Aim for 550 plus wear the English down so their heads are scrambled when they come out to bat.
 
A big part of playing in conditions like Abu Dhabi is winning the toss. Good batting units should be able to score 500 here in a little under two days and then use the scoreboard pressure to unsettle the opposition. The team batting second has two challenges (a) cope with the conditions which if they do successfully (b) how to move the game towards a results. After all if they bat another two days for the same score, then you only have a final day left.
Captains who lose the toss on pitches like Abu Dhabi and field for two days need a lot of courage and their bowlers need stamina:
- courage to either bat faster and overhaul the first innings score quickly or to declare behind and aim for a big chase in the fourth innings
- stamina to come back to bowl out the opposition quickly after having bowled for two days upfront.
 
Bumble says 'we are too stats driven', but who remembers the massive deal they made about Jimmy Anderson overtaking Botham?
 
Just for trolling, it would be good if most of the wickets are taken by the Pakistani pacers. Comparisons of inadequacy will put more pressure on the England attack

Doesn't matter. Even if we bowl England out for 200. They will still complain that the pitch is 'flat'
 
English commentators just speak rubbish. You realise how annoying they are when PAK play England.

Seriously hope they send old Bumble home. Tries to be funny but just speaks rubbish. When does he ever make a solid point?

Adil rashid didnt bowl even 5 good deliveries in a single over. He didnt find his length nor line.

true when its their pitches all we hear is how great anderson is...Im convinced we'll bowl better than them!

The whining about pitches is getting tiresome already and we're just in the 1st innings of the 1st Test.

I'd say to replace Zulfiqar with Malik, it will make the batting lineup longer and we'll have a younger spinner. Zulfis form isn't that good.

its a short term option because im not sure they wont call Malik...he needs to get his test bowling groove back..long term imad is probably the future offie for us..

Imad is not an offie. But a very good option. Would do very well vs England as he bowls at a good pace. And with bat would average 30+ with bat.

We got ages yet. No need to declare. Just as I say Botham hasn't said anything, he does.

I wish Broad would dance up and down on the pitch and create some rough for Babar to work with. Him getting suspended for the next game would be a plus.
