What's new

Pakistan end Day 3 on 153/3, needing 228 to win the 3rd Test against South Africa

Azhar can pass Salim Malik for 5th all time if he scores 112+.

Imagine this,
Younis Khan
Javed Miandad
Inzamam ul-Haq
Mohammad Yousuf

...

Azhar Ali
:danish

Hahah

They change captain after every 2nd match.

I can say the same guys have called for 5 different captain in last year and gave explanations how they will be the best but then just to change them in next series. Lolol.

LMAO well said....

Why Azhar is shuffling so much - even if it's missing leg, most umpires will give him LBW just for that ugly shuffle.

Cant blame them, we didnt have a decent captain since Wasim. Salman Butt had potential but was morally corrupt.

Misbah was really good in tests (Retired unbeaten as home captain) but the team he had was one of the worst and there was no PSL to produce products otherwise might have done better in LOIs as well.

No 0ne is claiming next big thing. Let someone develop, he is only 23 and in his early test career.

Lets see how long this age argument lasts. He averages 32 in domestics and as expected is averaging less than that in international cricket, but Pakistanis never learn.

If you look at the averages, it will all be very clear. :kp

Azhar Ali 2(20), Asad Shafiq 3(2)

Mashallah Azhar

I knew this last month when I found a thread-

"Sohaib Maqsood, next captain of Pakistan?" :maqsood

The names i have heard from similar posters (or acknowledgements) since i joined. And with long explanations.

Umar Amin (when he did good in A series and domestic)
Imad Wasim (when he did well in PSL and List A tournament)
Mohammad Amir (when he did well in CT)
Shadab Khan (when he did well in CT and SL)
Fakhar Zaman (when he did well in CT and Zimbawe)
Imam ul Haq (when he did well against Ireland)
Babar Azam (when he did well against Ire/Eng)
Mohammad Hafeez (When he did well against Aus)
Asad Shafiq (when he did well well against Aus second test)

and now Shan Masood (when he did well in this series)

but then they just throw a new name after few failures :D

We will loose this match anyway. WHy can't both these choker gets out so we can start fresh next series

Wait till Imam hits a 50, there will be a new entry on your list :))

Edit: Oops you already have him there :)))

You guys really think these guys will be dropped if they fail today? No way what is happening.

So it's better that they score some runs for country sake.

The reason Shan Masood and Abid Ali have improved their game over the time. They both play a lot of games in Islamabad at that ground.

Abid should come in now for Imam. He averaged 49 in QEA Trophy in 2017/18, 47 in 2018/19, and 74 in the Pakistan A team series with five hundreds and eight fifties in total !

Okay he has a belly, but tell him his selection is conditional on following a fitness plan.

2 more before the close will be do nicely here.

So just because he startedred his career averaging 32 do you think he will not get better?

As fans we have to be consistent not emotional.

Same posters criticize the team , management and everyone but themselves throw new names for captaincy explaining how they will be the best after every series when their last 'best candidate' fail few times.

Thats stooping to new lows like the team.

Inzi has found an excuse to keep him out. Next test series in Oct so yea Imam safe till then.

Sa is doing favor on azhar by not giving ball to olivier.

No one can match what Styen bowled in this spell, not even Rabada. But yes, Olivier can bounce it from good length and Azhar with his shuffling will get cramped for space to block.

Let's see if AsLi can put on 130-140+ here for the 3rd wicket. At least bat out the day.
:azhar2 :shafiq2

There is quality opener in the domestics. Fakhar, Shan, Imam, Abid, Sami Aslam are the best we have to offer. Other than Fakhar and Abid none of them have decent average.

We have to find two who can improve and then stick with them.

So just because he startedred his career averaging 23 do you think he will not get better?

Hard to imagine.... domestic cricket is easier and he averages 32 there, how do you expect him to average 40 in international cricket?

Feel sorry for Azhar . Wonderful gentleman but hurts to see him struggle so much and maybe go out on a low.

Seems that Azhar has lost his sponsorship with CA. No bat stickers and unbranded gloves and pads.

Azhar trying to get out and be put out of his misery

This series boils down to not the skill but pace difference of our and SA pacers, 10-15k is huge difference. With older ball lot of wickets have gone to effort balls that go above 145k.

SA has three bowlers who consistently bowl above 145 and avg 140-142, where as we have who barely touched 140 and avg 128-132. If Amir and Afridi were able to match their pace things would have been very different.

Our main strength of pst is now our biggest weakness, we don’t have fast bowlers anymore, Military medium is best we got. You cannot blame selectors either, these are the best and fastest bowlers we have. Most of FC teen avg bowlers are not above 125k, thanks to our pitches you don’t need fast bowler to put stats. People on PP and media talk about Mir Humza, that guy is absolutely rubbish bowler with zero pace like Abbas. I don’t get how many trundlers we are going to play, four? 👹👹👹

Combine that with fact that in UAE you don’t need fast bowlers at all, actually opposite is needed in low slow wickets.

We have or forced to reverse our cricketing culture, fast bowling was our edge, no Asian team vested in fast bowling culture like we did, that was partly thanks to our domestic needs, now we have gone opposite, fast bowler is last thing we need to win at home. This is death of cricket as we low it. RIP Pakistan Crciket 🤬🤬🤬

Uff that is such a risky shot Azhar!

Playing across the pad with an angled bat with the ball coming in. He has been lbw like that countless times in his career, but typical Pak bat to never learn.

Need to take out grass from QeA wicket, and play FC cricket in autumn, spring & summer - koun kambakht hai jo work bone crashing hard to throw that leather piece at 150K, when 125K is earning better return!!!!!

Imagine if these two get tons, get us near it and in typical Azhar/Asad fashion falter before the finish line and Pak collapse losing by 20 odd runs.
