Just under 40 minutes to go till the first ball of Day 2 is bowled. Hoping the players are in the right mind set going into the second day.

Should be an interesting day though. Forgot Hafeez is nearing a double, wishing him all the best to finally reach the landmark after missing out against Sri Lanka a while back when he was dismissed on 196.

So news is the Kiwis wanted to abandon everything and
return home. PCB negotiated an entire day of mourning to
preserve rest of the tour.

Hats of to :kohli
Hit a ranji century the day his father died. Something like that.

Care for the living and mourn for the dead latter

For a Pak win?

Mixture of things, usually get the bookies when they just open the in-play markets without adjusting. Have quite a bit on the 1st innings total though (won't say how many runs I need Pak to score due to 'nazar' :P ).

Haha good luck! :)

I don't want to sound mean here but I think the commentators should talk more about the action on the field than Hughes. Everyone is mourning, but they have a job to do.

They already took a day off.

match looks dead , players look disinterested , would be better if they had cancelled the match

Players themselves aren't into it, so one can't blame the commentators. The atmosphere out there is not conducive to continuing the match. Might as well call it off?

If the players and commentators weren't ready to play they should've called the game off.

Typical misbah langra technique. Absolutely zero technique.

I know that, but they are not helping the situation at all. They can make up for the somber attitude of the players somewhat by focusing on the match.

why cancell odi.and t20 series ? This is not right thing to do cricket has to go on

Abandon this tour already, man. The players are clearly not readyto move on.

NZ need to use that wicket to buck themselves up a bit here

Still no close-in fielders against new batsman

Best tribute to hughes is playing hard cricket

What pressure? we were 284-3

Anything less than 450 on this pitch will be an ordinary effort. Looks like he's going to score only when the top order all scores hundreds and he can walk his way to another one.

Both batsmen should feast here, NZ are just not up for it.

Thats another thing but there is nothing pressure at 284-3

New Zealand look like they want to go back home right now. They look shaken. How do you think that williamson will come out and focus on batting?
Really think they should've abandoned the game.

Its awkward out there for the Pakistani batsmen out there. Good to see the crowd injecting some life into it.

Pin drop silence from NZ players and noone brave enough to field close-in, this is shameful cricket

I think there is when only one batsman has turned up this innings with no support. Misbah living of Younis and Azhar as usual.

This is pretty poor from NZ, no doubt about it. You'd expect even Australia to show more intensity when they turn up against India.

They actually wanted to do that but PCB convinced them not too.

Not sure if the PCB did the right thing. But i am sure there are financial pressures from the sponsors, but man...
You've got to feel for the players! They can't just focus on cricket at the moment. We can't force them to!

Death is part of life, These players are adult and need to realise that, In Pakistan when Markets were getting bombed we didnt stop going to Markets, Even Universities were bombed, we didnt stop going to Universities, You got to be brave enough to do your Job

I missed the start of play have they bowled a bouncer yet

Cannot argue with what you've said. Agreed.

I think pakistani players are alot more used to tragedies. NZ and Aus are safe places, whereas in Pakistan... Therefore it has affected NZ alot more. Not to mention Phil played alot more with kiwis and thus it has hit them hard. Williamson in particular.

Bouncer? Its a miracle they're running into to bowl at all. Shaken and dejected, thats how Kiwis are. Didn't even celebrate the skipper's wicket. Even the pakistan players look lost.

This is a different sort of tragedy but you gotta move on. Hughes has received tremendous tribute from across the globe and we even called of day 2 but time to play cricket now.

Well i know this is a big tragedy, but you are playing for your country here, got to put your heart and soul in the field

Worldcup matches were not abandoned when Woolmer died during Worldcup.

Obviously the case but also the break not good for Pakistan's batting but they will have to manage.

Actually the Pakistani batsmen don't look lost at all but yes Hafeez probably won't celebrate his 200 enthusiastically.

Dont think you will see that sort of attitude from Pakistan players

Different people grieve in different ways.

Agreed, in that case they shouldn't have played at all.

Exactly, Either cancel the tour or if you are agreed to play then put your full effort and interest.

Playing way too slow Pakistan this morning. They should pace up now.

Pakistan is being suicidal by following misbahs brand of cricket, this tuk tuk will only play in NZ favor.
