for every single bowl.

Yeah he has looked pretty good today. This Karachi blues team overall batting is too weak though. There is not much in it other than Shahzaib and Fawad.

Mindless logic

Umar was thrown out of test team due to consecutive failures both home and abroad

Shafiq and Azhar came in and did well and hence made a place in the side especially off the back of the spot fixing scandal

Or are you suggesting that the selectors should have stuck with Umar Akmals failures in the hope that he will eventually succeed and ignore the performing and deserving batsmen?

There is no way in hell Umar Akmal would have given us such consistent performances.

The decision to drop him bore fruit. We are number 1 test team in the world

Maybe we should have done same in ODIs as well

Shahzaib again carrying his team alone. 3rd 50 in 4 matches MA SHA ALLAH :).

Bilal Asif batting above Yamin. What?

Just how ignorant are our domestic coaches.

He has toiled hard all these years and not had a whinge fest like others. Deserves his chance

I haven't gotten the chance to work but is his game still same or has he actually worked on his game and tigtened his etc hour?
