I think they were told to make sure not to get out and score at an ok rate, which they did.
They scored 100 in 17 overs without losing a wkt. I think we lost the match when we slowed down between 17-25 overs.
We also needed a blinder from someone and it did not happen.

120 of 20 overs is extremely old school. It is not enough when you are chasing 370, if you watch all the matches where India have successfully chased 350 plus, they have been brutal from ball once. We are still stuck in the 90's thanks to our mohaliing captain.

That is a pretty decent start. India were 100/0 off 19 when they chased down 352 vs Australia. In another big chase they reached 100 off 15. India typically accelerate around the 15th over in these tall chases, but they quickly get to 150 and 200 even before you can blink.

If you keep wickets intact after 20 overs and reach 120/0 chasing 350, it is doable. But Pakistan's problem today was with the middle order - you have too many sub 80 players in there, without high averages either. You need batsmen with career S/R of 90+ to execute these chases successfully. Batsmen with career S/R of 75 cannot be expected to chase 250+ with any degree of confidence.
