What's new

Osama Bin Laden is DEAD

According to Colonel Imam he was dead way back due to serious kidney problem

Killing bin laden solves nothing, maybe gives closure to the family members of the victims, which is needed. But it creates a whole lot of other problem, specifically for pakistan. Pakistan has suffered the most because of this "war against terror." Which was basically a one man hunt. Bin laden had already gone into hiding, he was never going to come back out and show his face to america, but they killed him and now some revenge attacks might happen. Thats why some people are worried.

But whose fault was it that Bin Laden was (allegedly) in Pakistan?

Kinda hard for them to make it "staged".

If they tried faking it, the risk of lowering their reputation would be too high.

Just imagine OBL comes and gives a speech, tomorrow. Wouldn't look to good on all parties involved.

didnt OBL die 10 years ago?

Americans getting all excited. Saying that they feel safer and can sleep properly at night.
I don't believe the death of one person is going to change much.

Its not really about feeling safer. I think most Americans realize that his death probably won't change a whole lot. Its the symbolism behind his death that Americans are celebrating. It has been 10 years since 9/11....this has been a long time coming for Americans

how did the pak govt allow the US army to conduct an operation in pakistan???? i thought that the pak govt was firm on no us forces will set their feet in pakistan.

Just hope those celebrating don't get carried away. I'm sure the Tea Party will be having a field day with this news.

Just like the govt is firm in their leaders not being corrupt. :D

iam not osama fan ...imagine he is alive and comes on tv and say iam alive ...that would be the biggest LMAOOOOOOOO EVER

Apprently, the women (wife) was used as a human shield by their own people.

Lool and so the spin begins...

The guy went out using his wife as a human shield...he was a coward all along who couldn't even die a man...

And no US casualties either...those 5 were no match for the might of the all conquering USA...

They will probably argue that since they were wearing shoes technically no US feet were in Pakistan :ibutt

he isn't seen once...sorry I don't believe anything until I see with my own eyes.

True, but I just don't see Obama risking his whole political career like this.

He had to be darn certain before making such a speech!

Pakistan's security obviously failed. But this is just the blame game then. A reply could be was it pakistan's fault the attacks occurred? no it was a security failure of american forces. America should have captured him alive, had him convicted in a court and then he should have served punishment.

Most of those people outside of the white house that they are showing on tv are younger. And I also hope they don't get too carried away

No and I don't thik they will ever. This is gonna be one of the most famous conspiracy theory.

Thanks Nadeem.

What's the coverage in local pakistan channels? Can they confirm whether there was indeed an US operation in the said mansion?

Any PPer living nearby Abattobad could update us on this

TIA

Nah, they never said OBL used her as a shield.

Apparently, he was a part of the fight back and was resultantly killed.

They are from George Washington University. They have finals this week haha

By the sounds of things, looks like the ISI gave up OBL to the US. Story seems lulz worthy to me, the greatest military on Earth couldn't manage to take the guy alive?

$10 to say the ISI killed him to keep him shut and worked out a deal with the US. Either way, now that it's become apparent that we were heavily involved in this situation, I think we've hit the jackpot, so to speak.

Let's see what we get in return for this. Promised security? Big money? Weapons? No more talk on our nuclear arsenals? All of the above? I don't know, but this is huge for Americans. The Dem's are guaranteed at least the next election, perhaps more if they spin this right.

Yeah, they are all from the nearby university in Washington.

You may have a point.

Would be very clever of the Pakistani government.

Do you see them being this clever, though? The story about them not knowing anything seems more plausible.

:ibutt

I'm more worried about the rednecks which can essentially be found in every state. Speaking of rednecks, Terry Jones will probably be taking all the credit for this.

Its mind boggling that even after this, not a single post here about the possibility that ISI, in reality actually is a 2-faced jackass western media keeps calling them anyway. Everyone here believes in all kind of conspiracy theories but none will dare to even put forward a possibility that may be it is because of ISI only that he was in pakistan in first place. Even when its so goddamm obvious.

Without passing any comment on how USA may have benefited from this so called "war on terror", shouldn't pakistanis be asking questions about its Army's role in all of this? or you will wait for western media to first print news about how Osama not getting caught earlier was helping filling pockets of some in pakistan?

How the hell was no US soldier killed...was it that easy to kill Osama - most wanted men?

They're not, but the ISI is. You guys don't credit them enough, clever folk. I quite like them.

If it weren't for them God knows what would be of Pakistan right now.

finally they r showing the place where he was killed

2 pakistani brothers :umarakmal :kami were hiding him

Sky news are talking about what they'll do with the body. Apparently the White House is ensuring the body is kept within strict islamic jurisdiction :)))

I fail to see how hiding OBL in Pakistan would've been beneficial to Pakistan in any respect at all.

Sky News is discussing whether Pakistan intelligence didnt know ie was incompetent or knew and facilitated Bin Laden...

Also focusing on the distrust between USA and the ISI...

Not much thanks so far...more a kind of what were Pakistan upto...

Seems as though they will imply USA discovered Bin Laden by themselves and Pakistan obviously helped them because they had do...

This actually looks very humiliating for Pakistan and will continue to do so...

Khabri, I'm good friends with some rednecks and don't worry, they aren't all that ignorant lol. But I do get what you mean. Anti-Muslim sentiments have been running high in the states lately anyways. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

I doubt that shaykh sahib ... obviously the USA will take all the glory but in diplomatic circles I think this will help relationships between Pakistan and the US

I agree, this is probably as big a boost to our international reputation as one can manage. We don't know the full story and neither do these beta reporters, fortunately or unfortunately, the power makers have all the facts.

Glad he's dead. He must have pretty decent support to live so close to Islamabad.

Then they don't deserve to be called rednecks or in that case you need to find yourself some new friends :ibutt ;-)

Army/ISI interests correlate directly with stability in the country.

Bingo. If they hid OBL for 9 years just to get some massive promise of security/weapons/business, I could give a hoot.

I'm cautiously optimistic, this may be a new dawn for Pakistan. Think about it; America is set to leave Afghanistan and we know ISI officials are involved in this - they were at the operation!

Insha'Allah lowkeyP, imo this can only be good for Pakistan. The influence of Osama was obviously over-rated but if America leaves the subcontinent maybe sh!t will start getting back to normal.

Will gaddafi be scared now, they take their time but take out everyone who cmes their way

Express News just showed a picture of his body on the news broadcast. Well, his face, not his whole body

We don't need to worry too much about the hows and whys of OBL being in Pakistan. Maybe the ISI was sheltering him, maybe they weren't. End result: ISI helped to kill OBL and unless something drastic changes in the future, that is what will be written in history.

Maybe, just maybe - our nation can ease off the constant pressure thats on us from the US, India, and non state actors. Perhaps we can arm ourselves without others giving too hoots. Maybe we can finally look for sustainable energy plans and bring some business back to Pakistan.

forget Abbottabad , a house like that even in Karachi will not be worth a million dollars :))

Americans must have low standards to call that a mansion :akhtar

Time will tell as to what this does for Pakistan internationally...the fact that he lived in a $1m house in a semi urban area does suggest either intelligence incompetence or intelligence co-operation...this will get scrutinised...

But it certainly won't get back to normal...his is a symbolic figure...he doesn't pull strings...Islamic militant organisations exist without Osama's leadership...Pakistan's help will be pissing off a lot of militants right now...I personally think things internally are going to get a lot worse in terms of dealing with reprisals...its a symbolic victory not a strategic one...and the US's role should continue as the War On Terror is far from over...

OH DEAR

Apparently Abottabad is a military garrison, there's a military training camp some 200 metres of OBL's villa.

picture of his face , i captured the screenshot from geo channel , view at your own risk as it is a disturbing image .

Lol at people actually believing the fake story created by Americans. Osama was dead way back in 2001-02 in the mountains of Torah Borah near Jalalabad which the Americans carpet bombed. This is all drama because if the Americans and NATO forces stay longer in Afghanistan they are going to get there *sses whipped by the Taliban. Taliban are almost controlling all of Afghanistan except Kabul. Americans kept him alive in the eyes of the World when they needed and now when they needed his death they killed him in the eyes of the World.
