England have done well , but they would also know that they need to bat last ........ that is bound to play on there minds.
 
looks a challenging pitch, will need YK and Misbah to show their class.

Azhar looks OK so far, as well.

we're going to murder England that's for sure. :ajmal
 
Bob Willis is going crazy now he is saying did Pakistani make the spinning pitch on purpose after what happened in Dubai...
Why would Pak have batted first if that was the case... somebody kick his backside

what are you rattling on about this time? Bob makes a good point, a spinning pitch could have been requested after England's poor performance against spin in test one. Nothing wrong with what he said.

honestly if you make spinning track you should bat first :)

and its our right in every sense to make a spinning track

yes I agree and on spinning pitch we should bat first but y complain?

we won the toss and we batted thats 50/50 then England should take advantage of the spin as they have done

England's session for sure.

Didn't realise how much the pitch spun, may be good for Pakistan too.

300 may well be the target.
 
this spin won't last. worst thing that can happen is pakistan get 250-300 all out and england bat for all of days 2 and 3 because it will be dead flat. then we're trying to save the match for 2 days against these 2 spinners on days 4 and 5...

Pakistanis should not complain

bob willis can complain on anything though ... they are like that only since ages
 
I think the session was balanced , would have been pakistan's if we had lost only 1 and would have been englands if we had lost 1 more.

why will it not last?

if anything the more the sun beats down and the wear/tear with bowlers running in on it, will get worse.
 
Umar Akmal severely needed. He is a good player of spin much better than asad shafiq.

the sun isn't beating down anywhere right now. and most of the experts reckon this turn is down to unseasonal weather conditions creating moisture in the pitch. the pitch is then gripping and spinning. as always with this beautiful sport though, we don't really know.

should the ball not slide on/grip less if its a wet pitch?

i mean don't get me wrong, i hope it lasts and gets harder to bat on. however i think it's just do to some early moisture in the pitch (cold weather induced maybe) and i think the track will get better before it gets worse.

hope i'm wrong!

dew is different, that's a heck of a lot of moisture. this is (or could be rather, all just guesses) due to just inherent moisture in the pitch that will most likely vanish

If Pakistan scores 350 or more, they are going to win it for sure but first session went to England imo
 
Pakistan need two solid session of batting. We need to get through this one with out losing any wickets.
 
I think Ramiz is talking about the Indian technique. It's been working nicely in Australia.
 
taufeeq dissmissal was very stupid should have a bat to it. Hafeez went way to back fooot.
hope YK n Azar takes us to rescue.
 
The wicket is pretty slow paced but is providing more turn then last game. I wonder if it will start to break up on day 4/5
