This is what it's all about - boys have to dig in, as boycs says "book in for bed and breakfast!!!"

No early check outs please!!!

I know it's a test match but you can't afford to just shut your factory down like that. Asad needs to take at least two runs an over on average.

Shafiq is not a test match number six, that much is clear up to now.

double edged sword having Akmal at 6. He might do haddin style hack shot and get out. If you wanna play that then you need a very very strong middle order and akmal at 3.

Why did Misbah go against his tried and tested method of bowling first?

Misbah with another single. Just need to keep ticking along.

Do you guys remember Asad scoring freely against Eng in his first few ODIS ?

His innings in NZ of 80 odd was also quite alright, didn't seem to be as bogged down as he has become now ?

Morale of the story is that both Asad and Akmal are made to curb their instincts to play according to the teams sense of scoring runs. It is OK, im not against that. But Asad in particular needs to get that balance back which he is quite capable of. Its not as YOU ALL are saying that he was is and will remain playing like this forever.

It looks like Pakistani Batsmen are trying to show support for Dravid by getting bowled out. :pissed:

Really attacking field set up here for Misbah. The guy is pure class. I'm just so confident he wont throw his wicket away.

Shafiqs got the technique that's for sure. Jus struggling to rotate, no biggie, let him have time to get in.

Likely that had Akmal been playing would have been 6 and out.

8 over partnership of maidens, save four scoring strokes!!!

Anderson getting good inswing but bowling quite slowly.

don't worry lads, need to see both teams bat, until then you never know. 250 might be a good score.

There's no problem with Asad stonewalling if he stays there and supports Misbah. My doubt is whether he's good enough to keep his wicket.

We probably need another 120 or so to be able to compete in this Test. No idea how the Englishmen are going to play Ajmal and Rehman here :))

Never been comfortable with the swinging ball. Ever.

Good against the spinners. (Which he is showing here)

agreed. but he'll more chance of keeping his wicket if he plays naturally. which is good for both him and the team.

It's a bit more than stonewalling though.

Asad sometimes just shuts down all together. That's pretty useless for a number six batsman.

Pak 120/4 - Really hope we can sneak up to 300 here!

Not likely. 250 would give Pakistan a possible lead of 50-60 which might just be good enough given England will be batting last on this almost-dustbowl of a pitch against iDone and the mind numbingly boring but surprisingly effective Rehman.

Bring Swann on for Panesar, a couple more for Anderson and then get Broad back on.

Shafiq puts more value on his wicket then his proposed replacement. i can imagine Umar Akmal getting himself out because the tuk tuk will get to him and he will do something silly
