Stumps, Hobbits survive. All to do tomorrow

Typical third innings collapse around the corner I'm sure.

Just got to hope it isn't an innings thrashing I suppose.

Wicket is easy to bat now so I don't see an inning defeat.

If NZ can bat long then Indians will be in trouble due to having only 3 fast bowlers. Not sure if wicket will do anything for Jadeja on 3rd day.

I agree, we are in good position ONLY, but anything can happen.
Just another good day in office

Brilliant batting by Rahane. Hopefully people now realise that he's better then the likes of Nohit.

Show some faith, Williamson and McCullum absolutely smashed the Indian bowling to pieces in the first Test, why can't they do it again? If NZ can score 350 then I can see the Indian batsmen collapsing to defeat under the pressure of a series draw.

The line-up without Ross in it looks feeble as hell.

Yea it does. Fulton and Rutherford are hopeless, Kane is decent, Latham well let's see how he bats in the second innings, Macca is hit or miss, which is why he is batting at 5. Still not sold on Anderson in Tests while Watling seems paralysed when he bats, he can't hit the ball or rotate the strike. His keeping in this Test has been ordinary too.

I would persevere with Latham and Anderson though. I guess Latham is just keeping the seat warm for Taylor. Anderson just needs a bit of confidence I reckon. He has that x-factor. But surely there are better batsmen in NZ than Fulton and Rutherford. You lot are basically 2 down before the match even starts.

I love Cars' optimism, especially when India is involved :D

Haha, how you doing Oz? Must be pretty chuffed with your team's resurgence after some tough times in early-to-mid 2013? Must say I wrote you guys off but you've come back in some style. MJ Mark II is scary.

I'm good mate hope you are well. Yea it was a very pleasant surprise over the (southern) summer. Didn't expect that at all but MJ Mark II really made the summer. Still plenty of work for them to do though but they are headed in the right direction at least.

I'm good too, thanks. Yep I agree still a long way to go but under Lehmann your team is definitely on the right track. SA are looking vulnerable with Kallis gone and several senior players on the wrong side of 30 so definitely a chance to snatch the no.1 spot in the coming months/years.

There is no pressure on Indians. I can assure you that. If 0-8 previously and winless tour of SA, and still winless tour of NZ has taught us anything, its that no one in BCCI cares if we lose overseas.

Us losing outside SC is expected.

Dhoni will calmly blame umpires, weather, lack of practice matches, rookie team and what not. Then they will move on. Everyone in the team knows this so hardly any pressure.

On the other hand, if you see the record, past 1 year in every overseas tour we have frequently crossed 300 mark easily which means there are couple of decent bats out there. So I will rule out any collapse, some inspired bowling from NZ can still save the match but I expect out bats to get some decent score themselves.

If williamson, anderson and mccullum score big possibly a draw but what an innings by rahane. India nearly won after trailing by so much runs so nz could do it too

India well on top and deservedly so. They have completely outplayed NZ both days. Definitely a huge toss to win. This is what usually happens when you produce green mambas. Not a smart move by NZ leading the series 1-0.

Such pathetic crowds in NZ. Feel bad for countries like Nepal and Papua New Guinea who can generate far more interest than likes of NZ.

This game is India's to lose,
Great toss to win,

I can see this game ending tomorrow

How in the world can NZ ever save this game?

Its just Day 2.

3 more to go.

Mostly it would be an innings defeat.

Or India would knock off the remaining runs.

Anything else and I would be shocked.

Let's see.

India will win this easily expect NZ to fold for 250-300

it would be crazy to see Inida lose, so the Indian team will admit they suck at away conditions and actually look to develop. Since india will go to win this one, they might get complacent.
