Although big names may be missing (Rohit, Kane) this match will be an interesting match from Indian perspective as they are likely to try new combination.

This is literally going to be a dog eat dog competition for spots at the top of the order. Dhawan injured, Rohit injured. Both will come back. KL Rahul is already in a precarious position despite runs. These 3 guys are talented. If they realize their full poential they will also make runs.

India should win this easily. New Zealand are without Williamson, Boult and Ferguson.

Same old, same old.

Our selectors are clueless and they never give the young players a chance.

Always backing TTFs, this is a series to experiment in as Kohli said.

And how well he is expermenting by playing Jadhav and Shardul. Don't get mistaken by the hypocrisy of the *****.

Pathetic team selection ,Thakur & Jhadav are useless

Too much criticism. Thakur is considered for his batting and kedar is selected for 6th bowling option. Indeed good selection for short boundary.
Balanced with young and senior players.

That's the whole point. An inferior bowler considered for his batting. How messed up can the team management be.

We cant have too many bowlers with zero batting skills in LOIs in this era. Thakur is in for the role which was played by Bhuvi and Chahar in T20s.

Just that Thakur's bowling itself do not warranty a place in the ODI side. T20 it's different where he can come and slog for few balls and really has to bowl 4 overs. You can't compromise on the concept of 4 wicket taking bowlers when you already have Jadeja , pretty decent bat at 7 and Kuldeep who can hold the bat at one end.

Good start. Hope we capitalize and score 300+

Bummed to see no Pandey and Saini. No idea why Jhadav gets picked despite him not bowling anymore

1st wicket gone. I never understand how this guy gets wickets lol Last time he got rid of Kohli like this.

Man CdG removing the guy hyped as the next Sachin with a genuine wicket taking ball :)))

India really struggling against the third string bowlers :)))

Can only imagine if Boult, Henry and Lockie were playing here.

India should score 200 and declare. lol NZ will get bowled out for 200 and we will get a super over southee will bowl

Another ordinary turnout for India.

Imagine tickets are too expensive and the fans aren't interested in watching NZ play with their performances this summer.

Both wasted their good start. Under normal circumstances this is fine given both showed promise, but this TM is biased to the core. They will knit pick every small failure to get back Dhawan in the mould.

Both are making their debuts in the one dayers. That too moving conditions with a lot of wind. I will go easy on them. Important thing both looked good whent hey were there. Agarwal got out to a rubbish half tracker. Shaw will definitely come up with a different plan.

Ground looks empty.

Not many Indian fans either.

India just aren't as much of a big draw as Aus or England here.

May be because it is a week day? Also one dayers are done. Once the world cup is over lover for one dayers take a dip.

T20 attendance wasn't flash either. NZC will be disappointed by the attendance numbers. This was supposed to be really financially successful series for them, they'll probably l make a lot less than they projected.

Given that even Kohli is not able to score freely, you have to give credit to Agarwal and Shaw to play good.

NZ cricket board is so greedy as they increase ticket prize vs India campare to other countries touring

Even Gill made his debut on this conditions and failed,we know what happened after that, TM has not given him another chance.
I hope Shaw and Aggarwal must not get removed if they fail.

They won't be removed. Let me tell you why. With Rohit out, Shaw will open with Agarwal. So they are using it as a practice for Tests.

Terrific start to the morning watching Jadhav playing at 6.

A brilliant example of government level job where you get a slot booked for years, no matter how you perform or fail. Wasn't he batting at 7 all through the World Cup and the all-rounder, Pandya was sent ahead of him every game. So many years of backing but in World Cup, he was playing at 7 as he was only good enough for that position and still 1 year past the WC, yet being given the similar backing.

When will the selectors learn?

I am seriously ****** off anytime i see Jadhav's name in the line up. A spot that could have been given to Gill.

Iyer not looking at his best today. But we need partnerships, so he can afford some time.

On this pitch where even the likes of CDG are moving the ball, I am pretty sure Thakur can do the same too and pick up some wickets.
As far as I remember,India had always gone with a bowler who could bat whenever they played three fast bowlers. Bhuvi did that role for us a while even when he was going for plenty and not picking up any wickets.

Partnership of 100. Expecting hundred from one of them today.

Rahul should blast in final overs.

Excellent from Sodhi. Through the gates. Kohli didn't read the googly at all. Also, the line and the length of that delivery was immaculate.

Great chance for Shreyas Iyer to go for a century. The pitch has flattened out. And batting looks easy now.

lol, only Kohli can do it. We've Gill & Saini cooling their heels in NZ itself and yet he plays Jadhav & Thakur respectively.

Jadhav especially, are we planning to play him in next WC? If not, whats the point of him being in team?

Rahul has definitely turned a corner over past few months. Long may it continue....

Rahul is showing Kohli how to play a trundler like Sodhi.

It's great to see this renewed confidence in Rahul's batting after years of getting screwed by the TM.
