CPL as you mentioned CPL. Who were the bowlers he was bossing against? no disrespect to Saim but he just got failed last month in emerging asia cup while Imam is one of the 2,3 batters in the world averging over 50.
 
I have already said Abdullah Shafique has a weakness against slow left arm spin similarly to babar.

But he needs to show more intent espically knowing that Abdullah is the Junior out of the two.

It's because of this obsession of playing full strength sides in bilaterals . And going by PSL, Test match numbers to select for ODIs

There are a few names from Pakistan Cup that I thought should be tried out in both the NZ series i.e. 8 ODIs vs NZ and 3 ODIs vs AFG.

Usama Mir, Saim Ayub, Mubasir Khan, Amad Butt, Ihsanullah and Taiyyab Tahir.

They all did well in specific roles . Main spinner, Opener, Spin allrounder, Seam allrounder, High pace, #4 batter.

These 11 ODIs could have been used to try these guys out.

Usama was rightfully tried

I heard Tayyab can't play pace . Fair enough.

But there is no evidence Saud will do well vs spin in white ball cricket . So far he has been mediocre in ODIs and domestic T20's even against spin

Saim Ayub has better List A numbers , better PSL + CPL numbers than Abdullah. Abdullah has played 8 List A games and they went for him.

Mubasir could have been tried especially considering PAK spin allrounder s are struggling . Instead they went for Nawaz who took 1 wicket in LPL.

And Amad Butt could move the new ball and give some hitting at the death. Instead they went for Faheem Ashraf :))) who has done nothing , ever.

If they had tried these guys, PAK could have had a better idea for Asia Cup.

Babar looking in really good touch in his first outing.
Although from the looks of it, he will have to carry this batting line with some help of Rizwan.
 
Rizwan just got gifted 2 leg side long hops. Wouldn’t put them away.
 
Rizzy changing the momentum now.. the issue we have is our bowling is pretty weak now with no naseem factor. Nothing can be expected from our spinners so our batters have to do something in this world cup
 
Looks like kiwis are resting all their pacers now mitchell is on...tehy are trying all their part times which is very clever we should do the same.
 
Converting the slow start into a good one. Great to see the backbone of our batting line up stepping up before the big tournament
 
This is the perfect approach!

Some of you seem to forget that this is the first time this Pakistan team is playing in India. They have to acclimatise to the conditions and this means spending as much time as possible at the crease.

Anyone expecting a fireworks of boundaries doesn't quite understand the value of these warm ups.

POTW for me. I literally fail to understand why Saim and Haris have to sit out for Abdullah and Saud when they have better numbers than Abdullah and Saud.

Inzi is a hopeless selector.

Bro, you’ve been watching cricket for far too long. Babar and Rizzy will never leave a chance to score statpad even if it is a practice match.

Ideally they should give a chance to Iftimania and Agha Salman
 
This lady commie is right - it’s more important to look at other players. We know what we’re going to get from babar and rizwan
 
Problem is Babar himself. This guy is way too stubborn for any change. Its either me and my friends or not at all. Players like this actually good for nothing for winning big trophies. You need serious players who are hungry to perform. Last 4 years this guy played against all C/D teams to give fake illusions.

PCB is run by chai chairman like Mani, Ramiz or Zaka. These people always like to be friendly with players and don't give them ultimatum perform or leave.

People like Inzi also don't have any moral to do anything good for the team to improve.

Micky also knows he will be sacked by Misbah and will be scapegoat right after the tournament so he is there for fat pay cheque.

To control people like Babar co. you need Andy or Hature like coach with full support from PCB. We are not winning anything with these bunch of parchis and timid so better do some experiment and it will not be worse.

These two personify selfishness. Warm up game vs NZ D and yet they won't retire even after scoring their 50s. Disgusting

But why do they need centuries?
 
These two have really accelerated against the might of Glenn Phillips and Daryl Mitchell. Real statement

NZ are only gonna play 3 bowlers + Santner . Rest will all be part timers like Neesham, Phillips etc. and Sodhi needs to bowl since has reworked his run up and action recently. Santner was injured and hasn't bowled in a while .

Boult and Lockie have bowled enough in England.
