Pakistan finish Day 3 at 64/3 in their second innings, trail by 276 runs at the Gabba

Our batsmen need to be positive here without been wreckless, a miracle if we dont lose a wicket before close
 
The sad part is, even if we produce the mother of all comebacks in our Test history, we will only be able to level the scores :))

This is misbahs first test in charge.
He will do well in uae.
No one expected us to do well in australia.
Arthur would have had a similar phainta and he couldnt even win in uae against SL.

Haris’ Australian nightmare is over but I hope he won’t be dropped for the Sri Lankan series. The alternatives are inferior.

Catching practice being given by Sohail. It's probably up there as one of the worst shots I've seen a top order bats play, give the situation, and in any case.

A mediocre FC batsman would have left that ball alone. It starts wide outside the off stump and keeps going.

And Sohail plays at it anyway.

Shan’s struggles with the around the wicket angle actually began in the SA series. Steyn worked him over and now the Aussies have sniffed out where to attack him. Don’t see him lasting long here.

India had a chance to win series in Australia 1986 but due to rain and Allan Border's blockathon Aussies survived.

Haris Sohail bats at no 5 in domestics mostly, 1 down is too high for him. Even in ODIs he has played his best knocks at no 5.

There is a big difference in batting positions and I am yet to see Haris do anything of not at 1 down position so I am not sure why has he been playing their in T20s (A format doesnt look like its for him) as well as tests.

Scored two big ODI hundreds against Australia at 3 before the World Cup.
 
Haris Sohail has no back foot game at all. Plays with a vertical bat and well inside the line of the ball.
And he is our no. 3 in brisbane.

we have a perfectly good fawad alam who never got selected, and yet we persist with mediocrity again and again. just because he has a good looking cover drive, haris sohail is just a left handed hafeez.

Pakistan is very clearly not in the league of India, England, Australia, South Africa and even New Zealand anymore.

We are now clearly in the category of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and West Indies.

Very sad times.

And the most biased, corrupt & shameful umpiring in my memory. Even with rain, IND should have won 2-0, but man Aussies know how to do it collectively - players, umpires, commis, analysts, and next morning new columns. PAK also could have won 1990 MCG Test,should have won Adelaide Test and eventually series

Yes but I still rate his knocks in world cup higher than those two 100s as he looked much more fluent and in control of the innings at no 5. 100s were good but his innings at no 5 were game changing and he looks much more at ease there.

I think we need to forfeit the D/N Test. It is going to get ugly.

So there must be another division for teams you mentioned below in test cricket?
 
Gabba & WACA are the most typical AUS wickets, and they used to put tourists there for first two Tests; only WIN in their glory days didn't mind .......

I don’t think so, it is entertaining to watch Pakistan get battered by the big boys every now and then.

Sorry but SA are not a top tier test side anymore, very weak and feeble team like pakistan right now.

Everything about our game is outdated. We are well behind all the other teams in terms of facilities, academies, domestic setup, awareness of fitness, coaching and to put the icing on the cake no home Intl cricket so the fall in our cricket is hardly surprising.
 
I think India in India would do us even worse. They will score 700 and we will score 300 over two innings.
 
You know if you forget for a while that you are a Pakistani supporter, then Pakistan's innings is quite entertaining. Quality fast bowling giving batsmen a hellish time, very fun to watch.
