Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - Mohammad Rizwan (captain, wicketkeeper), Junaid Khan (vice-captain), Arshad Iqbal, Asif Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imran Khan Snr, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Haris (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Mohsin, Sahibzada Farhan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Usman Khan Shinwari, Wahab Riaz and Zohaib Khan.

Sindh - Sarfaraz Ahmed (captain, wicketkeeper), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Ahsan Ali, Anwar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Azam Khan, Danish Aziz, Ghulam Mudassir, Hassan Khan, Khurram Manzoor, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Asghar, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Taha, Sharjeel Khan and Sohail Khan.

1. Catch by Azam Khan for Fakhar Zaman’s wicket was fantastic.
2. Great fielding by Hasnain at the boundary, stopping a 4 and saving 2 runs for the team with a dive and well-timed backwards throw mid-air.
3. Haris looked very shaky today. I have been saying for a long time and maintain that Rohail is ahead of him development wise in all facets, even power hitting. Nevertheless, I hope he gets more chances and does better in the next game.

Sindh won the toss and elected to field first

Azam Khan running and diving left and right, throwing himself all over the place to stop the ball. Still people question his fitness. Possibly the best fielder for Sindh today (other notable fielders are Hasnain and Asad Shafiq).

People are spot on when they question his fitness. He isn't fit nor is he a good fielder. Has dived over two balls already today. And this is from the parts I have watched.

His fielding had been outstanding today. Maybe you should argue this with the commentators, who unanimously agree he has set the standard in the field today.

Potentially Man of the Match knock by Shinwari if KPK can bowl Sindh out.

Exciting match. With Shaheen in the bowling lineup you know anything is possible, and you always have that hope even with a low score. When is the last time fans felt that way about a bowler? It’s a great feeling.

Obviously, he proves us right straight away by dispatching Sharjeel in an exceedingly economical over.

Sindh has begun collapsing already, it’s time for Sarfaraz to prove his mettle or be dispatched forever.

Impressive bowling from all 3 pacers of KPK who have bowled till now. Again upto the youngsters of Sindh, Danish and Hassan to get them close to the total.

Looking forward to how Hassan bat's here I have loved the way he looked this tourney could be a perfect odi number 7 for us in future provided his bowling also comes through

Got 2 wickets for 21 in 4 overs as well today.

After to successful matches for Hassan Khan at no 7, Sindh management thought why not send Sohail Khan at that number. :genius

Good on him. I remember 4-5 years back watching Beacon house vs St Patts game and Hassan batted like Viv maybe the quality overall was poor but he looked like a giant among men in that game been a fan since.

Wow! Sindh struggling big time, Hassan Khan run out.

Hassan Khan played from which side out of curiosity?

34/7 now, not to forget the NRR can come into play for the semi finals spot. CP improved their’s yesterday.

Good captaincy from Rizwan. Rather than saving Shaheen, he realizes that one or two wickets here will completely seal the fate for Sindh's team.

Impressive from Danish till now. If it wasnt for Hassan Khan runout, Sindh would have been in much better situation currently.

Extraordinary catch from Rizwan, possibly the best of the year in any format of cricket

What's with captains giving spinners the final over  Hafeez almost lost KP a match early in the tournament too in the last over.

What a catch from rizwan proberly catch of the year easily catch of the tournament.what a great knock by danish aziz one of the best in the touanement that's how you handle pressure star in the making

Danish Aziz has announced himself handsomely.
Helluva knock. Came in at 34-6 and scored an unbeaten 72 at 9 RPO. Clean hitting no mishits at all. Wow.

Excellent knock from danish but rizwan captaincy should be questioned.
Basically KPK went with four bowlers and it was an issue of the team selection. With four bowlers Rizwan's captaincy was spot on considering the low score and he succeeded too with 7 wickets for 37 odd. At that time he had a decision to make. Either to bowl main bowlers and get the win quickly or use part timers when Danish was not set but take the match till the end. He went with the attacking mindset but it cost him the match mainly because of Danish and secondly the team selection.
Actually it is quite good that these kind of defeats happen to captains in the domestic tournaments. They will definitely take lessons from the defeats.

Selectors should tab on such knocks when selecting rather then just looking at half baked excel sheets such knocks shows a player ticker.

Wow Danish Wow.......take a bow......single handedly won the match in a tricky wicket......against SINWARI Saheen Arshad Imran......

This lad got almost 30 ave @ 92 SR.......HIS bowling is a concern though

Danish aziz batting style is pretty similar to usman khawaja .

Hopefully sindh cancerous treatment to young players improve after today's performance.

I am actually happy that this kind of defeat happened in a low-stake match. KPK is already in a good position to qualify for semis and plus it is a domestic tournament. Noody wants to see Pakistan lose these kind of matches.

Rizwan catch is one of the best catches I have ever seen, look at how much distance he covered (Basically ran all the way from cover to mid on)

New talent from Karachi had completely dried up... Good to see Danish emerge on the scene.

He is already 24 years old though (officially) and has hopeless numbers in FC and List A. Impressive T20 numbers though.

Agree with it but all the top captain nowadays very cautious for last 4 overs .Rizwan had a option of using malik in middle over but he left too many overs at death to part timer like musadiq ,ifti .

What a find but I am sorry with Misbah at the helm and given where Danish is from it will be a tough battle to get hom in the side

Finally Imran Khan proposed domestic structure is exposing all these senior players...

I think it was right choice

He reminds me of Asif Mujtaba

Pakistan talent is thier the system will get rid of the elders it was a proper knock all over the ground

If anyone he played from game one he proberly would have played against Zimbabwe

Yes basically you are pointing out the same fact. In the middle overs Rizwan went for the kill. Instead he could have dragged the match till end by bowling Malik and Musadiq early. But if that happened and KPK would have lost too then everybody would have blamed defensive captaincy and tbh that is the worst way to lose.
In hindsight it is easy to criticize Rizwan but main learning is that attacking mindset can also lose you matches from winning positions in T20 format. There was a reason that Dhoni was successful in winning matches by dragging then till the end. Funnily even Misbah succeeded sometimes with that strategy. Loss is loss at the end of the day but this victory should be given to Danish's brilliance. It would be really unfair to not discuss that aspect of the game.

Can't blame Rizwan's captaincy .....it was Danish Aziz 's brilliance that took the game
away

Dashing Danish stuns Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Rawalpindi, 13 October 2020:

A stunning 72 not out by Danish Aziz sealed an astonishing victory for Sindh as they defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by two wickets in the 23rd match of the National T20 Cup at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old Karachi-born took his team over the line with a six on the last ball.

Sindh required 19 off the last over when Khyber Pakhtunkhwa captain Mohammad Rizwan handed the ball to Iftikhar Ahmed to bowl right-arm medium fast.

Danish dispatched Iftikhar for a four on the first delivery before the equation reduced to 15 off the last three balls as the second and third ball turned out to be dots.

Danish then struck two towering sixes down the ground with a four on the long-off sandwiched between them.

Speaking about his man-of-the-match performance, Danish said: “It looked a bit difficult when the match came down to the last three balls. I was anticipating fuller deliveries so I decided to hit the ball down the ground.

“My plan was to bat until the end of the innings. When Anwar Ali walked into bat with me, we decided to rotate the strike initially before punishing bad balls.”

Danish spanked eight fours and four sixes and his 47-ball stay at the crease included a match-defining 77-run alliance with Anwar Ali, who made 33 off 32.

The two had come together after Hassan Khan was run out without facing a delivery on the last ball of the eighth over.

That the match had to be decided on the last ball was because Usman Shinwari who after recording his best score accounted for Khurram Manzoor (13 off 11), Sarfaraz Ahmed (13 off 13) and Sohail Khan (o off two) as Sindh slipped from 32 for three to 34 for six.

Sindh, in their chase of 139, were dealt an early blow as Shaheen Afridi, the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 16 scalps at 11.25, accounted for Sharjeel Khan on the second ball.

His new-ball partner Imran Khan dismissed Asad Shafiq and Azam Khan in back-to-back overs – the second and fourth of the innings.

Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after being asked to bat, were driven to a respectable total of 138 for nine by Usman who made an unbeaten 15-ball 36 with the help of three sixes and two fours.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were struggling at 87 for seven before Usman stitched a 29-run partnership – the best of the innings - with Shaheen. He followed it up with a 20-run stand with Imran Khan, contributing all 20 runs in it accumulated over just six balls.

Musadiq Ahmed, who batted at seven, was the other notable run-getter with a 14-ball 25 (two fours and two sixes) in an innings in which Sohail, Hassan and Mohammad Hasnain took two wickets apiece.

Scores in brief:

Sindh beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by two wickets

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 138-9, 20 overs (Usman Shinwari 36 not out, Musadiq Ahmed 25; Sohail Khan 2-12, Hassan Khan 2-21, Mohammad Hasnain 2-36)

Sindh 140-8, 20 overs (Danish Aziz 72 not out, Anwar Ali 33; Usman Shinwari 3-20, Imran Khan 2-27)
