What's new

New Zealand outclass Australia by 159 runs in 1st ODI

Is this today??

Damn thought it was tmrw.

If this is in the special NZ mickey mouse ground, then OZ have lost.

This is breath taking stuff by kiwis. Mecca going after poor aussie bowlers like a mad dog.

Watching these 2 teams as a neutral is so much fun. Hope it is a close, exciting game.

and in way painful to see the difference between the quality of these teams and our pathetic team. How far behind we are.

Forgot about this game. Baz and Guptill in full flow can be devastating!

No Starc..When are we going to watch him bowl in odis again?

Say whatever you want about modern batsman but i can't even imagine that batsman of before 2000, can play a shot like which mecca just played i mean that perfect dilscoop

where the hell are you guys watching lol

edit: nvm found it on criicinfo.

AND DAMN IT. just as i tune in big mac gets digested by faulkner

Guptill has transformed himself into a world class odi batsmen although he still has lot to do away from home.

but still not better than our ATG opening combo of azhar and shezzy.

no doubt these two hacks (baz and guptill) play like t20 in odis they should learn the art of test cricket in odi from our opening duo

Our hacks need to be watching the game at this stage. 3 wickets down, no panic no nervousness, no choking, no clowning around, no collapsing to losing 3 more wickets, just batting along nicely accumulating the runs through rotation of strike and low risk boundary shots.

We were slightly behind in this stage, but 330~ looked as likely for us as it does for NZ atm. NZ is marching towards it while our donkeys threw their wickets away to crash at 290.

Is Henry Nicholls is what NZ searching 'some solidity' in middle order? Aman

I think he can provide stability.

Doesn't looks like that..NZ is a good side but not the best team. They certainly lack some of the skills of a top team.

Man... Santner. What a talent. Best spinner to come out of non-Asian countries in the last 3 years. Looks better than Rashid, Moeen, Piedt, etc etc with the ball and outdoes Moeen with the bat EASILY. Hmm I wonder why he doesn't have as many fans as Moeen :amla

Hope Imad Wasim can up his bowling and become something like this. He has the potential.

NZ has to find a place for Munro in the playing IX. He could be their late hitter, which they are missing for some time now.

Huge shame for Nz can get a half decent Crowd even for a match vs Aus

Smith is struggling, but pretty sure he has the class to make a big score here

Rubbish attemt of reverse sweep. What was he thinking. He is just too tall and slow to play that shot

Blimey Pakistan's performance seems better than what the Australians have put out thus far.

Anderson drops him and then catches him a few balls later.

Matt Henry you beast.

Wow. Maxwell gone too. This is embarrassing

Told you guy's if there is just a hint of movement and spin and aussies are sitting ducks.

hahahaha best odi team in the world lol, sensible-indian-fan, freelance_cricketer :misbah

A bit of movement and the HTBs are rolling over. I've been saying this for ages. They can bat only on flat wickets.

This is one of the flatter pitched in NZ and they are jumping around like it's rolled outfield.

Shows you how big a different flat tracks can be. The indians would be screwed here. Though to be fair, it could just be one of those remarkable spells. We shall see at the end of the tour.

:)))

Now our batting line-up looked legendary in that last ODI :afridi

The Indians will atleast apply themselves, and I can guarantee you we will atleast score 220 -230, we have faced far lively pitches than these during 2013 .the new guys can hold their fronts in tough conditions, so stop bringing Indians into every discussion.

Beautiful display of fast bowling by henry and boult. Reminded me of wasim and waqar days with left right combo. Loving the way how crowd is involved. Aussies need some practice on these pitches. Coming from flat australian pitches to bouncy new zeland pitches need some time getting used to.

The indians played in Aus and piled on the runs just like the oz; that's why I brought them into it. And no, Indians like Aus are ftb except for a few players namely Rahane.

Isn't this the ground where India tied chasing 315 or was that elsewhere..?

You and your bias!!! Indians scored 250+ in every innings in NZ last time. Heck they even won tests abroad on green pitches in the last few years. Indian batsman are the most technically correct batsmen as per Chappell and I'll take his word

Really? Then I guess you didn't watched all the tours that india did abroad kohli, rahane, vijay, pujara are not ftb's even ashwin and bhuvi can hold ends in tough conditions agree with dhawan and rohit though, so ur statement is pretty wrong.

Not to forget Dhoni with his ugly technique can guts it out in tough conditions.

Pakistani batting was very good in the 3rd game. It appears the bowlers screwed up except for Amir. I'm a huge fan of Hafeez and his knock was amazing in that game. He started the onslaught but unfortunately the tail along with Malik buckled

Lol WTH!! Just now saw the score..

But to be fair, NZ owe this victory to us, after we acclimatised the Aussie batting line up with military medium bowling on dead as dodo tracks for over a month.:asif
