Since it's a drawn series, it's only fair that the English team joined in the press ups celebration too after the match.
 
perfect match for PAK statistically - 1 double, 1 single hundred, couple of 5 fers & a possible 10 wicket win.

Only blemish is probably allowing 35 more to the last pair.
 
I hope we take the entirety of the day to get these runs.

Would be lovely to see Cook's and Anderson's faces

Suppose it's Yasir, then which is interesting as he's been anonymous since Lords until this innings. No real standout performer from Pak hence the last two thrashings.
 
England may as well just ask Root or Vince to come on and bowl pies.

I don't think that has been the point of contention.

Its good that he's contributed. In fact this was probably his best series overall,
and that is saying something, because he never took more than 3 wickets an innings and ends with an average north of 30. And he's now 17 Tests @ 35.
Which is to say that he may huff and puff but he never blows the house down. Jarrod Kimber put it very well on Cricinfo.

Pakistan has better bowlers than him waiting in the wings. Sadaf and Imran most egregiously so.

The way I see it, he got the breakthrough while others couldn't simply due to his pace (at least in this game).
 
If I had the option, I would have scrapped the T20s & played a 5th Test. This series deserves a decider.

I would scrape some ODIs. 3 ODIs is good enough as Pak will get thrashed likely anyway. Add another T20 and a test.

He can make a key change - today and at OT but he's generally too expensive. If the batters backed the bowlers on general he'd have been the game changer - takes key wickets with burst of pace but if he averaged 20 with bat you'd keep him.

100+ partnership and smith wont give it up easily now. Also Lanka had a miracle to survive this far 50/5, same bowlers on them now. At most a draw (what happens if they draw to our rankings?)
 
ECB should take care of Finn; he is going to be the main bowler in IND & AUS. Should enjoy the Aussie wickets & he'll definitely trouble Indian top order with his bounce.
 
England hold 8 out of 9 Test trophies.

Delighted we're still the team they can't get one over on.

Or because they weren't skilled enough?

Of course pace is useful, but has Pakistan lost much over the years, by having him spray it around
4 times out of 5. And not only is he expensive, he's actually not that penetrative. Pretty poor SR.

Plenty of Tests are lost by a margin of 40-60 runs and that is where it makes all the difference if
you are playing two bowlers like Wahab and Rahat.
