Whoops. Terrible timing both with the shot and the point in the game.

Will keep Chef's knife sharp.

Shafiq and Misbah just need to play the next hour out now.

Rashid Bhai looking much better when he has scoreboard pressure.

Surely not enough overs left to get a result though, would need a hat-trick in there or something.

If we can survive another 27 overs we can save this test. Come on Shafiq, Misbah and Sarfraz

Never underestimate the generosity of the Pakistani batsmen.

Just came back and Younis is gone, well at least this gives us a chance to assess Misbah's form

did someone just noticed after shafiq's shot
the wicketkeeper rolled the ball to the bowler instead of throwing it in the air?

that was strange

Who knows, maybe if Pakistan can get a lead of around 75 odd they could put England in and bowl them out in the last 10 overs :yk2

Misbah is losing it.

Was struggling against Siddle with the short stuff and here again.

England would need to be looking at a target of no more than 100 in around 15 overs. That is gettable.

2 overs will be lost to the changeover.

So they would need to get the remaining 6 wickets in the next 18 overs.

So it is doable but I doubt it will happen.

voww such an irresponsible shot by YK at a crucial time. But is Misbah man enough to drop him like he dropped Umar Akmal?

^^ This. Pak need to just be safe next 18 odd overs and we good

hahaha. I'm enjoying this commentary for the other game. "The guy sledged him there, that's not on!"

I am almost certain, if PCB buffoons pick similar wickets for next 2 Tests, ENG 'll end up 0-1 winners. PAK is a bit lucky that Misbah won the toss, otherwise facing 500+, no way PAK can bat out 3 days for a draw. I think, this was my assessment before the Series that on result wicket PAK should win 2-1, might be even 3-0, but on these type of dead slow tracks English batsmen 'll put enough at least once to win 0-1. I see a similar pattern of 2001 Series, when a far superior PAK side managed to convert a possible 3-0 in to a 0-1 (& losing 1st time at Karachi in 50 years).

I am waiting for the inside story - my hunch is as "host", someone "intellectual" from PCB must have taught few tricks to Mohan Singh, otherwise he is quite a proficient grounds man.

Right.

I'd suggest you go have a look at how the Abu Dhabi ground has been in the past few test series. If I'm not mistaken more than half the games played on this ground end up as a draw whereas, Dubai is more likely to get a result.

But of course you keep telling yourself that.

You want Younis Khan dropped? :yk

well if a youngster despite having a very good series in the WI can be dropped on a shot like that against Zim(talkin about UA) why not YK?We at least should be consistent.

True brother, you are very wise :afridi #JusticeMustBeServed I want to see the great Umar Akmal replace the naughty Khan in Tests.

I hope he gets a 50 here at least.

Definitely, hasn't spent much time at the crease in recent times (didn't play in the practice games either) and a 50 would be great for his confidence going into the 2nd Test.

Bro I don't think you will find many people agreeing with you. :afridi

Groundsmen were afraid that the pitch would start breaking up on day 1 due to the heat and hence put extra dried grass on the pitch and instead it lead to the pitch being held too well and not breaking up.

yeah because YK can play these stupid slogs in crucial times because he is senior players?lol

Maybe because Team Man has 30 Test hundreds and almost 9000 runs, and his last innings before this Test was something that Umar can only dream of? :yk

Don't belittle the wisdom of brother MRSN, it was foretold he'd save us from the deceptions of Mr.Khan and bring us closer to our saviour; the enigma that is Umar Akmal.

What the hell is happening here.

Collapsed triggered by Shan/Malik, and this SHAFIQ failing again in crunch situations.
