Another day. And the twisting in the wind continues.
The mafia know that this is battle they can't lose. They have already lost the public. I was at wedding yesterday and the abuse for Munir and NS even shocked me. The kindest word I can quote for these guys is besharam. Many of these had a soft spot for NS in the past.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Ali Muhammad Khan, on Tuesday hinted to engage in discussions with political leaders of PML-N and PPP on national issues, ARY News reported.

In a recent statement, during ARY News exclusive program ‘KHABAR Meher Bokhari Kay Saath’, the PTI leader, Ali Muhammad Khan, expressed a willingness to engage in discussions with political leaders of PPP and PML-N to address pressing national issues.

However, he clarified that the PTI founder will not compromise on his principles by negotiating with PPP and PML-N for the formation of the government in the centre.

What’s the point now? They should just keep doing what they do best, and that is abuse PMLN and PPP.

The parties can co-operate on constitutional reform. Start with a basic reform, amend the constitution so that extentions can't be given without a constitutional amendment and a unanimous SC. Put the boots back in the barracks so that no politician can be blackmailed

So Kaptaan has humiliated both NS and Munir, and this is not even mentioning the munafiq SC and the biggest munafiq of all- the CJP. A man that betrayed his oath because of his houses in London

Another day. And the twisting in the wind continues.
IA PK will come out stronger. The mafia have stolen an election in the front of the whole world and history is unforgiving. This election will bring PK civilian rule and in time our democracy will get stronger. Kaptaan has done his job, he has nailed the munafiqs and soon he will deal with Munir and company. If they kill him, they too will be killed.

One thing that is worthy to note here is PTI's stand towards rejecting and not joining the thugs of Pakistan yet again. If they had done so, all of their narratives would have been going down the drain so they kept their narrative alive and people know who is right and who is wrong this time. This is not 1971 anymore, people know.

Just saw Dawn and it looks things are pretty final on the coalition to form the government. Has the military blessing guess. Is this likely to last the full term.
-----------------

After a few days of uncertainty and ‘will-they-won’t-they’, the country finally got the answer to the most burning of electoral questions: who would be the next prime minister of Pakistan.

It will apparently be a second shot at premiership for Shehbaz Sharif, the seemingly ‘reluctant’ consensus candidate, who was the one receiving pledges of allegiance from frontline political leaders of six of the country’s main parties (except the PTI), as they announced on Tuesday night their intention to form a government in the Centre and provinces.

There was a palpable sense of déjà vu as TV screens showed Shehbaz, Asif Zardari, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Sadiq Sanjrani and Aleem Khan taking their seats at the joint presser at Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain’s residence in the capital — it seemed like the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had reformed after their pre-election breakup.

But Shehbaz, who kept insisting throughout the day — even during the late-night presser — that he would request Nawaz to take up the mantle of premiership, was revealed to have secured his brother’s blessing to become leader of the coalesced house. The announcement, which came in the form of a tweet by Marriyum Aurangzeb, seemed to have been drafted beforehand as it was posted as soon as the presser ended.

Maryam Nawaz, it was revealed, would be the coalition’s candidate for the slot of Punjab chief minister.

The PTI’s succinct reaction to these late-night developments came in the form of a photo of the six party leaders, tweeted from the party’s official X account with the caption: ‘Mandate thieves’.

‘Same page’

Mr Zardari, known for his ability to sway even the staunchest of political rivals, was the one to make the formal announcement: “We will take Pakistan out of difficult times,” he said as he revealed that the political leaders gathered with him had decided to form the government together.

He also struck a reconciliatory note — a far cry from the line taken by his son Bilawal during his own remarks following the PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting earlier in the day — saying that fence-mending was the need of the hour in the prevailing political situation and that the PTI should also be included in that process.

“It is not that we want that PTI does not enter reconciliation. It should, and every other political force should come and talk to us. Our economic and defence agenda should be common. We should move forward with our commonalities and then make the house of Sharif and others successful, so we can make Pakistan successful.”

Shehbaz recounted how those gathered represented “a-near two-thirds majority” in parliament, adding that they had all come together “to tell the nation that we all accept the split mandate”.

He also hinted that Asif Zardari could be the next president of Pakistan, telling a questioner: “We will not disappoint you” when asked if the PPP leader would be the next head of state.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, who had been taunting Mr Bhutto-Zardari’s “shattered dream” of becoming PM just hours ago, then piped up to say that no interest could be greater than serving Pakistan for any party at the moment.

“With mutual cooperation, we will strengthen democracy and support Mian Shehbaz Sharif. We have supported him before and will do so in future,” he told the news conference while seated next to Mr Zardari, whose son he was taunting just hours ago.

Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party leader Aleem Khan also chimed in, saying: “I am hopeful the upcoming government of Shehbaz Sharif will efficiently take such decisions and end miseries of the poor,” he added.

Conspicuous by his absence was erstwhile PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who was busy with his own party’s central shura. However, the younger Sharif sibling told reporters that he would be speakling to the Maulana soon to seek his support.

Later on Tuesday night, it emerged that BAP leader Sadiq Sanjrani had met with the Maulana to discuss the modalities of government formation in Balochistan.

Earlier pressers ‘superceded’

The late-night joint presser flew in the face of earlier press engagements, addressed by Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif, as well as MQM-P’s rejoinder to the former.

In his remarks after the meeting of the party’s CEC, Mr Bhutto-Zardari had said that the party had refused to join the future government, but had assured the PML-N of their support in the formation of the government and election of the prime minister.

This arrangement, he had said, would be in exchange for top constitutional offices, including president, National Assembly speaker, Senate chairman and the four governors.

“Neither the PTI, nor PML-N, nor PPP are in a position to form their own government, and if we do not support PML-N, we will have to go for re-election, which the country does not afford,” he had said.

“The PPP has decided that while we are not in a position to join the federal government ourselves, nor will we be interested in taking ministries in such a setup, we also do not want to see political chaos in the country.”

This offer was ‘happily’ accepted by Shehbaz Sharif, who in turn had challenged PTI-backed independents to show their hand – and their majority in the house – if they had the numbers.

“If the (PTI backed) independents think they have a majority they should come forward and form the government in the Centre. We will welcome it and sit on the opposition benches… Pakistan has to move forward… now our fight will be against inflation,” he had said.

He had also referred to the party’s wooing of independents, saying that they had the right to take the free agents onboard.

Mr Bhutto-Zardari had also assailed the conduct of the MQM-P, alleging that the party had been ‘handed’ seats in Karachi.

“Our candidates were subjected to violence, their offices and cars were burned. But despite all this, we will not compromise on the peace and progress of the city of Karachi. Our message to [MQM-P] is not to engage in the politics of hatred and refrain from dividing the city on linguistic lines,” he had said.

In response, Faisal Sabzwari had expressed surprise over the tone and tenor of Bilawal’s speech, but said he would not respond in kind. But in the same breath, he then derided the PPP chairman for lashing out because “his dreams of becoming PM had been shattered by the popular vote”.

Numbers game

As per the Election Commission of Pakistan’s tally, the total number of general seats won by the six parties which announced their plans to form a coalition led by Shehbaz Sharif — PML-N, PPP, MQM-P, PML-Q, IPP and BAP — comes to 152.

This clearly shows that these parties will easily achieve the minimum required number of 169 to form the government at the Centre after the addition of 60 women and 10 minority seats in their tally. However, it is yet to be seen if these parties will be able to get to the next magic number of 224, which is required to obtain the elusive two-thirds majority in a 336-member National Assembly.

Since 101 independents, including 92 PTI-backed independents, have emerged victorious in the Feb 8 elections, the allocation of reserved seats depends upon the decision taken by these independents to either join a party or remain independent.

If the PTI-backed candidates decide to join the Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM), as announced by the party, it will get a share in the women and minorities seats as well.

However, since the MWM has only won a seat only from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the PTI would only be entitled to a share in the 10 reserved seats allocated to women from that province.

According to Article 51(3) of the Constitution, there are 32 women reserved seats from Punjab, 14 from Sindh and four from Balochistan. These women seats will be distributed among the parties on the basis of general seats won by these parties in each province.

The 10 minority seats, however, will be distributed among the parties on the basis of total general seats won by the parties all over the country, since the whole country is considered to be one constituency for minorities.

List all IND candidates that have a questionable past or skeletons in their closets so that we can pre-empt their eventual turncoat moves. Maybe you can answer this question?

They made the right call in 2022.

But they made the wrong call by voluntarily giving away the provincial assemblies.

Now they are claiming the peoples mandate, having had seats stolen from them and will take place in opposition claiming the moral victory.

Of all the winners in this elections 30/35 InD are true PTI loyalists and most of them from KPK, a harsh reality

Decisions are made and some are good and others not. But this time he has 70% of PK behind him and any Noora that speaks will be reminded that they don't represent PK but the Establishment.

Elections 2024: voter turnout at 47.6%, 60.6mn people exercised right to vote on Feb 8, says FAFEN

As many as 60.6 million voters exercised their right to vote in Pakistan’s 12th general elections on February 8, 2024, nearly 5.8 million more than 2018 elections when 54.8 million had cast their votes, according to a Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) report released on Wednesday.

Despite the increase in the absolute number of voters, the turnout dipped from 52.1% in 2018 to 47.6% in 2024, primarily due to an increase in the number of registered voters from 106 million in 2018 to 128.6 million in 2024, following a record addition of 22.6 million between the two elections, the report stated.

moral victory? isn't it way past time for that?

IK in 70+ with no one to follow up and take his place. All Establishmant has ot do is make a things a little more difficult for the awam's every day life and there is going to be no election for 5 years.

still not seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Establishment is judge jury and executioner

You wish. Establishment have thrown their last dice with unequivocal backing of the poodles. Once they further lose control of the sinking ship, then you will see how they compromise with Great Captaan saab.

There cannot be any civil conflict when PTI supporters have proved themselves to be the biggest cowards in the game.

Everyone remembers, including the establishment, how the PTI supporters ran away after the rough treatment dished out on May 9.

PTI supporters are paper tigers - they retreat as soon as they are put under pressure. The establishment won’t take 5 mins to enforce law & order and force PTI hooligans back into their homes if there is unrest.

As I always say, if PTI supporters had to lead the French Revolution, the revolution wouldn’t have lasted for a day because one cannon by French royal army and the rebels would have ran away.

Cowards don’t bring revolutions.

Cowards are the clowns who still support the stooges of two parties who treat Pakistan like their baap ke jageer with their Family members taking turns with running Pakistan. What have your beloved corrupt mafia done since IK left the scene? Thought you said Pakistan will be on track when IK ll be out of the government and all we have seen since his illegal arrest is dreadful turmoil of economy and country.

Let's remeber the very basic fact that all your beloved clowns mafia had to unite under the label of PDM against one man. Did you go down rolling red carpet when your coward leader came back from London? Looks like he has faced another humiliation

Yes I agree.

I think he should have made a deal with the devil and aligned with PPP.

Once Khan was out of jail he could have done a uturn.

Looks like all of these guys dancing with him will be outside his residence looking for his Nak da Koka :ROFLMAO:

Biryani plate dancers are well known among the PPP and PMLN lol. People still support such garbage clowns is sad and hilarious

You see the title of this thread is very apt. The Jenrails will still hold all the power and have sway in the country.

I wish? I have no horse in this race.

Not a fan of deluded thinking. Establishment has had ironfist control over pakistan for over 70 years. don't see that changing becos of 1 election with a hung parliment.

make some predictions and back it up, instead of vague claims.

establishment got a pretty good situation here.

PML-N and PPP are lame ducks. IK in jail and not getting out anytime soon.

awam if too busy trying to make ends meet and wary of the response to past protests

Nope. The play would have been to sit in opposition in 2022, while keeping the powder dry.

He would have clearly swept the election becos economy was not going to get any better under PML-N/PPP or caretaker govt.

would have put US on the backfoot.

PTI can not go with PPP as they might fear of losing the vote bank for this step. But they have no choice left to make govt. in federal. I think PTI will be sitting in Opposition with Ali Muhammad Khan as the opposition leader.

They couldnt stay in oppostion after claiming that the vote was a US organised coup.

However they should have stayed in control of the provinces and not dissolved them.

The PPP are basically Nooras under a different name- a family business. Sooner or later they too will be history because mobile phones will show the people that they can't be kept in serfdom for ever

It made no difference in AJK or GB.
They are, in comparison, villages with very little significance when compared to Punjab.

Remaining in control of Punjab would have kept noon at bay and the police + lower level infrastructure officials in check.

These guys that effectively control Punjab just do anything their masters say, no matter who the masters are.

Listening to Fawad and dissolving Punjab assembly especially after winning it in arrangement with PE was a disastrous move.

The day they gave away punjab assembly, everyone knew he did an own goal and just threw away the elections in the favor of opposition.

The guy doesnt know how to do politics, just making stupid promises but no idea how to achieve them. A party like MQM with 17 seats is more powerful than PTI with 90+ seats only because one party knows how to do politics while the other does not.

By giving away the govt to PMLN, if PMLN can help recover the country with good decisions, PMLN would be making the best come back in politics ever.

This guy could have had PMLN by their necks had he joined with PPP

PTI would have been in a position to counteract some of the establishment moves if they remained in authority in Punjab.

The Senate election likely to be deferred due to incomplete electoral college for the upper house election, citing sources ARY News reported on Thursday.

The National Assembly and four provincial assemblies are electoral college for the Senate.

Sources said that a month-long schedule required for holding the senate elections. The elections will be held after the National Assembly as well as four provincial legislatures will be completed.

It is to be mentioned here that the tenure of the half senators of the incumbent senate will be completed by March 11, while elections were expected to be held in the first week of the month.

Parliamentary sources said that the Senate elections could be deferred till the third week of March. “Incumbent senators will remain members of the house until election of the new senators,” sources added.

It was anticipated that the schedule for the Senate election may be released immediately after general elections.

A total of 50 senate members are expected to retire on March 11, while total strength of the senate will become 96 after four seats of FATA cancelled due to merger of the region with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The elections will be held for the 48 vacant seats in the Senate.

Let's push for the Senate elections on time. It's important to get the seats filled and form a new government quickly. Delaying might slow things down, and we want a smooth process.

Imran Khan was right when he vouched for Presidential system, this current system is a cesspool

In a statement, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that PTI leaders have said that we are coming, if they want to come, then come, they do not know what they want to say, why they will come.

PTI core committee calls for Nationwide peaceful protest on Saturday and will issue White paper regarding rigging tomorrow

These kinds of protests had happened in the past as well but were of no real use. Things are still working like the powerful of Pakistan wants to. Until the individual guy is willing to change himself first, there will be no change in the system.

May be PTI is looking to join JUI to form KP govt. after Est bound JI backed down

what?

How does presidential system solve anything? Or just because Imran said it now you have to support it?

In presidential system you will never be able to pass bills or make new laws. People whine about other provinces being ignored, in the presidential system it will always be ignored.

Stop taking Imran's word as the word of gospel

18th amendment. Pakistan recovering from hyper inflation in 2013 due to ppp's policy

Pmln getting us hooked on cpex which has build infrastructure.

Pti get fata merged with kpk.

Before saying that you want presidential system back because imran said it, its better to do your own analysis

The parliamentary system was one of the best things that ever happened in pur politics and should had stayed that way in the 80s if it werent for Zia.

One of the biggest issues related to guns violence in USA is because of the presidntial system

Pakistan General Elections 2024

Date of Election: February 8th 2024, Thursday

Basic Guidelines for all voters

- Check Your National Assembly (NA), Provincial Assembly (PK) and polling station (where to cast vote) by msging your CNIC number to 8300.

- You can also see you constituency map here

- List of contesting candidates (constituent wise)

HOW TO VOTE FOR PTI
The ECP has not issued an election symbol to PTI as they failed to have intra party elections. Thus, PTI will not be contesting the election as a party, and its candidates will be contesting as Independent candidates, in which case each Independent candidate will have a different symbol.

PTI hopes that its independent candidates will win seats and than will join together to form govt in the parliament.

To know which PTI candidate is contesting from which constituent, in the below link go to Imran Khan's Facebook page, and msg the page your NA number (the one you got from msging 8300) and they will tell you the PTI candidate's name and symbol who is standing as an Independent candidate. Below is the link
The only ins and outs are with the Pakistan establishment.
Vote of average Pakistani does not matter at all as we have seen umpteen times. Establishment elects/selects the politicalians and throws them into jail on there whims

You ended up answering your own question.

Justice will come through parliamentary system when we elect our mnas.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate for the Prime Minister slot Omar Ayub Khan on Friday granted one month protective bail from Peshawar High Court (PHC), ARY News reported.

As per details, Omar Ayub’s counsel told the court that four cases are registered against the PTI leader in Lahore, Two in Islamabad, 13 in Rawalpindi, three in Attock and one in Gujranwala.

Chief Justice PHC said that these are 23 cases, the lawyer responded that a total of 24 pleas have been submitted to the court.

The plea told the court that Khan is a candidate for the Prime Minister slot and urged to grant one month bail.

At this, Chief Justice Ibrahim Khan granted one-month protective bail to PTI leader and said that no one will arrest him after the bail.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder named the party’s secretary general Omar Ayub Khan as a candidate for the prime minister (PM) slot.

Talking to newsmen outside Adiala Jail after meeting the incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Asad Qaiser said Omar Ayub Khan will be the party’s candidate for the PM slot.

Omar Ayub Khan, an independent candidate backed by PTI won the election for National Assembly constituency NA-18, Haripur by securing 192,948 votes.

According to the unofficial result issued by the Returning Officer/ECP, his runner-up was Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidate, Babar Nawaz Khan who bagged 112,389 votes. The voters’ turn-out remained 49.88%.

Nope. We are happy with parliamentary system.
Yes like we were happy with this voting system. Remember how you guys told us that EVMs were IKs plan to rig elections and then we get this. PK needs a President at the centre

I have always believed anyone who doesn't support Imran Khan is obviously part of the under the table lefafa exchanging corrupt system or just in favour because of "regional humzuban jahalat". Their dubious rozi roti was at risk under IK long haul so obviously it's always the corrupt mafia the obvious preference. There is no other explanation for blindly supporting two corrupt family dynasties who have done nothing for Pakistan for 5 decades, Despite establishment being total thugs, why this nation loves hitting axe on its foot is mind boggling.

We have also seen what extent these stooges could go to under IK and despite PTI's clean sweep in this election, the way they altered the election for selection has never been this obvious and hilarious. Banana republic through and through, no wonder honest man struggles when thugs and their chamcha fans forcefuly rule the nation. Good thing is majority is fed up and is with IK, regardless if he comes back or not one can hope for some change in the future as majority has also started speaking up against establishment thugs which wasn't a norm before.
