Pakistan finish on 223/9 at Stumps on Day 2 of the second Test vs England

Yes and no. Think they should the pitch map and ENG were more good length than full length pre lunch. They corrected that post lunch though. Not unplayable conditions but enough in there. Also feel that people underappreciate counter attacks. These kind of things can throw area bowlers off. No Archer or Wood to pin the batsmen.

Did it work really after lunch? Babar got out to a shortish one, Yasir is a tailender tried to go after, Shaheen run out after 20 balls and Abbas is holding on for like half an hour now.

Think MR keeps losing count of number of balls to go. Keeps thinking there’s one to go but umpire seems to correct him :S

Pitch and air condition changes throughout the day, espeecially in England due to rain, clouds etc. So it was hard to play earlier. And many breaks did not help either. Babar was doing fine just before the unnecessary short session lunch break.

Well played M. Rizwan.
Needs to frustrate. No need to go for quick runs. Just need to hang on as long as possible.

Awkward moment when you realize that this is what we needed to do in the 3rd innings of last test.

Good stuff from the nuggety Rizwan. These have been useful runs.

Tailenders haven't added many runs but they have consumed deliveries and allowed Rizwan to stay out there.

Wow Kettleborough didnt give it out.

This was his chance to do his English umpire's call

This is why cricket is dying.

Bad light?

Why not turn on the floodlights like they do for day night matches?

Take the stupid tea break right now. And then take it from there. Sadly though, another break to suit ENG.

Can't believe some people wanted Sarfras to play ahead of Rizwan in this match.

You gotta be kidding me.

About time the batting side decides whether they wanna continue in bad light or not.

If we get to 250 it will be good for the team confidence.

Not ideal but I'd take 215-8.

If Riz can take us to 250 that'll be epic.

Very bad timing for us to go off again!! It really destroys the rhythm . . and even worse, it comes at a time when England's getting a bit frustrated! The same happened in the last test too when Babar and Shan were dominating . . Unfortunate!

Luck not favoring Pakistan.

Every time when it’s going our way - there is a break

Junaids - since Babar git out, so far 60+ is added with two wickets and one being run out - and this is a tail of four no. 11s according to you. The key here is that one set batsman is there and these no. 11s are hanging around - in fact PAK’s 5th wicket was down at 117, means bottom half can out score top half. The moral of the story is that batsmen have to do their job - you can’t compensate batting failure by loading line up with “all-rounders” to cover up for batsmen.

Or other way give a thought in this line - with set batsmen, tail is hanging enough to put up a fight .... but can it be true other way - that’s scores on board and “all-rounders” taking 20 wickets to cash on that score? Think in that line - it’s a game of specialization; people picked for their core role has to deliver and be held accountable.

excellent batting by rizwan. This guy deserves more chances. get rid of shafiq and bring back safraz. use rizwan as a proper batsman. He has amazing technique.

What an outstanding knock under pressure. well done. Please smash curran and woakes.

I maybe thinking ott but i think pak shud aim for 300. Once Pakista reach 300 i think england wud be slightly worried. With weather yet to disrupt next 3 days play 300 is a very good total. Where as 250 just isnt

300 would be too hard man. 250 would be a good enough score. Hopefully they get there.

Really, really pathetic stuff from umpires here, batsmen were comfortable playing
its not raining. god damn play

This is extremely frustrating. We already had a long lunch break, and now we're losing more time for light.

With this movement on offer, I'd want our bowlers to get as many overs at England as possible tonight.
