Pakistan finish on 223/9 at Stumps on Day 2 of the second Test vs England

Mamoon
Your suggestion that Pakistan should only get 2 Test series in England....,

Last 2 series in England for India and Pakistan:

England 3 India 1
England 4 India 1

England 2 Pakistan 2
England 1 Pakistan 1

Rizwan just go hell for the leather, no point wasting anyone's time with this going no where approach. Hit out or get out.

No. Umpire can still see how the catch was taken. His view. Otherwise why the soft signal. Anyways there goes Afridi:amir3

the sift signal, because they judge on how the fielder reacts...Quiet a few fielders celebrate the catch even if they're not sure.. In this instance, Root himself wasn't sure.

Use your head my little numpty

Soft signal is another of many flaws in cricket. Why you need soft signal when third umpire can watch replays?

No, it has a purpose as well - it reduces 50% confusion. Think this way - if there was no soft signal, how could the Tv umpire can take a call when evidence is inconclusive?

Soft signal is used as a direction - find the reasons why you should over rule main umpire. Unless it’s a conclusive error, field umpire stands and that’s the right approach. In cricket, you are out not because you are out (or not out), rather you are out (or not out) because of the judgement of the umpire - that’s why they appeal, while in soccer or basketball referee runs the game on his own.

Here, tv umpire was confirmed that it wasn’t a fair catch, so he overruled the field umpire.

Gotta make sure we last till the new ball and then throw the kitchen sink at it for 20-30 bonus runs.

Does he feature in PSL? I hope he has some credentials in the format.
Didn't play much this year which he was rightfully miffed about, but has featured in previous years with mixed returns. He was I think the highest run getter in one of the other domestic T20 tournaments last year.

Never have a seen a man smash a Chawwal on this forum and run away the way Mamoon does so.

Expert in hit and run for chawwlis

Aah OK. Who did he sit out for?

Thanks for the info

Judging by what we have seen:

Pakistan should have:

1. Retained Shadab at 7 instead of Fawad.
2. Replaced Yasir at 8 with Faheem or Amir. Even Sohail Khan!

Bess hasn’t even had a bowl. This is a four seamer match.

rizzy's not much of a power hitter but has capability to hit boundaries. I think he's had some decent LOI performances despite being written off.

Bess unlikely to bowl anyway, new ball due in 2.3 overs.

PAK didn’t think so, otherwise they would have bowled first here. The plan was to bat first and put a total for 4th innings, hence Yasir comes.

Yes, Sohail could have played, but not for Yasir rather as 5th bowler - one less batsman won’t have cont PAK much as long as that batsman isn’t named Babar Azam.

Rizwan is being bashed a lot butI think he is playing a goodosh inning with his limited ability.

choka by rizzy - dhoka nahi dhey ga

Oh god wasn’t that something? You guys remember the WC15 fiasco, SA not being played and then Waqar exiting a presser after SA was made to open against Steyn and Morkel and scoring a 49 (dumb run out).

It is. Ball is shaping in air but not much off the wicket. We have got perverted watching 350+ ODI innings, otherwise most of the Tests in 80s & 90s on this track would have gone to distance, many ending in draws. If this this difficult then people need to watch Gooch’s 154* at Leeds against Ambrose, Marshall, Walsh & Bishop.

Sure. Swing + seam + variable bounce facing Ambrose, Patterson, Marshall and Walsh.

Abbas’s defence is better than Shaheen and probably Yasir as well, but Yasir has better shot making ability. When a set batsman is there at one end, it might not be a bad idea to promote Abbas at 9, or even 8!!!

Understood thanks.

England will score 350+ against toothless Naseem and Shaheen. Have 0 faith in them to perform. Only trust Abbas to do well.
