Looks like Amir need another youngster on the other end to support his superb bowling.

Talha wouldn't be a bad choice or even Anwar Ali.

Australia | 2/171 | 42 Overs

Afridi bowls bad bowling here. Afridi struggling here.

Can't believe Afridi was stupid enough to bowl first

There's NOTHING in it

We would get murdered on Day 5

lol

Would've been quite comical to see Farhat and Butt facing the amount of swing and seam there was earlier.

Asif needs to get some more zip from his deliveries...His line, length have been good and he's got movement ..but he's lacking a little in pace...

Asif's new action is getting him more swing...the problem is that he isn't bowling with enough consistency.

From what we've seen of Asif, he has still got the ability to make the ball talk, but he's lost the extra pace that made him demon earlier in his career.

When exactly did Asif have pace?

Its a difficult job for the spinners on Day 1 . This is a Seamer's wicket so Asif & Gul should have done better.

68 runs and no wickets in last 13 overs...

Aussies going at 5+ runs an over. No clever stuff!

I dont think its the pace as much as the zip...He's always been low 80's but there seems to be something lacking...The batsmen look to have time to pick up the swing and adjust...

It could just be that the wicket is very slow and in whichcase our batsmen should find it easier too, although the Aussies can move it around too and probably at higher pace...

He used to bowl around 85mph when he first came on. And now 78mph.
Thats a BIG difference given his line length type of bowling,

like they did vs NZ and Australia in the 2nd Test of both series?

for once let's give credit to the BATSMEN for playing well?

in your faces who were critisizing asif......shabash.....
last delivery before tea

How is this possible? Asif is too slow to trouble batsmen!!

Australia | 2/171 | 43 Overs | Tea been taken now.

Asif strikes Clarke gone.

GONE ! brilliant from Asif. All you saying he has lost it need to watch a replay of this over.

Oooooooo Asif strikes, but was it out, i suppose it cancels out the shocker against Katich.

You seem like a very sound and reasonable commentator Ahmed. I wish there were more like minded people around who would understand the game better.

This is perfect.

Now the team will be all revamped during the tea break and come back with all guns firing and bowl out Australia today :D

Absolutely gorgeous bowling.

Intelligent, in fact. 5 went away and then one nipped back. Legend.

That was on grassy tracks, Asif is pretty much the same as he has always been.

He does have the odd action now when bowling the outswinging deliveries.

AZ, I'm just saying it's ridiculous to blame Afridi for bowling first given how conducive the conditions were for swing bowling. We could've had the Aussies 3 or 4 down in the 1st hour if some jaffas were edged and the umpiring was up to standard.

No, they will never do that

Most people's memories seem to blank when anyone besides Afridi does anything good
