What's new

Pakistan v New Zealand | 3rd Test- Day 5 | Napier | 15/12/09

New ball, these two really need to just keep it simple for the next 10 overs.

need to play risk free cricket but still rotate strike

hmm

So what has :misbah contributed to the whole team since he came back into the test side due to the request of our great captain? If he would've requested Afridi we'd actually have a spare bowler in hand. :afridi

I can see why Umar did well against Aus A in Australia. He's pretty decent on the backfoot.

I love those fans randomly screaming like mad baboons in the background

Afridi has taken himself out of consideration for Test cricket at the moment.

I am sure Afridi would've stepped up and came to NZ if he was asked to go by our Captain's request. Afridi is not the type of man who says NO when asked to do something for team or his country. :afridi

Current partnership 35 runs, 10.2 overs, RR: 3.38 (Kamran Akmal 17, Umar Akmal 18)

This is how test cricket should be played

You see a bad ball, you hit it as hard as you can, no matter what te situation

Well Done Akmal brothers

Yeh rite that's wh he always tried to escape from batting at one down position

You see, that's why I didn't want them to show aggression. Stupid dismissal.

Big wicket here. I think we are about 75 runs short. Aamer and Kmran need a strong partnership here.

Kami needs to go ballistic now. Hog the strike as much as possible and get some runs on the board.

That should make all those posters saying "We are going for a draw" "This is too slow" etc happy

Swing and the bounce did it for him there

No, the fact that he needlessly flashed at a short and wide one not even two overs after the new ball was taken did for him there.

Our best left hand batsman is in now.

Captain or Manager are the ones that decide the batting order. And as far as i am concerned Afridi hasn't lead Test or ODI except 1 ODI match against SA which he came on to bat at #3 i am sure. He's not the type who runs away...he leads from the front. Just look at his T20 batting order.

Have you not seen what happened to the last two batsmen that tried to get some runs on the board? These two should be blocking and leaving the ball for the next 30 minutes.

Atleast playing like this got us another 36 runs

The way Misbah was playing, it was nothing but a bomb waiting to explode
