India start as favourites but have a poor record in New Zealand having won 4 test and loosing 7. India last won in Jan 1976.

Teams

India : 1 Gautam Gambhir, 2 Virender Sehwag, 3 Rahul Dravid, 4 Sachin Tendulkar, 5 VVS Laxman, 6 Yuvraj Singh, 7 Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt & wk), 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 Zaheer Khan, 10 Ishant Sharma, 11 Munaf Patel

New Zealand : 1 Tim McIntosh, 2 Martin Guptill, 3 Daniel Flynn, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Jesse Ryder, 6 James Franklin, 7 Brendon McCullum (wk), 8 Daniel Vettori (capt), 9 Kyle Mills, 10 Iain O'Brien, 11 Chris Martin

Talk is of a bouncy pitch, might be a closely fought and exciting series.

Oh dear oh dear
Talk about fragile.

Also Chris Martin MUST play, he's one of NZs best bowlers for goodness sake!

Alright guys, whom are you supporting ? Be honest, no hard feelings from us Indian fans.
Just hope it is competitive match with the pitch having something in it for the bowlers. Had enough of 600 plays 700+ pitches.

I'm supporting a hard-fought, close cricket match.........now come here you :39:

New Zealand of course :D

I always support the underdogs in a non-Pakistan match. I dont care about the records, i still think NZ are the underdogs.

So i think i will be "supporting" the home team, however, i will be looking forward to see the Indian players (Sehwag, Ishant etc) :D

BTW RA, have you got the bad news, I mean the bad news related to wrestling ?

About Test? If so yeah. But I don't know that it is bad news Bub, so many of them die young it is almost inevitable.

I posted a list of wrestlers in the WWE thread who have died, long read.

So BCCI asked to change the start of the match and NZC said so? BCCI are getting wayyyy too big for themselves.

There was some talk about pushing the start by an hour (12 noon) for the sake of the Indian audience back home. However, New Zealand Cricket have told the broadcasters play will begin as scheduled at 11 am. Common sense prevails.

Thank God! Even talk of that is bloody crazy! STUPID STUPID STUPID!

Its actually really pi55ed me off has this!

I got the news from Michelle Billington's (Dynamite Kid's ex-wife/Bret Hart's ex-wife's sister) 'mood' on myspace. It's sad. She told me that he used to stay with her and her kids for 2 years while he was being trained by Bret.

It wasn't some sort of a demand by the BCCI. It was just a request pitched up for the convenience of the Indians fans back at home.

Tough luck for the Indian fans they have only had about 9 months worth of cricket at home. I can't believe they have the hide to even ask, after ever other stunt they pull. The day BCCI implodes in a giant fraud scandal will be a great day for cricket.

India bowl, smart decision. Even on a flat wicket I doubt the Hobbits have the batting power to put India under pressure whereas if they bowled first they could get into the game.

Munaf? Hmmm.

Pitch has green tinges to it. Ishant's 2nd ball 140kph, beats the batsman, moved away a touch.

Commentators saying this New Zealand team has only 8 test centuries between them. India has 104.

.

never a fan of BCCI but a very similar thing happened at Beijing Olympics when swimming competition timings were changed to suit Americans.
Good that NZ cricket board said no unlike the olympics officials.

Money talks! Symonds is a perfect example. don't think he will ever complain about Indian crowd :D

No matter how much they might want it, India will never be America.

No Symonds just takes the money, underperforms and ignores your racist 3rd world crowd. :D

Sharma and ZAk tightening things up with a couple of maidens.

And no matter how badly australia suckup to US or UK for everything, they can never be america as well :D

I am happy as long as symonds :127: gets more mucked up in head by Indians. Poor guy, cant speak anymore. :))

We don't have any delusions of being superpower.

As for the Symonds comments, they tell us on here a fair bit about you.

not sure why Ryder is batting so lower down the order. Given his current form, he should have come 1-down.

RA, I didn't know you could speak Urdu/Hindi :13: I'm impressed.
RA is a pak fan.hiding himself in cover of Aus fan because now a days pak team is going through bad patch.

6.2 Sharma to McIntosh, OUT, that's the third catch behind the wicket this morning, Ishant bowls it much fuller and gets it to angle across the left hander, McIntosh had to play at it but he fails to cover the line and the thick edge goes low to Sehwag at gully, he cups it with both hands comfortably in front of his body and makes up for his lapse early on
TG McIntosh c Sehwag b Sharma 12 (74m 52b 1x4 0x6) SR: 23.07

are Indian bowlers STB (Seaming Track Bullies)?
Yes
First Inning: Pitch is Not Flat
Second Inning: Pitch becomes flat
Third Inning; Pitch become green again
Fourth Inning: Pitch becomes flat again

So Conclusion: Indian bowlers are STB and their batmen are FTB

harsh decision

Yeah you won't hear about that one though whenever the catalogue of umpring wrongs against India is recited.

Rubbish effort from New Zealand, 150 would be a good score from here. Good to see Ishant taking some wickets.

These 2 might as well attack now as looking purely to survive on this pitch isn't likely to bear fruit.

I think Taufel went with the sound since bat and pad were very close. Having said that New zealand batsmen simply play with static feet. No forward or backward movement.
