Pakistan heading for the number 1 ranking in ODIs it seems.

Meaningless ranking if zero trophies are won, world cups, CT etc..

If they do go to world cup We will see of they live up to number 1 ranking.

We've seen it in other sports football example we're teams like Belgium reach number 1 rankings due to qualifying performances and are no where near winners circle in tournaments. Pakistan currently are same around this era.

Pakistan has only played 26 ODI's since the 2019 ODI WC whereas India has played 54. The team is no where near ready for the WC yet.

Weak links are Shadab and Nawaz. I still can't believe Nawaz is still in the squad, he is a certified TTF. Why is Wasim still getting picked? He is borderline TTF.

There was nothing wrong with the surface, the entire PP was wasted with pointless dot balls, then we had usual go slow from imam and Babar. Neither batsmen showed any real acceleration, imam was playing for his 100 and then would have played a few wild slots after to try and boost his pathetic scoring rate to make it look like he was being aggressive. Our middle isn't great at all and pretty clueless at pacing an inns batting 1st.

This approach will be exposed in tournament cricket against full strength sides as it has done in the past.

Southee Ferguson Santner Phillips Bracewell Williamson Conway Allen all missing from the last series I think which means it is pretty much a B team their main team won the last series.

Apart from Ferguson and Philips maybe Conway no one is out and out better then current squad for these conditions it’s a decent squad which has been outplayed easily.

No.

But it’s far from a poor squad as some are trying to portray

We did play poorly in the PP, but it wasn't as flat as Rawalpindi pitch. Another problem is our weak and one dimensional middle order. If we lose our top 3, it's game over for us 90% of the time. India had sort of a same problem in 2015-19. Even in presence of Dhoni and Yuvraj, who were both well past their prime, their middle order was a liability and so is ours now.

My memory is foggy, Pak was bowled out for something around 130 and lost I think or might be another series around that one.
