Pakistan reach 73/3 at stumps in the 1st innings of the 3rd Test against England

if we can get through the day unscathed then we will be way ahead of the game

I think you forgot a few other little details but I will remember them for you.
1. Losing to England 3-0 in ODIs vs their C team
2. Losing one asia cup final and getting knocked out in another
3. Losing to India by 223 runs in that Asia cup
4. Losing to Afghanistan for the first time
5. Losing to Zimbabwe 3 times and once in a T20 World Cup
6. Losing to USA

I could go on and on but that’s too much of an ask. All these losses where under house favourite captain and his deputy keeper
🤡🤡
We've definitely regressed as a team immensely. Yet, people will stay say not to worry.

Pakistani spinners to take multiple 5-wicket hauls in Test series in the last 10 years:

Yasir Shah (6 times)
Sajid Khan (this series)

No pitch can be as bad as an Indian pitch. Their main spinner, who has taken 500 plus Test wickets is always benched when they’re touring away.
It's another way for India to cover up and fraud their way via media campaigns.

In the future we'll be hearing how Ashwin and Jadeja were the Pride Spinners of Only India or some other nonsense

Rawalpindi needs to host more tests. Relatively speaking, the attendance is decent for tests played in Pakistan. Looks just over half full.

Yes but this specific one. Both teams made similar totals

No Saeed Ajmal? That's Surprising.

Saeed Ajmal was found to be bowling over the legal limit around this time in 2014, so I'm not sure if he played much test cricket after that.

Pakistani spinners have taken all 10 wickets on Day 1 four times,

3 of those have been against England including today.

1980 vs. West Indies (Mohammad Nazir, Abdul Qadir and Iqbal Qasim)
1987 vs. England (Abdul Qadir and Tauseef Ahmed)
2022 vs. England (Abrar Ahmed, and Zahid Mahmood)
2024 vs. England (Sajid Khan, Noman Ali and Zahid Mahmood)

Some of the English batsmen threw their wickets away with their ultra aggressive Bazball approach. If they had shown more patience, they could have easily scored between 320 and 350.

On the other hand, the NZ batters are not as aggressive and struggled due to the poor pitch.

So what’s the difference? Pakistan played like a minnow team post 2017 under Sarfaraz and they have played like a minnow team under Babar in the last 1.5 years.

Sarfaraz was lucky there was no T20 World Cup in 2018 otherwise his fake number 1 team would have been exposed just like Babar’s fake number 1 team got exposed in ODIs.

Sarfaraz started Pakistan cricket’s decline in Test cricket and couldn’t capitalize on the Champions Trophy success to build further in ODI cricket.

The 2019 World Cup was an embarrassing with Pakistan getting out for 103 in the opener vs WI and having its NRR destroyed in spite of spending the whole month in England prior to the World Cup.

Sarfaraz was a failure as captain and as a player. Babar at the very least is a far better player than Sarfaraz in spite of being in poor form for so long.

Abdullah looks much better against spin then he does against pace or any kind of lateral movement

Actually expecting Bashir to be one of the more dangerous bowlers on this pitch with his height and high release point.

That is if he bowls consistently in the right areas and isn't all over the place

this pitch looks easier than multan. decent cricketing pitch its a slow turner and so batters can adjust

So if the ball tracking was clipping, Saim would have been out even though England were not appealing for LBW

Once you get used to pace and bounce in this pitch you should be able to bat long.

Not like an unplayable ball is just around the corner

How good was that shot from Abdullah. looks like he did few adjustments.

When it comes to review it doesn't matter what the original decision was, they can change it if it's deemed out via another method

At least that is my understanding of it
Nah . original decision is very important . I'm 100% sure umpire call doesn't matter on LBW call if batsman given caught behind

He would have been out LBW because the umpire's decision was out. He didnt specify if he gave it out for caught or LBW. The 3rd umpire would only check all modes of dismissal. Had the decision been not out originally, clipping the stumps would also remain not out.

Abdullah is useless

Why can't Huraria play considering he plays spin a lot better

No bruv. When the lbw review happened the original decision was put as not out. They account for the fact that it's not lbw

This issue took place during the world cup when Harris Rauf could have had an LBW against SA. The umpire gave it not out because he thought there was an inside edge, not that he thought the ball was missing the stumps.

Yes but it was umpires call on hitting the stumps else would have been out

Desperate review. Hit him in line and it was always castling into the stumps.

This is the point i am trying to make here.

Ball clipping on Umpire's call (even when the review isnt for LBW) would be considered out if thats what the umpire called.

That wicket was gifted by Abdullah after watching some of English dismissals whilst in field.

Poor dismissal and even more stupid to review it. Sort of rubbish hafeez use to do
This was intensified in the Bobzy the king era

2 out of 3 reviews were reserved for Babar and Rizwan no matter what.

Captain of Captains, the successor to Babar the captain who ousted Babar, the captain from RWP to Leeds , Shan Masood in
