I have watched CSk and Dhoni operate for India for years. Trust me, if Root is accurate and does bowl an over or two well here...then he can be given 4 overs.

Raina's bowling (no wickets) was one of the reasons why we won CT 2013 20 over FINALS.

Raina and Root are aesthetically very different bowlers. Raina has a side arm action which gives him natural drift so if its turning square it becomes very difficult for batsman to pick since the ball is coming angular to their eye line. 7 times out of 10 a batsman trying to hit Raina on a turner would mistime the shot since drift + any sort of spin makes it extremely difficult to bat against.

On the other hand Root is more of a high arm conventional offiee whose spin on a rank turner can be neutralized by players with good feet movement and since Root is not a regular, the chance of him mucking it up is greater than him actually delivering 4 decent overs under the pump in a T20 chase. Not saying anything but anyone having YK or Sarfarz type of feet movement totally neutralize a bowler like Root and Asians naturally are good against Offies

Raina mostly gets his wickets from skid rather than spin.

Of course, no one will introduce Root when Sarf is on strike.

I think Pakistan will smash pacers more easily than spinners here.
