A chance here for haris sohail to put pressure on those currently in tests side

shehzhad needs to get a ton and retire out
 
I think its between Haris and Hafeez for the last batting slot. Don't think Shan Masood would be selected after his two innings here. Hafeez will probably edge it due to his bowling. I am not sure about the idea but maybe Hafeez can be played in one of the specialist spinner's slot - over Yasir Shah or if there is nothing in the wicket for fast bowlers, in place of a pacer?

Yup, I will play him over a pacer if the pitches are dust-bowls.

But he scored 50's in both innings which is a good sign.
Haris & Babar, 2 of the most talented young players in the country. Lets see what they can do. Haris should aim for a big score, if he gets one, he will play the first test iA.

Azam is not getting it anytime soon. Don't think he is ready.

But Haris should be there no doubt.I would play him at five with Asad at three.

Because Siddle has been bowling poorly for an extended period of time. Mitch won us our two most recent Test series.

Still don't know what the big deal about sohail is. Doesn't seem teht ype of player whoc ant stay long at the crease. Now I could be wrong but he needs to hit a ton or two against some heavy opposition e.g. this match!
 
I'll be interested to see if they attack in the 3rd session, they need to get the lead to at least 300, which is looking quite doubtful at this rate...

He's played what 3 international matches?

And based on what performance? This one innings after a good last innings which we have no idea about because cricinfo only shows the boundaries and wickets?

No ones saying he is Miandat but can we give some time before we seem busts? We've given Umar Amin 25 or so international opportunities and he's shown nothing in any instance so we can wait before throwing books b
 
I think Haris has been told to spend some time in the middle as he might get to play in the first test..That's why Haris pricing his wicket. Normally he doesn't play this slow.
 
Haris won't play in the first test anyway. Whoever gets a better score between these two in this innings will get the nod ahead of Azhar if he fails in the first test.

Granted he's probably better than that ******** left hander, but he since he isn't a ******** he needs to smash the door down. Nice 40's and 50's just wont work. He needs a big big innings!!

He has been smashing those innings in domestics for years now.

Looked good in the first dig too.

not doubting that but he needs to hit one on a tour match or in this type of match otherwise he just wont get noticed. Very hard for those that lack influence unless you smash a big innings!

I think haris is playing a game where he is pretending that he is facing shane warne on a day 10 pitch loll
 
They need to attack now, not a lot of time left, they should look to make another 100 runs...

There is no compare between Harris and Babar, one has average of 52, other just starting... Harris is only lefty we have, to me he should have being playing two years ago. Are we only going to play a player until he hit 30? - There was a time Pakistan was trying teenagers regularly, now 30 in bare minimum requirement, by then players are already over.
 
Good practice, that is the whole point of game not sure why people are having a go at them due to strike rate.

Yes a win would be good but most important is that these lads get plenty of practice and help lift their confidence as surely batting against Mitch and co competently will make them believe they are good enough.
 
the key for me is Lyon's performance. Younis hasn't batted against new lyon yet. He could be vulnerable. misbah is looking shakey, shafiq is hit and miss. Azhar is absent. Our openers are always dodgy. The A team could do better than the actual squad.

Younus shouldn't have any problem against Lyon. He is extremely good against spin especially the offies.
