Pakistan reach 73/3 at stumps in the 1st innings of the 3rd Test against England

27 overs left in the day, minimum.

Pakistan will likely bat today, I think 10 overs at least?

This game is getting more and more intetesting.

Good Test so far.

We need to bat very positively when the ball is still hard. England are ahead of the game here.

118-6 to 244-8. Yet another case of Pakistan coming into a good position and letting the advantage slip. I fear this is already too many runs on this pitch.

Ic, Fair but why? Spin has done the job? Only 2 wickets left
As I said these two are spin bowlers and they likely to play spin well. And you will have spinner on the other end, but Jamal to bowl instead of Zahid. Also, spin have done well early on but Jamie and Atkinson also played them well.

England are ahead but I don't think you can blame PAK too much besides that Saud drop. Spinners were bound to get tired. They bowled 20+ overs on the trot. Jamie Smith and Gus Atkinson also played some very good cricket putting the loose balls away. Especially Smith who played a pretty excellent knock under the circumstances.

The problem is having a guy like Zahid as your third spinner.

Sajid should be banned from calling for drs off his own bowling. The WK has to verify it, that review was terrible, did not look close to being out in real time.

PitchViz rating (the higher the number, the harder it is to bat):

  • Overs 1-10: 4.0
  • Overs 11-20: 7.0
  • Overs 21-30: 8.0
  • Overs 31-40: 8.4
  • Overs 41-50: 6.9
  • Overs 51-60: 6.7
Average deviation

  • Overs 1-40: 3.98 degrees
  • Overs 41-60: 4.87 degrees
In terms of bounce inconsistency (the higher the number, the more uneven the bounce)

  • Overs 1-10: 1.5
  • Overs 11-20: 4.1
  • Overs 21-30: 7.4
  • Overs 31-40: 6.8
  • Overs 41-50: 4.3
  • Overs 51-60: 3.8

@Devadwal The older ball is turning even more but much more consistent in terms of bounce.

Turn is not a big problem but uneven bounce

Well england score is respectable now.

No non-spin bowler used so far. Are we banking on Reverse swing being utilized when Jamal comes on?

Should try Jamal for couple of overs and ask him to attack the stumps.

Every bowler in pakistan does that it's nothing new.

It's always the wicket keeper and captain who bow down to pressure or just take it for no reason.

That was an obvious deflection off the bat though, he shouldn't have pushed for the review. Keeper can't see the deflection from his position.

This is a good comeback from England. If they manage to not give a lead of more than 50 they will have good chance at the series win

Pitch is very difficult, Eng have scored st good rate, Pakistan might f/o here

It's already keeping so low, I wouldn't be surprised if this ends within 3 days.

England all out before Pakistan has even used a pacer. We couldn't have known how spin friendly this track was in hindsight but still weird not to have a single pacer bowl.

Pakistan will be bundled out very quickly imo. However I'm happy to be proven wrong. Pakistan badly needs a 2-1 victory. Their morale skyrocketed after the last game

Should have bundled them out for under 200. England with the upper hand on this tricky pitch and look good candidates for a small lead

Feels like it’s something to bowl at, if not quite a “good” score.

J Smith played one of the better innings I have seen from an England batsman on a turning pitch.

We'd be lucky to reach 300.
Even 250 is not gong to be easy on this pitch. It can only happen if England bowls badly and we somehow get lucky and don’t get too many of those deliveries that are staying low around the ankle height.

Pakistan need to get atleast 400 in 1st inns. Time to bat well for once

Pakistan are due a jhoom barabar jhoom performance with the bat

I'm hoping for a brisk hundred from Saim Ayub. Quick runs is the key on this wicket because there's always going to be a ball that has your name on it.

Rameez advocating to open with a middle order batter. WOW this guy is slow

Your forgot the following:

Getting violated in the 2018 Asia Cup in UAE by India twice (without prime Kohli) after stating that India is afraid of Pakistan. Not to mention, losing to BD.

You also forgot yawning with his belly out when Rohit was smashing his bowlers all over Manchester in the 2019 World Cup.

🤡🤡🤡
I think you forgot a few other little details but I will remember them for you.
1. Losing to England 3-0 in ODIs vs their C team
2. Losing one asia cup final and getting knocked out in another
3. Losing to India by 223 runs in that Asia cup
4. Losing to Afghanistan for the first time
5. Losing to Zimbabwe 3 times and once in a T20 World Cup
6. Losing to USA

I could go on and on but that’s too much of an ask. All these losses where under house favourite captain and his deputy keeper
🤡🤡

This is the pitch where batters must read the line well and be very watchful of the straight ones

Saim looking confident today. Good pakistan needs him to come through

Well england score is more than NZ now.

Moral victory for them .
How does that work across two different games being played thousands of km away ?
Or is it you who's taking heart from the fact that England have decent score on the board now

Don't forget flunking 3 super overs by sending chacha 3x 🤣🤣
