What's new

Pakistan comfortably defeat Zimbabwe by 8 wickets in third T20I to win the series 3-0

No point in playing Rizwan today. He is not a t20 player and neither the captain. He wouldn't have added much value today. Would have been good to have seen Rohail in XI today just for his confidence.

While others have been decent but Hasnain has clearly been the best pacer after Shaheen on this tour. Guy has really worked hard on his game and that is visible, hopefully he can continue the upward trajectory.

Our management definitely doesn't rate Zafar. Otherwise playing Imad in a dead rubber ahead of him makes no sense.

Parallels between him and Mohd Sami are aplenty. Hope he doesn't end up like him.
Or even worse Bilawal Bhatti.

Sami could swing the ball both ways and was about 10kph quicker than Musa, not to mention a few inches taller. Bilawal Bhatti is the more apt comparison at this stage.

Zafar at 7 would have made batting pretty thin. What could have been done is that they should have kept Faheem for that no 7 position and added Zafar instead of one of Musa or Rauf, that would have resulted in giving oppurtunity to Zafar in the series as well as keeping a decent batting depth.

That's every over he's ever bowled in his life.

He bowled well in the first ODI he played but got smashed in the second. He is not half as bad as posters make him out to be and will get better the more he plays. He is better investment than Fahim atleast and probably given chance to bat can also score 10 to 15 runs that Fahim scores.

Zafar probably will outperform Fahim in batting.

I enjoy Sana Mir’s commentary quite a bit. Don’t know why some of you dislike her. She’s very refreshing to listen to.

Faheem at 7 and Zafar at 8 would have made a decent depth. None of them alone is good enough to hold the all rounder spot without any depth to support.

Usman Qadir looks good. If he plays 1st-Class cricket he can be even better.

Some people expect every new comer to be a world beater otherwise he is labelled as bad. Development of players takes time and I guess its high time fans realize that. None of the top players in the cricket currently were world beaters at the start. To give one of many examples even ABD struggled for a long time with average of 30s in tests and had his fare share of struggles in white ball cricket, if he would have been judged the same way we judge early in his career many would have said he is pretty ordinary.

He's every bit as bad as posters make him out to be. He has an awful domestic record that in no way shape or form warranted an international call up (FC and List A average of over 45, T20 economy of 8.77). He cannot swing the ball to save his life, is probably only an inch taller than Bilawal Bhatti, and bowls a boundary ball every over.

Usman Qadir has been the biggest positive for the Pakistan in this series. Deserves to be included regularly.

Yes, several top players struggled at the start of their careers. What they all have in common though are domestic performances to actually justify their selection in the first place. Musa Khan does not.

Interesting that Babar has been using Hasnain in the middle overs not at the death.

Usman Qadir can bat as well as Musa so tail-end batting is not too shaby, and in T20s it hardly comes to lower order batting. Against a decent side maybe we lose a lots of wickets but then you would have likes of Imad and Wahab, so Fahim's s mediocre batting is never required.

Qadir is bowling beautifully here. It's a shame it's being supplemented by the commentary of Sana Mir :mv

Does anybody know what first class team does qadir play for

He is part of Central Punjab in new domestic structure. A regular contributor in T20s but not many oppurtunities in longer format cricket. He got 2 wickets in 18 overs he bowled in last FC match he played vs KPK in 2019.

OMG this female commentator is the wort ive ever heard

You sound sexist. She’s pretty good! Her technical analysis runs circles around Bazid and Rameez. Other than that, her voice is very calm and collected, she knows what she’s doing.

And she’s had a far, far more illustrious career than Rameez and Bazid could ever have hoped to have.

Who I really dislike are Akram and Marina. Akram is only tolerable when he provides actual insight which is pretty much never.

This year, Sana Mir, Sikandar Bakht, and Tariq Saeed have been the standout Pakistani commentators for me.

Agreed. However, its the fault of the management to select some players too early and without much polish.

Sana is a good commentator, speaks very well. Just found out she has a degree in Statistics and Economics which makes sense.

Bro she could be Kamala Harris in terms of intellect but if shes going to bore the audience with here style of expression and delivery then its no point.

She wont get a deal with Sky Sports even if Sky are looking for a female Pakistani voice for the tour of Pakistan.

Strange comparison, not exactly the bastion of female intellect.

Regardless, I think she's doing a good job.

Sana was a world class cricketer, and I'm sure she analyses well, but from what I've heard tonight her command over English doesn't appear to be all that great. Sounds a bit nervous as well. Urooj Mumtaz is far more enjoyable to listen to.

Yes Zimbabwe is not a world beater but still I guess its good to field a decent combination in the match. Zafar is a decent bat but still averages 21 in FC cricket, 10 in List A cricket and 15 in T20 cricket, so not really a number 7 all rounder. Usman Qadir has 1 50 in FC and 1 50 in List A while Musa has none as of now. So yes this combination of no 7,8,9 can be tried but the only justification would have been a slightly weaker opposition.

Not really, it looked out on first glance but MashaAllah Qadir turns the ball a lot

Keeper should have known it hit him outside the line, and the bowler knew it was a legspinner and would've continued to spin away from the stumps.

Or just have played Wahab instead of Rauf who is just as good as Kamran Akmal in the field, and probably a better batter than Fahim.

All the credits goes to Imran Tahir, he worked with him during pandemic in Abdul Qadir academy. All because of his father

Qadir on fire in the series. Contender for man of the series maybe along with ofcourse Babar

I know it's just Zimbabwe but this Qadir guy has been pretty impressive.

And he picks another.

Wait till you listen to Isa Guha, Virendar Sehwag or Chishti Mujahid commentating.
