What's new

Pakistan finish Day 3 at 64/3 in their second innings, trail by 276 runs at the Gabba

Then should not have bowled him to he ground yesterday. He deserved a go at Wade, Paine at might have picked a couple and boosted his confidence for next game.

Yesterday before the start of the play Pak had to try its best to come back into the match by restricting Aussies to 200-300. So Azhar used his main bowlers quite a lot, now there isnt anything at stake. I think Warner's wicket in Aus would give him enough confidence to into the next match if he is selected and fit to go.

So a new batsman comes to the crease and our best captain introduces part time spinner. And continues with other part timer on the other end. How can you be so stupid at this level? Even a club level cricketer would know that you have to go for the kill. What have we fans done to face this humiliation?

As soon as i saw misbah taking over the role, i knew it will be a disaster. Never liked him as a captain he was too defensive as a captain too. It was UAE that made him famous in tests otherwise the results would have been worst than what sarfaraz has left behind.

And i feel we now have more people playing in domestic who haven't gone to school or don't go. This is a huge loss. Educated players mostly turn out to be good captains. Unless and until we have players with proper background education, you will see talented players with no brains. Umer Akmal is one of the examples.
Misbah is a MBA

The saddest part for Pakistan Cricket today is whatever happened with them in the 1st inning happened and we bowled and captained bat and Australia batted good on a flat pitch. But you'll see Pakistan roll over under 300 in this same pitch.

Around 35 overs left today - I think, they'll bowl tonight, may be 10 overs. That's targeting a lead of 400 & declare or get all-out, in 23-25 overs after Tea.

How was Naseem Shah bowled to ground yesterday- he bowled probably less than 18 overs which is around 20 percent of the overs yesterday! If a 16 year old cannot bowl his share of overs in the first day of his debut test, then he was probably not ready for test cricket.

Azhar is trying to up the over rate and he has succeeded in that. I guess there are points docked for slow overrate

Probably the right move. But you need a workhorse bowler to do plug the end. I think Shaheen is the best in plugging the run rate. More than Naseem,Shaheen probably should have been bowling.
Shaheen is injury prone, just play the part timers and hope the aussies declare soon. So that we can be bowled out for 150 and end this nightmare test.

Can't believe that Naseem literally hasn't bowled since he took that wicket  Surely could've taken a couple more with the way we was bowling.

Might as well save some points from being deducted, we aint getting any points from this game and might end up with a negative score due to slow over rate

300?
150 tops

Even Aussies do the same after certain number of overs. They toss the ball to Travis head or Labu. Australia also tries to protect their bowlers from burning out. They are seasoned pro bowlers.

It's obvious Pakistan is trying to not lose points for being behind the over rate. Just a pathetic defeatist mindset though

The Aussies don't bowl part timers to new batsmen or at the start of a new session.

Might be struggling with fitness - unless he starts after Tea, he must have damaged something.

I mean, this should be Azhar Ali's cup of tea when Pakistan come on to bat. They can't win, so they'll have to go for the draw. Blockathon incoming, perhaps?

Surely they wouldn't keep him on the field for 3+ hours if he was carrying a niggle? There's no explanation apart from Azhar and Misbah being chicken hearted defensive clowns

The problem also is the Pakistan fans.
We create threads in a heartbeat without much thought.
Case in point about Imran khan selection being inspired, another about iftikhar being a potential solid test bat.

It's the same when we get a bad loss.

No vision at all- and that is where Mickey was good. He had a medium term vision , which people couldn't see.

If Naseem doesn't bowl we should sign a petition to sack Azhar and Misbah. I bet even the Aussie commentators would sign it.

Misbah wants to prove Imran Khan Sr is the work horse so he is unnecessarily bowling him, and not bowling Naseem.

Its about picking the right players in the right format and in the right games.

Imran would be lethal in the next test which is a pink ball night test, but may not play now because he was picked on a hard bouncy pitch, not suitable for his game.
Same with ifti, hes a good t20 player, should never be playing tests, they could have played imam at 3 and haris at 6.

Well, we have 2 ultra fit teenage pacers in the team who are bowling well. But then we have an old uncle fast bowler who is struggling to cross 125kph now, even though many over here say he is a wrok horse and very fit.

And Shaheen finally gets a reward for his patience.

A petition should be made regardless if Naseem doesn't bowl. Azhar Ali should resign and forfeit as soon as possible. He has been playing with a very defensive mindset and defensive field and kept on bowling Haris and Iftikhar, even when the new batsmen came. Saj Abdullah719 are you guys able to do anything (message/ tweet Wasim Khan on his stupid decision of Hiring Misbah for the chief selector, head coach, and batting coach)

It's Test match - you can't bowl before equal amount of time on field that you were out. He might have aggravated some sort of cramp, they might have kept him on field, if it releases gradually.

Azhar has shown a defeatists attitude. He has given up and we cant have a captain like that. This is poor from him. Deserves the sack after this series. We were expected to lose, but not with such a poor attitude.

Impressed with Shaheen keeping his pace up even 30+ overs in to his innings. Hitting 140 and now two well deserved wickets. Good for his development and confidence going forward.

If i was an evil captain, i would asks my big fast bowler to try and injure the two big aussie bowlers batting at the moment. Break an arm or hand.

Shaheen is some bowler raw Pathan strength still bowing at 140+ after 32 overs and is only 19 Ma Sha Allah
