Now about your point on hand eye coordination, their very few cricketers like Ponting, Lara, Sachin, Saeed who look pleasing to the eye and are orthodox.

However that's cause they prefer to just play traditional orthodox strokes, but that does not mean that players who don't are tullas.

Steve Smith has to be one of the ugliest batters I've ever seen, plays drives with backfoots, mistimes alot, his footwork is all over the place when advancing down against spin and he literally turns 180 degrees everytime he pulls which just looks ugly. However he's easily the best test batter I've ever seen. Atm he's slightly > Sachin as well.

Similarly Viv Richards wasn't aesthetically pleasing, he was pure hand eye coordination.

Majority batters try to be effective, a boundary is a boundary and a six is a six and runs are runs no matter how they come.
