Once more with feeling: England never doctor pitches.

The inclement weather affects them, more than anywhere else in the world. If it rains for a month you get a slow seamer. If we get a month of sun, they dry out and take spin.

I'll believe it when I see it, this summer when the sub-cont sides tour. It will be too good to be true if they're damp and green, even The Oval!

I agree but the bad batch of balls struck, if we had a decent ball which would swing I have no doubt we'd be closing in on a win. The third innings as OZGOD was self inflicted, we just crumbled under pressure.

sorry mate..sour grapes. What pressure are you talking about - having a lead of 300 runs.

Marshland stop being so bitter, everyone doctors pitches these days, that includes us..

Of getting such a big win.

Beating India in a Test would be massive for NZC.

If that is how your guys react to pressure that too at home - sorry to say but you dont deserve a win - whether you will or not is a different story and will depend on conditions tomorrow.

India would have taken this at the end of day two. A follow on could have wrecked India, 300 lead must always be used to enforce it.

Having your boss in such a position? What do you think?

^^ Boss? not on the field. I still believe NZ has the better players for the given conditions. But unless you guys develop killer instinct you will be always the also rans - your choice.

Well, 'damp and green' is the usual in England, which is why the system produces so many FM seamers and swingers.

The Oval test wicket is usually a bit harder and bouncier than most in England and takes turn on days four and five. This is because the Oval test is always in late August or September. If the match was in June, it would be a seamer.

Wth NZ! All you had to do was score 170+ in your second innings.

Need some humid overcast conditions in the morning.

NZ already have a winning lead. Only an outside chance for India to win. India chased a similar target outside home, last in 1976. NZ only need to get Pujara and Kohli. India won't fancy chasing more than 300 here.

Today's news killed the Test for me, I don't care now.

Win, lose, whatever, irrelevant.

Cricket will keep having different power centres, enjoying the game on-field is paramount.
Go india!

Oh typical new zealand you blew it. Shouldve enforced the follow on. Easy win for india

Still they need to chase 320 more. They need to survive a morning session and one of the players need to get a 150 plus score to win it for India. I don't see all the batsmen scoring runs for them

Pujara will be the Key for Indias random win...they'll win or draw, bet on that

NZs massive choke has gifted this test to India Indians should chase thia down the pitch isn't a road but not a tough pitch at all it depends on the weather if it's cloudy then it will be a seamers paradise but if the sun comes out it will turn into a good batting pitch if it stays sunny I expect Indians to win tbh

India can win, but they need to have one of their best days. If they survive to 160/1 or 160/2 by lunch, India can take this. On the other hand if the slid to 160/4 or worse, then no chance.

The Weather fore cast for tomorrow in Auckland is cloudy with rain.

After scoring 500 in the first innings who would have though this would happen.

After like 5 years almost Indian bowling have done something out of the ordinary and bowled out a team quickly.Another 50-60 runs and the lead would have been almost beyond India,
Now they have a sniff at it,
still a tall order

Some cringeworthy posts from Aman aka Kiwi. I'm happy there are some genuinely good posters like Marshland, leatherface who call spade a spade.

This new trend of captains trying to be over smart!

its no like the bowelrs were tired or had bowled 100+ overs. They had put down 30 for the day, conditions were ideal for bowling, ball swining around cloud cover, silly decision.

On the other hand, for a neutral fan could make for some good test match viewing!

I believe the plan was to make Indian bowlers demoralised for the rest of the series by grinding and attacking them. Unfortunately the plan didn't work.

The match is certainly not over yet. Like we saw, the mornings always produced wickets. Pujara is the key for India. The guy has the potential to score big and do well while chasing.. I hope India don't lose more than 2 wickets in the opening session. If that i the case, we're in for a cracking test!

Blatant fanboyism.

There's a reason why no test side has chased 400 and upwards for a hundred years running (forget about JP). We're going to win, our second innings collapse notwithstanding.

I'm not an Indian but I'm saying this pitch has no demons if there's cloud cover tomorrow I expect NZ to win but if it's a clear sky India have a chance plus they have time on their side NZ should win but after their choke all the momentum is with India now

Most guys are new kids on the block and don't really understand the nuances of test cricket.. The oh-so-easy 300+ chases of ODI cricket have made people believe that 400+ in test matches is easy peasy

Agreed, they should watch test cricket more than their diet of unhealthy LoIs and realize that you can't step on the gas pedal and scale down 300-350-400 as easily as you do in the other forms.

West Indies did it against Australia a decade ago when they were at their absolute peak.

So did South Africa 6 years ago.

Pakistan chased down 300 in 2 sessions and South Africa almost pulled of a chase of 450 before chickening out right at the death.

Its improbable but not impossible by any means. I'd be less confident than you are but will be backing New Zealand 90% anyway though.

Don't Indians and Pakistanis hate each other?

Lol at the Pakistani fans wishing/expecting their Indian counterparts to win an improbable game.

Its Kiwis game to lose.

Indians should play extremely well to not lose wickets in the morning.

One of Pujara or Kohli or Dhawan has to score a big century for India to have a chance.

I think 90 percent NZ will win this. I will be thoroughly surprised if they chase it.

400 has been chased four times in history, and India has done it once. With guys like Kohli, well, these young lads don't care for history any more, they believe in creating history. I won't write off India till Kohli is at the crease, NZ will take this 95%.

What will be will be
This time tomorrow we should have a result,
Credit to India for making a game out of nothing almost,

With young batsmen with few baggage . You never know all it needs is two batsmen to get in and make hundred's

With IPL knocking at the door and 9-0, I see no reason why Dhoni wouldn't want a win...

Indian win is unlikely. 400 is massive target to chase.

Dude we never want our parosees to win. Folks saying so are either trolling or just playing the jinx card !
