Even in gully cricket we generally played 15 overs a side games. This is complete rubbish.

Defending champions Maratha Arabians, riding on UAE’s wicketkeeper-batsman Abdul Shakoor’s whirlwind knock of 73 runs off 28 balls studded with five sixes and seven boundaries, pulled off an exciting five-wicket win off a last-ball thriller in the opening match of the fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 at the Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Northern Warriors posted a challenging 127 for 2 but Maratha Arabians, displaying their winners' traits that helped them win the title last year, got off to a winning start. The match lived up to this format's edge of the seat thriller trademark when Maratha Arabians needed eight runs off the last over. Despite South African left-arm pacer Wayne Parnell giving away only three runs off the first four balls, Maratha Arabians young 25-year-old captain Mosaddek Hossain from Bangladesh hit the fifth and sixth ball to the boundary to pull off a last-ball win.

Earlier, Maratha Arabians won the toss and elected to field. Opener Brandon King and Lendl Simmons gave Northern Warriors a fluent start. 26-year-old King from Jamaica hit the first six of the tournament off the third ball of the match from Nepal’s Sompal Kami over mid-wicket. In the next over, West Indies experienced opener Simmons unleashed his strokes and hit Afghanistan’s Yamin Ahmadzai for three boundaries to take 16 runs off that over. In the fourth over, King played some glorious shots. He hit Mohammad Hafeez for three sixes to take 21 runs off that over.

The opening pair put on 62 runs in 5.1 overs when King got run out in a mix up off a direct throw from wicketkeeper Abdul Shakoor for 29. Next man Nicholas Pooran too would have followed three balls after but for Ishan Malhotra who dropped his catch when he was on 2 off Bangladesh’s medium pacer Mukhtar Ali.

Pooran celebrated his luck by hitting Ali for a six and a boundary off the next two deliveries. Bangladesh’s off-spinner Mosaddek Hossain and Ali bowled a tight seventh and eight overs giving away 11 and five runs respectively. Ali also removed the dangerous Pooran in the eighth over by having him caught at deep midwicket by Sompal Kami for 19.

In the ninth over, Simmons on 43 escaped being caught behind as Shakoor dropped an outer edge off Yamin Ahmadzai. Next batsman Rovman Powell hit 22 runs in just seven balls to accelerate the Warriors’ run flow. Even the last ball of the innings from Kami was hit by Powell for a six. Simmons remained unconquered on 54 off 31 balls with seven boundaries and one six.

Chasing their target of 128, Maratha Arabians lost an early wicket when Afghanistan opener Javed Ahmadi got caught at long-on by Powell off the third ball of the first over from Sri Lankan off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana for 6.

From the second over, opener Shakoor, who has played three One Day Internationals and six T20 Internationals for UAE began to hit out. He hit Wayne Parnell for 18 runs which included a six and two boundaries. In the third over he was more aggressive and hit Wahab Riaz for 23 runs which included two sixes and a boundary. Shakoor reached his half-century in just 14 balls. In the fifth over, Fabian Allen removed Laurie Evans having him caught at extra cover by King for 9. In the last five overs, Maratha Arabians needed just 49 runs with Pakistan’s experienced batsman Mohammad Hafeez and Shakoor in full flow. Hafeez fell for 19 off Allen in the seventh over getting caught at mid-wicket.

When ten runs were needed off eight balls, Shakoor fell top-edging Emrit to fine leg for 73. This was followed by the last over drama that resulted in Maratha Arabians walking away as the winners.

Brief scores:
Maratha Arabians bt Northern Warriors by five wickets. Northern Warriors 127 for 2 in 10 overs (Brandon King 29, Lendl Simmons 54, Rovman Powell 22) Maratha Arabians 131 for 5 in 10 overs (Abdul Shakoor 73, Fabian Allen 2 for 11) Man of the match: Abdul Shakoor

Victory for the Devils:

Pune Devils get off to a winning start, chasing down 104 with 4 balls to spare thanks to a mighty 57* from Kennar Lewis

Pune Devils produced a sterling all-round performance to pull off an emphatic seven-wicket win over
Deccan Gladiators in the second match of the Abu Dhabi T10 at the Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Bangladesh off-spinner and Pune Devils’ captain Nasir Hossain (3 for 18) and Oman’s medium pacer
Munis Ansari (2 for 11) restricted Gladiators to 104 for 5. Later, West Indies’ Kennar Lewis opened the
innings and steered Pune to the target through an unbeaten 57 off 28 balls with six sixes and three
boundaries.

Pune won the toss, and Nasir Hossain, who opened the bowling attack with Mohammad Amir, produced a
deadly spell of three wickets from his two overs. He was well backed by Ansari. Hossain first clean
bowled opener Sunil Narine with the second ball of the second over and then removed the aggressive
Afghanistan opener Mohamamd Shahzad off the last ball of the same over. Shahzad, going for a slog
sweep, top-edged to Asif Khan at square leg for 8.

After skipper Kieron Pollard was trapped leg before by Ansari off the first ball of the fourth over for just
two runs, Hossain then had Prasanth Gupta caught at long-on. Ansari then went on to take another prize
wicket of Cameron Delport who slog hit to mid-wicket.

Azam Khan, son of Pakistan’s legendary wicketkeeper Moin Khan, hit an unbeaten 37 off 13 balls with
four sixes and one boundary to help Gladiators cross the 100 run mark.

Chasing a target of 105, Pune lost opener Tom Cohler-Cadmore for 12 when he was clean bowled by
Ravi Rampaul. Opener Keenar Lewis and Chadwick Walton added 27 more runs when UAE mediumpacer Zahoor Khan had Walton caught at deep point by Azam Khan for 18. In the last five overs, Pune
needed 62 runs.

Sunil Narine struck in the seventh over to have Darwish Rasooli caught by Pollard in the cover but Lewis
kept the run chase going. He slog-swept Narine for a six. Rampaul bowled a tight eighth over giving away
just seven runs.

With 26 runs needed off 12 balls, the match looked like it was heading towards an exciting finish. In the
ninth over bowled by Zahoor Khan, Lewis picked three boundaries. This reduced the runs required off the
last over to 11 runs.

Lewis hit the first ball of the last over bowled by Pollard for a six and reached his half-century in 27 balls.
He then hit the second ball also for a six and won the match with four balls to spare.

Good Yorker by the bowler.. but its joke of a format, too small boundaries.. Hongkong 6s was better than this..

Dear me, the standard of fielding is abysmal.

Watching Mohammad Irfan who is struggling to walk, never mind run.

This Rutherford can smash a ball.

Very clean striker of a cricket ball.

Through a clinical display of accurate bowling and powerful hitting, Qalandars trounced Pune Devils by nine wickets in the fourth match of the Abu Dhabi T10 at the Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium. The first match of the second day thus saw Qalandars exhibiting their enormous bowling strength to restrict Pune Devils to 107 for 2 despite Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s fine knock of 53.

Qalandars then raced to the target through Tom Banton’s 45 off just 18 balls. Opener Sharjeel Khan remained unbeaten on 28 and Sohail Akhtar, through an unconquered 33, won the match with 17 balls to spare.

Qalandars elected to field after winning the toss. Pune Devils openers Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Kennar Lewis walked in carrying the confidence of having won their first match on the opening day against Deccan Gladiators. UAE’s left-arm spinner Sultan Ahmed, who opened the bowling for Qalandars, was hit for 10 runs in the first over. From the second over from Samit Patel, Pune hit up 19 runs which included Cadmore’s two consecutive sixes. Ahmed struck in his third over by trapping Lewis leg before for 3. In that over Ahmed gave away just three runs.

In the fifth over bowled by Azmatullah Omarzai, Cadmore scored 17 runs including a six and a boundary. At the half way mark, Pune were 59 for 1, needing some big hits for a big score. Pakistan’s veteran left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir, who bowled the sixth over, gave away just six runs. The pressure for big shots kept mounting on Pune. When Ahmad Daniyal too gave away only nine runs from the seventh over, the chances of Pune's score going past the 100 run mark looked doubtful. The eighth over from Chris Jordan, known as one of the finest death over bowlers, was spot on and yielded only seven runs.

Darwish Rasooli managed to hit Tanvir’s first ball of the ninth over for a six over long-off. Cadmore went past his half-century mark but fell to Jordan’s first ball of the last over, getting caught at short third man for 54. Chadwick Walton hit the first ball he faced for a boundary to long-on and took Pune past the 100 run mark. Walton managed to hit one more boundary to take Pune’s score to 107 for 2 in 10 overs. Rasooli remained unbeaten on 39 off 24 balls.

Tom Banton and Sharjeel Khan opened the batting for Qalandars and right away went for their shots. Banton began by hitting Mohammad Amir to fine leg for a six. In the second over Banton hit Pune skipper Nasir Hossain for 22 runs which included two sixes and two boundaries. The 50 runs opening partnership came in just 3.1 overs. Oman’s Munis Ansari ended the partnership by having Banton caught and bowled for 45 off 18 balls with four boundaries and four sixes. Sharjeel then took charge and pulled Ansari for a powerful six. By the half way mark, Qalandars needed only 36 more runs.

Mohammad Amir was introduced for the sixth over but Sharjeel pulled the first ball from him for a six as well as a boundary. Skipper Sohail Akhtar too played some beautiful shots to accelerate the run flow and comfortably reach their target.

Brief scores:

Qalandars bt Pune Devils by nine wickets. Pune Devils 107 for 2 in 10 overs (Tom Kohler-Cadmore 54, Darwish Rasooli 39n.o) Qalandars 108 for 1 in 7.1 overs (Tom Banton 45, Sharjeel Khan 28, Sohail Akhtar 33) Man of the match: Tom Banton

Delhi Bulls notched up their second successive victory by registering an emphatic nine-wicket win in just five overs over defending champions Maratha Arabians in the second match of the second day of the Abu Dhabi T10 at the Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Bulls charged to an easy victory after restricting Arabians to just 87 for 3. Opener Evin Lewis hit a belligerent unbeaten 55 runs off just 16 balls with seven sixes and two boundaries. Ravi Bopara remained unbeaten on 28 runs as they won with 30 balls to spare. This win will also help Delhi Bulls boost up their run rate.

Bulls won the toss and promptly elected to field. Arabians got off to a shocking start when their opener Abdul Shakoor, who was the hero of their first match over Northern Warriors on the opening day, got out for a duck. Going for a big hit off Amad Butt, Shakoor edged to the wicketkeeper. Butt gave away just one run in this over.

The second over too saw Arabians losing another wicket when Laurie Evans, hoping to clear the long on, landed up being caught by Mohammad Nabi for 11.

Amad Butt bowled a tight third over giving away just six runs. In the fourth over, Arabians lost another wicket when experienced Mohammad Hafeez hit Ali Khan to Nabi at mid-wicket for 5.

At the half way stage, Marartha were struggling for runs at 41 for 3. Skipper Mosaddek Hossain and opener Javed Ahmadi tried their best to force the pace. Hossain played a lovely straight drive to the boundary off Dwayne Bravo.

Runs were still hard to come with Kasif Daud bowling a brilliant seventh over giving away just four runs. Though Ahmadi and Hossain hit Bravo for boundaries in the eighth over, their team’s chances of a total over 100 runs began to sink.

In the ninth over Ahmadi got run out off a direct throw from Ali Khan for 24. Edwards, who bowled the last over, gave away just five runs to restrict Maratha to a small target. Butt who gave away just seven runs from his two overs and took one wicket, stood out as the best among the bowlers.

Chasing a run rate of just 8.70, Bulls’ opener Rahmanullah flicked Yamin Ahmadzai into the hands of Muktar Ali at deep square leg off the second ball of the first over. Ravi Bopara, who joined Evin Lewis, hit Sompal Kamin for three consecutive boundaries in the second over to pick 17 runs off that over.

India’s veteran leg spinner Pravin Tambe was introduced in the third over but Lewis picked two successive boundaries. The partnership between Bopara and Lewis got stronger with their pair picking 15 runs off Sohag Gazi’s fourth over. Lewis hit Muktar Ali for four sixes to take 33 runs off that over and ensure Bulls' victory in just five overs.

Brief scores:

Delhi Bulls beat Maratha Arabians by nine wickets. Maratha Arabians 87 for 4 in 10 overs (Javed Ahmadi 24, Mosaddek Hossain 35n.o) Delhi Bulls 89 for 1 in 5 overs (Evin Lewis 55n.o, Ravi Bopara 28n.o) Man of the match: Amad Butt

Talk about priorities...

Guys can someone explain, the Delhi Bulls side has a couple of Pakistanis playing in the franchise. So the company paying them is clearly Indian/from Delhi and the Pakistani players pay tax to the Pakistani government on this earning?

So if this is ok, then what is wrong with Pakistani players playing in the IPL?

Shinwari is making a joke out of himself

Bowled an appalling over and now over runs and makes a mockery of a catch that should have been taken.

Bangla Tigers bowled intelligently and batted strongly to outplay defending champions Maratha Arabians by six wickets in the seventh match of the Abu Dhabi T10 on the third day at the Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Arabians, despite not losing any wicket, could muster only 103 runs in their ten overs. Mohammad Hafeez’s unbeaten 61 off 30 balls went in vain. Abdul Shakoor played second fiddle with an unbeaten 34 runs.
Chasing the target, Tigers lost wickets at regular intervals but scored at a brisk pace and won the match with 12 balls to spare.

Having won the toss, Bangla Tigers promptly elected to field. Maratha Arabians' opener Mohammad Hafeez dangerously edged the first ball from Mohammad Irfan past the wicketkeeper for a boundary. He picked a boundary off the second ball too. Mujeeb Ur Rehman bowled a tight second over giving away just seven runs. Leg spinner Quais Ahmed too bowled a tight third over giving just five runs. UAE’s Abdul Shakoor scored two consecutive boundaries off George Garton, who bowled the fourth over. When Qais bowled another tight over giving away only four runs in the fifth over, Maratha Arabians had mustered only 37 runs at the halfway mark.

In the next over, Shakoor pulled Irfan for a six. Though the opening partnership swelled, runs did not flow as desired. In the eighth over, Hafeez punished Mujeeb for two boundaries and a six. He also earned a boundary off a wide, which even the wicketkeeper could not collect, resulting in 21 runs off that over. Hafeez reached his half-century in the fifth ball of the ninth over and celebrated it by hitting a six off the last ball. The 100 runs partnership came in the third ball of the tenth over.

Karim Janath bowled a brilliant tenth over yielding just six runs. Hafeez remained unbeaten on 61 off 30 balls while Shakoor, playing the same number of balls, remained unbeaten on 34. It was a superb bowling effort from Bangla Tigers.

Bangla Tigers openers Johnson Charles and Andre Fletcher could get only seven runs from the first over from Yamin Ahmadzai. But in the second over, Charles hit Sompal Kami for a six over deep mid-wicket. He also picked the gap correctly to gain a boundary through a cut shot off Muktar Ali and then hit him for a powerful six over long-on. With the last ball of the over, Ali forced Charles to edge to wicketkeeper Shakoor for 23. This was the first wicket to fall in the day. Fletcher was then joined by Afif Hossain. Arabians' skipper Mosaddek Hossain then bowled a bad over and was punished by Fletcher who hit him for two sixes and a boundary to pick 20 runs off that over. At the halfway stage, Bangla Tigers needed 43 runs to reach the target. Then Fletcher fell to Sohag Gazi hitting high to Hafeez for 31. This brought in UAE’s Chirag Suri to the crease. He began by hitting Gazi straight over the sightscreen for a six. Suri’s partner Afif Hossain too slog-swept Gazi for a six.

When Afif also whipped Ahmadzai for a six, Bangla Tigers looked set for an easy victory. Ahmadzai got Afif out for 22, by which time Bangla Tigers needed only 13 more runs from the last three overs. Suri hit his second six lifting Ishan Malhotra over long-on and got run out for 19. Tom Moores hit the winning boundary off the last ball of the eighth over.

Brief scores:

Bangla Tigers bt Maratha Arabians by six wickets. Maratha Arabians 103 for no loss in 10 overs (Mohammad Hafeez 61n.o, Abdul Shakoor 34n.o) Bangla Tigers (105 for 4 in 8 overs (Johson Charles 23, Andre Fletcher 31, Afif Hossain 22) Man of the match: Karim Janat

Pakistani players have one of the worst fitness levels out there and that makes that inadequate from being called an athlete.

Check these hackers out for qalandars costing them the game when they havr so many hitters left

This Qalandars team looks like the team to beat in this T10 tournament.

Some players who are ideal for this format.

Its such a weird tournament. Definitely not cricket. Just mindless willow swinging.

Waqas Maqsood 1-1 in 2 overs, not sure whether that speaks to his quality or to that of the batsman’s. You have to be good to do 1-1 even in club cricket with these kinds of 40 meter T10 boundaries tbf.

T10 cricket is complete garbage - I couldn’t even stomach watching 10 minutes of this junk even when I had nothing else to watch.

I mean what is this ? No tactics, no rhythm or flow on what’s
going to happen - at least 20/20 has glimpses of this where they have to pause a bit.

This form of cricket should be banned - its embarrassing the sport.

So third umpire Nigel Long thinks they are playing "one bounce out" cricket. Poran was not out. The catch was shelled. It was unbelievable that the fielder even claimed it. For the third umpire to give that out, well, it's just pure incompetence.

Abu Dhabi. Team Abu Dhabi’s Jamie Overton cracked a quick unbeaten 38 runs off just 11 balls studded with four boundaries and three sixes to snatch the match away from Pune Devils in the tenth match of the Alubond Abu Dhabi T10 at the Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Overton, accelerated the run chase when it was most needed and helped Team Abu Dhabi record their first victory of the season with nine balls to spare.

Pune looked like sailing towards another victory after their opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore had hit an unbeaten 61 off 25 balls with five boundaries and five sixes and had helped their team post an impressive 129 for 4 in the ten overs.

Team Abu Dhabi had won the toss and followed the usual trend of opting to bowl first. Usman Shinwari, who opened the bowling for Team Abu Dhabi, let Tom Kohler-Cadmore get only one boundary in the over. In the second over, Cadmore hit Rohan Mustafa for three consecutive boundaries to launch his attacking innings.

Obed McCoy struck with the first ball of the third over by clean bowling Kennar Lewis with an intelligent slower ball for 5. He gave just three runs in that over. Next man Chadwick Walton smashed Paul Stirling for a boundary and a six in the fourth over to pick 13 runs off the over.

Cadmore made full use of Tom Helm’s fifth over hitting him for three consecutive sixes. At the half way mark, Pune were well placed at 60 for 1.

Mustafa was introduced again for the sixth over and Walton greeted him through a six over cover point. With the fourth ball, Mustafa had Walton caught by Chirs Gayle at short fine leg for 23. Next man Alex Davies picked a boundary off Mustafa by edging to third man. McCoy produced another good over in the seventh over giving away just six runs and also dismissing Davies, caught behind, for 9.

Devon Thomas, who joined Cadmore hit Jamie Overton for two sixes, both earned through cut shots. Pune went past the 100 run mark in the ninth over bowled by Shinwari. Cadmore reached his half century in 21 balls lifting Shinwari for a six. He continued his six-hitting spree by lifting Helm for a straight sixth in the last over and remained unbeaten on 61.

Chasing the target, Chris Gayle and Paul Stirling, two of the hardest hitters in the game, walked in. Mohammad Amir bowled a tight first over giving away just four runs. The second over from Munis Ansari saw Gayle hit an elegantly flicked six over mid-wicket. Stirling would have fell at his score on six had Karan at deep mid-wicket not dropped him off Ansari. However, luck did not favour him again as Hardus Viljoen had him caught behind for 23 in the third over. Next man Joe Clarke began by hitting Viljoen for two successive boundaries.

Karan picked the prize wicket of Gayle in the fourth over, forcing him to play on to his wicket, for 9. UAE left-arm spinner Ahmed Raza clean bowled Wright, who went for a slog sweep, for 6 with the third ball of the fight over. Clarke continued his big hitting by taking two boundaries off the last balls from Raza.

Team Abu Dhabi needed another 59 runs from the last five overs. Ben Duckett accelerated the run flow by hitting skipper Nasir Hossain’s first three deliveries for a boundary and two sixes to pick 19 runs off the over.

Viljoen, who was introduced for the seventh over, had Duckett caught and bowled for 20 with his second delivery and yorked Clarke with the third ball. Overton along with Zadran began to attack. Overton hit Amir for two boundaries in the eight over to pick 15 runs. Abu Dhabi needed 13 runs from the last two overs. Overton smashed Ansari’s first delivery of the ninth over for a straight six to ensure the victory.
