openers given us a 50+ start in both innings.
Its as good as it gets under the circumstances. Well Done boys!!

Not to totally take it away from these 2 BUT even i would score runs with a cusion of 165 runs to start with - BUT sadly i think these runs will cement their spot in the side

there was no need for that shpag(six) from Farhat, never mind until he doesn't miscues one

200 in front, a bit of slogging is not totally unwarranted. Mind you probably not wise this close to the end of day's play.

Farhat the new Umar Akmal...

aha - now you are warming up to Farhat

Salman Butt goes to a good quick ball....

49/1 Decent start.

Drop your wrists is the first rule of playing short balls.

great bowling that,, Butt goes!!!!!!!!! great bowling O'Brien deserved that, Mr. Butt even I would have missed that

Ripper from O'Brien. Damn!

Butt gone for 18. Pakistan 49/1

And hello! Moyo coming out at number 3! :14:

Wah half the team must be itching to come out now!

That was a great ball. anybody would have got out to that

Not exactly he totally botched it while ducking...it wasn't short enough to duck under and then he shouldn't have tried to throw the bat at the ball while ducking at same time...

Butt"I scored my average, a good opening stand of 49, what else you want from me"

honestly if he can keep doing that, against top teams, then no wants anything more

yusuf in at 3 now that we have a lead of 200, if it was first innings, we would have seen U Akmal walk in again

Not such a brave decision. We have a good lead now. But dair aye durust aye :14:

Moyo one down.

make or break

he scores well he will be a hero gets out cheaply we will say so poor decision should have sent a night watch man since only 5-6 overs left

I'm fairly confident that Farhat will also be gone by the time the day ends.

I dont understand this type of attitude.

:))) @ Yousuf walking in at 3.

What is going on?! This was the time to give the youngster a chance to actually score some runs.

I guess the team management forced his hand again ;-)

Oh well ... I love watching Yousuf bat.

Yousuf you clown - i thought the management decided 4 was best for you?

That was for the first inning. and now he fooled the NZ and us too. Inti you Machiavellian master!! :inti

People need to remember these are third rate seamers, i.e. O'Brian, Tuffey and Martin who are making Pakistani batsmen look ordinary...imagine what Johnson, Lee, Hilfanhaus and Siddle would do to them only an few weeks down the road...

Please refer to one of Amir's quotes in another thread.

I think it was somethig along the lines of ' a short term gain is not worth a long term loss'

Sadly Farhat has been the best opener with the bat in last 4 test innings and that tells how sad our opener situation is

60 in first inning and 49 in second....these two seems to have booked the ticket to Aus

yusuf just proved he can't play under pressure, he sees some cheap runs with a huge lead so decided to come in

And here's another quote that you may want to use

Success breeds success

ie - You have to start winning to win consistently - or in other words, success is not a bad thing.

These players need our support and from what I see of Farhat and Butt in this match, I am very happy.

I like Yousef's batting no matter how much he scores. He has style, class, and elegance. The best batsman in our team. I hope he does good this time.
