Older Afghan men with young girls they claimed as “brides” were among the people evacuated from Afghanistan by the United States, according to U.S. officials

Working at intake centers in Wisconsin and the United Arab Emirates, the officials found numerous incidents in which older men presented young Afghan girls as their wives, the Associated Press reported.

And Afghan girls at a transit site in Abu Dhabi alleged that in order to escape Afghanistan, they were forced to marry older men who had raped them, according to a diplomatic cable.

These are the kind of low life scums pretending to have their lives in danger if they remained in Afghanistan under the Taliban rule, and these are the imbeciles who are pro India and anti Pakistan.

Talibans are addressing the issue of Bacha bazi which was NOT a criminal activity in Afghanistan until the Talibans took control for the first time in the 90’s. Talibans made it a criminal offense. Before that, bacha bazi was a norm of the day in Afghanistan.

In the last 20 years when Talibans were out, bacha bazi was in full swing again under the puppet govts and the American occupation.

It's not exclusively a "pathan thing", it's more of a rural thing across South Asia, the Middle east, Africa etc basically not very developed countries. Also people on here have even questioned if you're really Pakistani lol. So don't resort to further polarizing Pakistanis.

I am not here to convince anyone of what country I belong. too. Those doubting me can think whatever they want, water off a duck's back. This thread is about Afghanistan not other regions of South Asia. As the culture there is similar to our KPK region is it hypocritical not to mention the similarities. Had you been to the KPK would know they often don't even allow their women outdoors. Truthtellers who criticize their own country are often accused as being in cahoots with the enemy by idiots.

Their man like Imran Khan and Shahid Afridi are well known to have had so many illicit relations throughout their lives. When it comes to their ladies they don't even allow them to go outdoors let alone exposing their faces. It is rather common for a lady from KPK/Afghanistan to be killed for loving or wanting to marry a non KPK or Afghani man not that any man worth his salt would ever consider marrying in such an oppressive culture.

My wife originates from Muzaffarabad has a good many Pathan lady friends who often tell her terrible stories of how they are treated at home, they have no choice in how they live their life or the decisions they make. It is common for a 70 years old man in that region marrying a 20 years young lady.

Out of all Pakistanis the KPK people who are identical to Afghan's are easily the most backward. Thankfully, I am Punjabi married to a Kashmiri.

True. KP women may be a bit worse off but generally, women in Pakistan do not have any right, and there is widespread violence against women. Throughout Pakistan, women have been shot and killed for wanting to marry a man of choice, serving dinner late, giving birth to a baby girl, refusing a marriage proposal. Heck, this is a country where penchayats operate with impunity and churn out vile decisions such as revenge rapes, underage marriages, watta satta, and vani.

Having travelled throughout the Middle East, I can say with a lot of confidence that women in the ME are much much better off than women in Pakistan. The stats show this too! Our country has the highest number of honor killings, we are the fourth worst in gender gap and women safety. The kind of cruelty and oppression women in Pakistan faced is unmatched! Not to mention, majority of Pakistani women cannot read or write because they are denied access to education. Every day, 14 women are killed by their husbands or in-laws.

The hypocrisy is very prevalent. Just look at Khalil Ur Rehman - he has affairs with women, directs vulgar item numbers but tells women on TV to cover up and be modest. Another example is Orya Maqbool who morally polices women and tells women to stay home but at the same time has an extramarital affair with the producer Harf-e-Raaz. People like these two disgust me!

This coming from a man who has had so many affairs during his career yet can't tolerate a lady playing sport tells us everything about Pathan culture. Obviously Afridi doesn't even have basic cooking skills so thick is he. All i see is oppression every time I look at KPK/Afghan ladies appearing so sad and oppressed.
