2 drops in two overs.
Pakistani fielders back to normal I feel but hope not and on this wicket it is criminal.
 
A couple of sessions where they don't dominate and the insecurities and dropped catches start to sneak in...

I see what you mean, but with him in the team the selectors would always have to include Hafeez because Babar just leaks too many runs, even when Pak is on top (think back to the last 3 matches)
 
I remember when I bowled out Space Thug.

Good day. Took his middle stump and then he went home crying.

But then he became the star all-rounder for the NZ A team.
 
Had Azhar snatched it, it would have been a first catch in slip/ gully off fast bowler in last 4 tests...

I really dont mind anything but drop catches are criminal for team and bowlers. I would surely prefer Matt Prior way of treatment for fielders, dropping a catch in test should not be take lightly NZ could have been 4 down if not for Azhar Ali.

Pathetic fielding to say the least.
 
Have a feeling we'll collapse in this match. Back to old habits

True. I don't see long term utility of Babar regardless of his age.

We will always be able to produce spinners who can do the damage in these conditions against poor players of spin so that isn't a big deal. I think we should be showing some more faith in Raza Hasan. Definitely a quality prospect.

Babar probably has one more year in him.
 
Even Azhar scoring a ton will not help much to pay back for drops.

lol what were you bowling? What a player he is, do you think he'll snipe the captaincy from Williamson? I heard he was captaining Canterbury at the age of 20.
 
Before people go on about dropped catches, Shehzad should have been stumped early on in his innings of 170 odd.
 
if only we had junaid, wahab or even gul those guys are beastly with reverse.

I agree and Babar doesn't offer anything in the field or with the bat. Unless you are an Ajmal (before he was caught for throwing) or a Herath I don't think you have any excuse to be bad at fielding/batting, especially as a lone spinner.

That's why I like Yasir because he offers the team something with his energy in the field.

I agree, 'ifs' and 'buts' are all part and parcel of sport. At the end of the day, Latham deserves all the credit.

Just a swinging yorker. Swung from leg line to hit off. Two piece ball of course lmao.

Latham is a great talent and super solid but i still think Williamson is a better talent and has essentially been bred for the role.

Williamson has more range of shots. Latham a bit limited , still very solid.
 
people need to calm down. First use on this pitch will always mean a good day for the side batting first. But this is a 5 day test not a 1 day. NZ have batted well and with application, if they put a massive score up they can really go at us.

On our end if we get some quick wickets either here or in the morning we are back in it.

I agree, even if these guys put up 250 the others will still need to contribute to really put a good total on the board.

Can't sleep on Taylor here ether Pakistan. Hes out of form but still our best batsman comfortably in any conditions.
 
PAK fans need to calm down.

1 bad bowling performance in 7 innings is very good. Chill.
